Looking for some lighter brexit relief by fellow leavers... Every thread I've glanced at seems to be dominated by renainers?

Is there any space for leaver on here?

Just interested... I wanted to chat...

Explain how you don't fuck with GFA if we no Deal. Don't try and conflate contempt for no Dealers with disagreements with Leavers. Unless you are also a No Dealer, I don't have contempt for you.

Much if the 'older' generation are remainders - having voted o remain in the original EEC referendum.

I really deplore how this referendum is being used to pit groups against each other.

And that's probably why there is no balanced debate on MN. And even though I did not vote Leave, I can quite see why Leavers don't want to post , when the it's essentially going to lead to a barrage of insults.

Just popped over to Gransnet (where I'm not a member) but the Brexit threads there are pretty much remain-dominated as well, primarily because the Brexiters can't seem to put up any decent reasons why it will be beneficial to us to leave. It's the same old 'but the majority voted to leave, so we must leave!' deal. Hmm

MsMarvellous if only TM had thought like you. You are the first poster I've ever seen that has said I voted leave but look at the mess, we need to fix this and remain.

I think CrunchyCarrot has also changed to Remain, from being Leave? Correct me, if I am wrong.

I don't think it's bullying or calling anyone a thick racist to ask what laws they want to change. VAT on sanitary protection was about the only one that anyone could bring up. Even that took the better part of three years.

I voted leave, never liked EU bureaucracy, felt UK didnt have any leadership in the eu and culturally so different from the continent. UK not being in the Euro area also highlights the different economy dynamics it has. Many EU countries (germany, france, italy) arent in great economic shape. I didnt see what the benefits of being in the EU were, if anything it felt like paying a fee to provide argricultural subisides or to subside within another legal and administrative framework.

I thought UK is a net importer even if EU is the largest trading bloc, thought that in spite of short term pain it is not impossible and not be total armageddon to establish bilateral trade ties/deals with the EU (whom i still see as a dick) and rest of the world. UK is services driven and i think that can still grow outside but in partnership with the EU bloc - the same way cities like NYC, tokyo or hong kong survive?

I was also swayed by border rhetoric and want more immigration control, but not closed borders. I really think countries need to have sovereignty over borders and look after its own first and allow labour mobility but within bounds (e.g. allow a mix of skilled and unskilled immigration)

but i dont have answers for the Irish border issue which i didnt forsee at that time

Honestly, most people are fed up with talk of Brexit and just want it to be complete and just move on from it. Personally I find people in real life who constantly talk about politics to be a turn off.

I want to read pro-Brexit threads that are thoughtful, balanced, logical, incorporate qualified expertise.

Please OP, go find those threads (they must exist on Reddit or Brexitcentral, or somewhere?) and post links back here. I've looked but can't seem to find them. Your opportunity to convince us that intelligent, light-hearted pro-Brexitness is possible. 52% of the country right?

Pete/Richard(?) North on Twitter sometimes start good pro-Brexit threads, I think.

I think it's partly because the Remainers are far more motivated to argue their cause because they lost and feel aggrieved/alarmed, so they are more likely to seek out like-minded strangers on the internet to join forces with. Leavers aren't aggrieved by the referendum result so were far more likely to see no reason in engaging in debate at that point. They subsequently are more aggrieved at how the leaving process has been managed, but that's a different question.

{ felt UK didn't have any leadership in the EU and culturally so different from the continent.}

Every single one of the EU28 is at least slightly if not significantly 'culturally different' from all the others. To fail to understand this is just plain ignorant and insulting. Scots and Welsh are different to English.

Leavers, as a 'group' have to understand that many of the things they voted for individually are unachievable because they are mutually exclusive.

but yes we are in a horrible mess and I regret voting Leave and have switched to Remain.

And this is why Leavers are so afraid of a second referendum - they know they’d lose.

Without one, those who do regret voting Leave have no way to voice their change of heart.

And it all turns on that. So we can't leave unless you can fix that. Maybe you should have thought about it a bit more. Because it was obvious and, if you were on here, it was mentioned loads.

The lack of Pro-Brexit threads is due to a lack of content for such threads.

If Leavers were honest the discussion would primarily about immigration but, as this looks racist, they tend to pad their reasons out with other points which have no substance and are immediately rebuked and so the cycle continues.

You look on any pro-Brexit social media platform - it’s all about immigration - they don’t even hide it. And it’s disgusting.

The reason is that there is no upside to Brexit and no deal will be a disaster.
My good friend has just shut down her business as the costs of her products have gone up so much with the fall in the pound. Another friend is Spanish and worried about having to leave after working and paying tax for the last 10 years. I would never be friends with a Brexiteer.

I voted leave. I voted leave because I don't like the thought of "an ever closer union", and because EU high ups already talk as if the EU is a nation in its own right. I'm fine with the status quo, but uneasy with the way things are going. I don't want to be dominated by the power couple that is France and Germany.

The attitude of Junker etc during negotiations has made me want to leave even more. I don't want to be part of a gang which behaves like that to someone who wants to leave the gang. They are concerned that if we make a success if leaving, other countries will follow.
