There's a deal.

The press are over excited.

May has united the country.

Everyone hates it.
(Apart from David Allen Green)

Parliament might yet reject it.

Nothing is yet decided and everything is still to be sorted.

Ciaran Jenkins @C4Ciaran

Ruth Davidson and David Mundell said they couldn’t support deal if integrity of UK under threat.

The Brexit Secretary has resigned saying just that.

Can they really stick this out?

If a deal won't get through HoC then it going to people's vote with just deal or no deal will give a mandate for a deal. at least proving no deal is not wanted. It would be a risk but the health Secretary can't guarantee life loss over a no deal.

-'Also I'm not above rugby tackling no deal voters on the way to polling station--

bahhum I support your dream!

David Allen Green @davidallengreen
Three leading Leavers were ministers at @DExEUgov:
@DavidDavisMP @SteveBakerHW and @DominicRaab.

They had ministerial responsibility for negotiating terms of exit - not Remainers.

And now all three have resigned, leaving behind this mess.

They had their chance, and flunked it.

Raab must think May will be ousted or want a crash out from the EU perhaps (and as someone suggests above he may be used as a leadership stalking horse - he can always escapt to Brazil and I assume his children have dual nationality, not an option for most of us in the UK)

Hazardswan · 15/11/2018 09:37

Remember 17 yr olds can register to vote. If their turning 18 soon don't want them to miss out if there's a ref or GE.

Next, can you tell us what you do want and how that is possible? Otherwise you will go down simply as frivolous and unserious.

There is no plan.

My post was based on the premise that ECJ will rule in favour of unilateral revocation of A50, otherwise TM could not revoke it herself without agreement of 27.

You’d never know!

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 09:39

red That's my fear:
the far right / UKIP successor - gaining millions of votes from angry Leavers

Next worse alternative:

  • A Peoples Vote is forced through

  • Whatever the result of the Ref, a hard right Tory party could win power for decades by whipping up resentment at the "mc liberal elite" ignoring democracy

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 09:40

I've thought for some time that Raab was working for a crash out. But I think May is now facing a no confidence vote at the very least.

I'm expecting Mordaunt and McVey to resign now too. I'm surprised they are taking so long to write their statements tbh.

I'm not going to even bother to read the draft deal. By the time we are through tomorrow I reckon May will be having to invite the cafeteria staff and the cleaners to join her in the cabinet as there will be no one left around the table.

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 09:41

I suppose if the UK govt just collapses now into total chaos,
the EU might be so alarmed they would agree to revocation

DGRossetti · 15/11/2018 09:41

Maybe they are sharing crayons ?

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 09:41

We are utterly screwed I fear. Not seeing many lights at the end of the tunnel on this.

I knew it wasn't worth it yesterday, tbh.

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 09:42

The draft deal will be in the shredder by tea time.

Hazardswan · 15/11/2018 09:42

Why would May face a no confidence vote if we're crashing out though? The ERG are getting what they want.

lonelyplanetmum · 15/11/2018 09:42

Another statement - she did one last night?

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 09:43

What do you reckon the chances of a resignation in the chamber are? For full on drama and publicity.

Always darkest before dawn red Flowers

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 09:44

Because May wants a deal. A no confidence vote is to force her to accept a no deal is the only way forward.

OP posts:
BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 09:44

Hazard We won't crash out if the deal goes through

If they think May will put the deal to the HoC, the ERG will try to topple her asap

If she abandons the deal now, she is probably finished too
