There's a deal.

The press are over excited.

May has united the country.

Everyone hates it.
(Apart from David Allen Green)

Parliament might yet reject it.

Nothing is yet decided and everything is still to be sorted.

But the comment was about Corbyn and Crash out being equally scary.

Surely on a time basis alone Crash out is more scary?

SusanWalker · 15/11/2018 10:11

Liz Truss would make a terrible DWP minister. I can't bear her. She comes across as very uncaring and hard.

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 10:11

bellini Until the EJ rule we can unilaterally revoke,
or Britain disintegrates into chaos and the EU offer Remain as an emergency
we are out of likely options

DGRossetti · 15/11/2018 10:11

Queuing for my morning swim, there were 2 older regulars at the head, and there was a TV on in the foyer with this news (well as of 7:15 ...)

Both of them were vigorously agreeing with each other that they should do what the people want ...

Deciding discretion was the better part of valour, I decided not to correct them with half the people want.

lonelyplanetmum · 15/11/2018 10:13

A sensible approach would be to Remain and heavily restrict FOM. As we have always been able to do.

A sensible approach would have been to try things step by step.

Assuming immigration was an underlying substantial electorate concern to address ( against any real evidence) then try operating a proper follow up system before triggering Article 50.

Tanith · 15/11/2018 10:13

Liz Truss totally ballsed up Early Years and wasted a fortune on “More Great Childcare” (yes, she really did call it that!).

Plonkysaurus · 15/11/2018 10:14

If the WA is withdrawn there would be enormous marches. Bigger than the most recent.

Fuck it, I'd go as far as predicting a general strike. It's the last line of (peaceful) defence ordinary people have against chaos.

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 15/11/2018 10:14

I’m now have ‘be careful what you wish for’ on repeat in my brain. Honestly terrified of a People’s vote with No Deal as an option. There are far too many rabid Brexiteers and Leavers who don’t understand the consequences. At this stage I’d take the deal, much as I really want us to stay in the EU

I was one of the 700,00. It will be an irony if we ended up with the argument we’re levelling at Leave voters re the deal - you voted for it, get behind it - being used against those of us who marched for a People’s Vote.

Robert Pestonn@Peston*

Two wheels off bus. Driver in dire straits

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 10:16

Jesus Christ, what a fucking MESS

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 10:19

Babooshka The problem is, Leavers haven't changed their minds
It's just some of them have died off and young voters have replaced them

Those who were conned by Cambridge Analytica and lies about the EU going back decades STILL BeLEave

It's different rerunning whren there has been ballot stuffing
The ref weas voters making terrible choices
The same voters would do so again

Brexiteer sources hoping Mordaunt goes next and soon, not clear yet if she actually will - Brexiteer ministers all now under huge pressure

Heather Stewart @GuardianHeather
Hearing a rumour Michael Gove was the only Brexit minister to speak for the deal in that five hour meeting...

The trouble with labour, imo, (aside from the anti-Semitism and mysogyny) is that a lot of its supporters just don't pay much attention to the actual position they have on Brexit. So many FB friends moan on about how awful Brexit is, how it must be stopped etc etc, whilst also singing the praises of St Corbyn, not realising his policy is to pursue Brexit. Ffs.

To those feeling sorry for May, she created this mess by appeasing to the ERG Conkip side of her party. So I'm sorry to say, she is just reaping what she has down. (Back to delurking)

No, because with Corbyn we would also crash out but under the control of a leader with extreme views and a serious distorted view of the world. Its not as though there is a magic solution that Corbyn could pull out of the hat - he would simply let us crash out and blame the tories.
