There's a deal.

The press are over excited.

May has united the country.

Everyone hates it.
(Apart from David Allen Green)

Parliament might yet reject it.

Nothing is yet decided and everything is still to be sorted.

Faisal Islam @faisalislam
May loyalist: “Bercow refusing to call anyone who might support ...”

But Rory... Wink

My husband voted for brexit but given a second vote would stay in Europe. My father in law voted Brexit but would now vote to stay in Europe. My mother the most passionate brexiteer of the lot doesn't like the thought of chlorinated chicken and hormone fed beef from America. She'd now vote to stay in Europe. Can we stop the insanity and have enougher referendum.

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:37

David Allen Green @davidallengreen
Wonder if the MPs against the draft Withdrawal Agreement will, sheepishly and in humiliation, end up supporting it, if No Deal is the only alternative.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 15/11/2018 11:37

Baker asking for no deal contingencies to be put in place now

derxa · 15/11/2018 11:38

the thought of chlorinated chicken and hormone fed beef from America Well don't buy it then

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:39

Tim Shipman @ShippersUnbound
Some Tories hoped that Labour MPs like Pat McFadden might vote for the deal. He has called it a “failure” and “a humiliation”

TM is like a tank. She just keeps rolling. She looks less flustered than I've seen her sometimes at PMQs.

prettybird · 15/11/2018 11:42

You won't necessarily be able to tell whether it is or isn't (except maybe by price Hmm) as one of the things that supposedly the USA was demanding was no labelling to that effect Angry

It was one of the contributory reasons for "needing" to repatriate food labelling legislation from the devolved governments. Angry

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:43

Soames is a long term May Loyalist who has very nearly (but not quite) rebelled against her. He is a remainer at heart yes.

OP posts:
RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:44

Right I need to go out for half an hour.

I am expecting to return to confirmation of 48 letters.

Don't start a new thread without me!

OP posts:
Xenia · 15/11/2018 11:44

And Soames who is a good chap rightly knows how important our security and defence is. Indeed the issue most important for me in voting remain is i think it made it less likely we would have repeats of WWI and WII and little is as important as that.

Rosehip10 · 15/11/2018 11:45

Leadsom and Mordaunt are cowards. Sitting their nodding while TM shits on with something they don't agree with.. Care more about their ministerial perks than anything else.

NoSpend19 · 15/11/2018 11:45

She's actually incredibly impressive. I'm a lawyer. Its really difficult to do what she's doing in answering those questions so calmly and eloquently.

Not nearly as much of a car crash as I was expecting.

MyBrexitIsIll · 15/11/2018 11:46

Her going is the worst news of the day.
No time to find a new pm, vite and start negociations again.
The new PM would only have the same choice than she has.
And then what?

What wouod happen is the worst thing a democracy couod see. A choice of new PM, behind doors that will actually dictate the choice for the future of the country. Wo any input from the population.

What a great lesson in how to put a new totalitarian regime wo the population realising that.....

derxa · 15/11/2018 11:47

Xenia · 15/11/2018 11:47

NoS, I agree. I have at times seemed to be her only fan over the last few years.

bananafish · 15/11/2018 11:47

the thought of chlorinated chicken and hormone fed beef from America Well don't buy it then

Bold of you to assume that we would be given a realistic choice. Let's be real, I would have no confidence in truthful labelling.

ThereWillBeAdequateFood · 15/11/2018 11:47

Right I need to go out for half an hour. Don't start a new thread without me

Probably best you only pop out for 20 minutes then Grin

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 11:48

Jon Worth @jonworth
So May cannot - hand on heart - say that what she has negotiated is better than the situation the UK has in the EU just now.

Rather revealing answer.

#Brexit

Er not really

MissBartlettsconscience · 15/11/2018 11:48

I dislike her entire approach to the Brexit issue and think she has largely brought her current situation on herself, but bloody hell - compared to the rest of the conservative party...

SusanWalker · 15/11/2018 11:48

The new PM will be chosen solely by the tories. I think it could get worse.

MissBartlettsconscience · 15/11/2018 11:50

They won't have time to go to the membershp though so it would have to be a party coronation - are they united enough to do it or would it trigger enough resignations to result in labour winning a no confidence vote.

David Miliband had better hurry up if he really does have any intention of a new party...

You can bet your life that along with labels not being required to state food origins and ingredients, there would be s raft of laws controlling social media, so people would be locked up for tweeting whether a particular brand/batch is chlorinated or not.
