Just as an aside, I tried typing Brexiteers into the subject bar and it auto corrected to Brexiteers rest home.

@coppersulphate Many people on here don't live in the UK even though they are still UK citizens or dual nationals, so should have no say in the matter. I know you will say it affects you. But decisions in France affect me but they don't let me vote in their elections.

You can’t actually be seriously drawing a parallel, but just in case...

You’re not French so no, you can’t vote on French domestic policy....

Your Brexit vote affects me as a British Citizen in the EU more than it does a French citizen France.

To give an example, my DC can’t actually apply to university this year, because in our EU country, EU applications are to be in by June but non EU are now in March. My DC cant apply now as they are still EU but might not be able to apply in June if they aren’t.

I will lose my job and won’t be entitled to the unemployment benefits I’ve paid 5 years of taxes for as it’s only for eu citizens in this country. I’ll also have to sack my British staff.

Anything France voted for wouldn’t even begin to fuck your life up in the way brexiters and their ilk are fucking up mine so don’t even begin to try and draw equivalence. I don’t expect you to give a shit about affecting my DCs education given your blatant disregard of hard thinking, but you can prise my right to vote from my cold dead fingers.

BeersTonight2000 if the leave voters hadn't voted to leave, it wouldn't be happening.

So aye, weak leaders (Cameron and May) bear some of the responsibility, as do the liars of the leave campaign (Boris and his fucking bus), but the fact is that Leave voters voted.

Now seem to be scurrying to find anyone else to blame, because they won't take responsibility for their own actions.

Unsurprisingly.

10IAR · 14/03/2019 09:59

How about the people who live, work and pay taxes in the UK, and had no say.
How was that fair?

It wasn't.

BeersTonight2000 · 14/03/2019 11:02

Now seem to be scurrying to find anyone else to blame, because they won't take responsibility for their own actions

Still don’t see how allocating blame to anyone for the outcome of the 2016 referendum helps UK to get out of the current mess. Even if solely allocated to people who were entitled to vote how they wanted and chose to vote leave what is your suggestion for punishment?

bellinisurge · 14/03/2019 11:04

The "punishment " will be inflicted on everyone if we no Deal. The poorest will feel it more than anyone else.

10IAR · 14/03/2019 11:05

I wasn't suggesting punishment, which frankly you seem to have plucked from thin air in order to get a reaction. Not surprisingly, since deflection is the usual tactic.

You can't cause a shit storm like Brexit and then expect the people affected by it most not to be pissed off. People are angry, they have every right to be angry.

If Leave was the best vote, why try to blame everyone but yourself for it?

BeersTonight2000 · 14/03/2019 11:27

If the poorest will suffer the most where does the stereotype image of a leave voter being an uneducated benefit scrounger who lives outside London come from. Middle and Northern England is where leave seemed to get the most support?

bellinisurge · 14/03/2019 11:28

I'm in a leave voting area in the North. Sorry to mess with your stereo types.

BeersTonight2000 · 14/03/2019 11:44

your stereo types

Not my personal stereotypes, but seems to be a general statement that is banded around

10IAR · 14/03/2019 12:08

BeersTonight2000 that's not a stereotype, that would be a crusty old gammon face voting to leave because they don't care about the proles.

The reality is that many who voted leave are not educated beyond school, and came from poorer areas. This is backed up.

The fact they were persuaded to vote for something which would fuck them up so completely is a real head pickler.

But they were.

BeersTonight2000 · 14/03/2019 12:34

The reality is that many who voted leave are not educated beyond school, and came from poorer areas

Maybe they thought that their circumstances could not get worse and voted leave on the assumption that things can only get better as they thought they were already at rock bottom?

bellinisurge · 14/03/2019 12:36

No Deal would show you how much worse it can get.
Naive to think "things can't get worse ".

Peregrina · 14/03/2019 12:39

Well I for one don't think that driving EU immigration away is levelling the playing field. W Europe is not short of health care professionals so we can afford to have people from Spain, Denmark... etc. staffing our hospitals and health centres. Not so sub-Saharan Africa and South East Asia, so to fill the gaps we will take their health professionals instead when those countries sorely need them themselves. What a fine upstanding country this Leavers UK is.

Youcangoyourownwoo · 14/03/2019 12:43

Losing some weight (food shortages)

GregoryPeckingDuck · 14/03/2019 12:47

I’m not taking sides per se (but definitely more sympathies to brexiteers at the moment). I am hoping that the UK will be able to detangle itself from the EU. Things are only going to get worse within the eurozone. The EU leadership have also proven to be quite blind which isn’t encouraging. I don’t want to have to emigrate when that ship sinks. But would also be satisfied with not leaving the EU provided that the decision is come to swiftly because I am a bit sick of it all. Long term that would probably necessitate leaving though.

1tisILeClerc · 14/03/2019 12:47

{No Deal would show you how much worse it can get.}

Look at the news reports about Venezuela. I went 25 years ago and it was not so far removed from the UK (but warmer).

GregoryPeckingDuck · 14/03/2019 12:49

@Peregrina but that’s a bit shit for the individuals in question isn’t it? Why should someone be condemned to life in subsaharan Africa just because they were born there. It’s almost racist to take that attitude. If people want to immigrate to developed nations and those nations arduapoy to take them why should they be forced to stay in a shithole just because they were born there?

1tisILeClerc · 14/03/2019 12:49

{I am hoping that the UK will be able to detangle itself from the EU.}
So what is the EU doing (of which you are a member) that is so terrible?

10IAR · 14/03/2019 12:57

Maybe they thought that their circumstances could not get worse and voted leave on the assumption that things can only get better as they thought they were already at rock bottom?

Yet you wonder why people question their level of education or intelligence?

BeersTonight2000 · 14/03/2019 13:06

Naive to think "things can't get worse

Not for those who think they are already at the bottom of the pile and live day to day and whose lives revolve around:

*where is my next meal coming from”

“can’t afford to put the fire on”

Don’t forget there are a lot of food banks in the UK. Amazing for a country that is supposed to be the 5th strongest economy of the World.

BeersTonight2000 · 14/03/2019 13:08

Yet you wonder why people question their level of education or intelligence?

Everyone over voting age is entitled to vote. There are no pre qualifications as to who can and cannot vote based on education or wealth

1tisILeClerc · 14/03/2019 13:09

{Don’t forget there are a lot of food banks in the UK. Amazing for a country that is supposed to be the 5th strongest economy of the World.}

Which is bugger all to do with the EU, but entirely sovereign UK government policies.

10IAR · 14/03/2019 13:10

How exactly did anyone think that giving the Tories all the control over policy (including welfare policy which the EU mitigated by not allowing the very worst of the cuts to go through) would improve their lives?

When you do stupid things, people tell you you're stupid.

Stupid people are then surprised by this.

Peregrina · 14/03/2019 13:10

Words racist levelled at me. Who is talking about sub Saharan Africa being a shithole? I think you need to look at your own attitude!

10IAR · 14/03/2019 13:11

BeersTonight2000 I was responding to a question you asked! It's a bloody shame there isn't an IQ test before being allowed to vote!
