Vote 12th March: Meaningful Vote on the Withdrawal Agreement

Vote 13th March: If WA fails, vote on No Deal

Vote 14th March: If WA fails, vote on A50 extension

Not much more to add at this stage that's not repeating what's been said before.

This whole thing has been a charade from start to finish, the Strasbourg "Dash" done for effect to convince waivering MPs that this is the infamous last minute EU climb down.

I agree. Such a farce all to make TM a look like some sort of hero of the final hour playing to the gallery of the Leave voters who think she's got one up on the E.U. They have given nothing that they hadn't already agreed before.

And as for the magic money tree Angry

So does Cox give it the legal OK to garner support for the WA knowing that it’s more dodgy than a very dodgy thing, or will he not support it knowing that it will get the WA voted down and more HoC turmoil?

Will this become known as Cox’s Dilemma?

I'm back in bed 😷
Who knew laryngitis could make you feel so bad?
So no chance of keeping busy today.

There's a big fire in Maidenhead this morning...

That’s someone’s pants on fire.

Cox has a fixation with his nether regions . First codpieces and now bollocks! Grin

One thing that bothers me is that the EU “ pandering” ( probably wrong word- I mean trying to appease all the factions) just fans the flames of the brinkmanship that it seems to me that all the politicians are showing. Yes the ERG and DUP have been doing it longer, but now it seems more are.

Like Tatiana I am still hoping for a last minute revoke but knew all along that it would have to be at virtually the last minute, followed immediately by a TM resignation. I don’t care how much some on here see this as unlikely I am still hoping.

BCF is entitled to her opinion and has been for the WA since it was drawn up. I on the other hand to took part in the last “ask the experts” questions sessions and their answers to my own questions had a great weight , in the forming of the opinion , I have now. That was essentially that the WA is the biggest kick of the tin can down the road of all. I agree with Starmer when he called it being led blindfold up an alley.

I hate the thought of No deal, but with the current red lines which I can’t see changing , would mean a deadlock anytime. The technology will never happen. Yes we could ask for continued extensions but eventually we will reach another cliff edge and then it will feel like now.

"a cohort" of lawyers, mother

We need a new collective name for Brexit lawyer MPs:

"a slippery of lawyers" ?

Holidayshopping · 12/03/2019 09:32

A bollocks of lawyers?

"A bawbag of Brexit lawyers" - in honour of Codpiece's fixation with nether regions Grin

BigChocFrenzy · 12/03/2019 09:36

DD says May’s new deal is “significantly better than what was represented in December”

Again illustrating why he earned the "thick as mince" title

Does he think that was the EU blinking at the last moment, as he always claimed they would ? Hmm

BigChocFrenzy · 12/03/2019 09:37

I love learning words of Scottish origin from pretty Smile

2beesornot2beesthatisthehoney · 12/03/2019 09:38

DD thinking of his future career, Can’t be seen to be always part of ERG . He desperately needs a ladder to have a large part in any future Govt.

Peregrina · 12/03/2019 09:38

Bawbag is a particularly good word, I think. It ought to be adopted more widely.

Paul Waugh @paulwaugh
Key problem for @Geoffrey_Cox this am. ^Re indefinite backstop, he told @DPJHodges: "I will not change my opinion unless we have a text that shows the risk has been eliminated." Yep, ELIMINATED.
Last night's docmnt says new guarantee only 'REDUCES the risk'^

Not one I would use in polite company though! Halo

RedToothBrush · 12/03/2019 09:45

Theo Usherwood @theousherwood

d). Lib Dem: extend A50, hold 2nd ref.
e). Lib Dem: MPs take control of Govt business.
f). Lib Dem: create a £7.5bn fund to mitigate job losses.
g). Cross-party: extend A50 for two years.
h). Cross-party: revoke A50.
i). Plaid: extend A50.
j). Angus Brendan MacNeil: 2nd Scottish independence ref if UK leaves.

DD thinks he has a future career ?
He showed a complete lack ot talent in his earlier political career and was long past his sell-by date when appointed Brexit minister

However, there are occasional articles touting him as the dark horse that nips by and becomes the next leader.
For some reason, he still seems very popular among Tory party members

Grayling illustrates that total incompetence is no drawback to a rewarding career in government

RedToothBrush · 12/03/2019 09:46

None of this look likely to trouble May with a defeat today tbh.

{'Hand on heart, I'll find a way to beat the backstop': DAN HODGES reveals the Attorney General's pledge as he reveals a plan to rescue Brexit}

It would be simpler if they put it on the front of all news media that whatever the UK agrees to it will renege on as soon as possible.
At least it would be honest (for once).
