There's a deal.

The press are over excited.

May has united the country.

Everyone hates it.
(Apart from David Allen Green)

Parliament might yet reject it.

Nothing is yet decided and everything is still to be sorted.

smile I agree with you too about TM.
I might not agree with her. I certainly dislike a lot of her policies.

BUT she had a really crap hand to start with and yet she is still standing and moving towards what was her aim, getting a deal of some sorts.

I’m really not sure anyone else would have done much better. And certainly not the others that were in line for the PM then.

SusanWalker · 15/11/2018 10:00

McVey gone. Shame she's still an MP and won't have the delight of applying for UC.

bellinisurge · 15/11/2018 10:00

McVey has resigned

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 10:00

McVey has gone

He would be happy with a crash out - blame the Tories and keep his wing of the party in control for decades

i don't think so, his wing of the PLP is tiny, he needs the membership and the membership wont to remain.

McVey has resigned. bring it on!

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 10:01

What is at stake now is who will the voters blame

Tory
Labour
==> Remainers / traitors

  • Leavers have been calling MAY the "Remainer PM" for months
  • and they blame the "Remainer" civil service
prettybird · 15/11/2018 10:01

McVey has gone Shock

prettybird · 15/11/2018 10:02

....although I shouldn't have added the Shock

It's not really a surprise Grin

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 10:02

Corbyn is maybe only for 5 years.

Have you looked at the people behind him? The ones that are just fine with all the anti-semitism in the party? And the abuse and unfair treatment of women?

Yeah thats all just fine too.

OP posts:
BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 10:04

jas That huge membership won't vote Tory if Corbyn just lets things slide a few months to No Deal
They'll blame the Tories

The big problem:
noone has to vote for No Deal; it's the default

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 10:04

Esther McVey @EstherMcVey1
Earlier this morning I informed the Prime Minister I was resigning from her Cabinet

I have to go out for meeting in a few minutes. Will anyone be left by the time I get back?

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 10:05

Anyone see a even vaguely palatable way out of this now?

OP posts:
hanahsaunt · 15/11/2018 10:06

McVey has gone

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 10:07

Tom Newton Dunn@tnewtondunn (sun)

Theresa May is now in very severe trouble.
All eyes now on @michaelgove, @Jeremy_Hunt and @sajidjavid

If they go too today too, it’s over for her.

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 10:07

Sam Coates Times @SamCoatesTimes
A now redundant news story about Esther I was going to write:

- McVey wasn’t brought into loop by Treasury about Universal Credit budget boost and heard in budget speech itself
- DWP made her to pre-recorded clips because they were worried about her doing live interviews

Wow.

I also believe Philip Hammond suggested Liz Truss would make a better Work and Pensions Secretary recently...

bellinisurge · 15/11/2018 10:08

A sensible approach would be to Remain and heavily restrict FOM. As we have always been able to do.
If some Leavers want to whine, let them.

Plonkysaurus · 15/11/2018 10:08

Have any of the ERG yet floated a realistic alternative?

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 10:08

What time do you think Mordaunt will go?

OP posts:
DGRossetti · 15/11/2018 10:09

Have any of the ERG yet floated a realistic alternative?

Well they've had two years ....

TheElementsSong · 15/11/2018 10:09

and they blame the "Remainer" civil service

There are 17.4 million of them, as they keep reminding us. If they haven’t been willing to “pull together” (or rather pull their own fingers out) to create the glorious Sunlit Uplands of their fantasies, who the fuck’s fault is that?

Oh yes, they did the hard work by drawing an X in a box once and all they needed to do since, was sit back like baby birds waiting for worms. It’s always somebody else’s fault.

SusanWalker · 15/11/2018 10:09

McNey should have resigned when she lied to parliament.

I'm starting to wonder if TM will manage to find anyone to fill the cabinet positions. It comes to something when the only qualification needed is whether you will agree with TM.

Suggestion on sky that resignations might be being coordinated as so far one an hour.

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 10:09

Anybody expecting a dedicated Remainer leader to replace her ?
To revoke, or call a Peoples ref ?

A Brexiter, even a moderate Remainer will try to hold the party together and avoid a GE
Refusing this WA and just going for No Deal is still the most likely course any replacement would take

Tanith · 15/11/2018 10:10

Kenn Just lie back and try hard not to think of England 😫
