There's a deal.

The press are over excited.

May has united the country.

Everyone hates it.
(Apart from David Allen Green)

Parliament might yet reject it.

Nothing is yet decided and everything is still to be sorted.

A second referendum is political suicide though. It won't happen

I agree with kenn and red It’s all policital suicide. I can’t see a way out of this for the Tory party. And sadly that’s what’s important- what’s best for the Tory party not what’s best for the country. Sad

It’s so frustrating, am convinced that if Labour backed Remain a huge number of voters would move to Labour. I’m convinced that for a lot of people who voted leave they just wanted to stick two fingers up at the establishment. That’s been achieved so I’m sure many would now back the most stable course which is Remain.

(I’m probably being stupidly optimistic though).

MyBrexitIsIll · 15/11/2018 08:57

Fish an option that still hasn’t been confirm by the Courts so PM or not she can’t assume this is an option.

Is that another case of unicorns and fairies? Or a way to ‘frighten’ People into accepting her deal because the other two options can’t be acceptable (1- to destructive for the country, 2- against the will of the people)?

bellinisurge · 15/11/2018 08:57

Raab has resigned

Has it been confirmed labour are voting down the deal? Link?

Reading the health ministers quote has made me cry.

No one should fucking die because we had a shit referendum where people were lied to and the damn thing was only advisory. Thats got to be an indirect breach of the equalities act surely?

jasjas1973 · 15/11/2018 08:59

Ha Ha...

Xenia · 15/11/2018 08:59

it is going to be a bumpy ride, that is for sure. I was wrong about the referendum so had better not call this Parliamentary vote but as all the options are awful I suspect DUP will moan and moan but then support the Government and we will get it through. If not we may crash out which could please an awful lot of brexit supporters but not me, I voted remain.

The issue divides both parties -loads of Tory and Labour supporters were were brexit and loads were for remain.

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 15/11/2018 09:00

What - Raab has resigned?

Hazardswan · 15/11/2018 09:00

Oh no whatever will the country do without Raab? Shock

Sarcasm

FloralCup · 15/11/2018 09:01

I don't understand - Raab was the Brexit secretary, surely he helped broker 'the deal' so why is it suddenly not to his liking?

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 15/11/2018 09:01

Sorry, I am hideously behind (thanks for thread, Red) so this could even be old news but just spotted the Raab resignation

bellinisurge · 15/11/2018 09:02

@SingingBabooshkaBadly - it's just happened

Butterymuffin · 15/11/2018 09:04

Raab resignation breaking news. Radio just said he said it wasn't what was promised in the conservative manifesto Shock

bellinisurge · 15/11/2018 09:04

Apparently he's got leadership aspirations

Fuck

fredleighton · 15/11/2018 09:04

I just can't get over the fact that David Cameron managed to walk away from this debacle with no consequences. He and Osborne should be hanging their heads in shame. They should not have been able to walk away from the mess they created.

lonelyplanetmum · 15/11/2018 09:04

It's the ones with 4 letter surnames Vara, Raab.

Gove is very quiet - biding his time for No 10.

jasjas1973 · 15/11/2018 09:05

The more the Tory party self destruct, the more likely we will stay in the EU... they can't Govern.

The DUP wont support the Tories but i suspect this deal will never be voted on.

DGRossetti · 15/11/2018 09:06

Radio just said he said it wasn't what was promised in the conservative manifesto

Like staying in the CU ?

To lose one Brexit secretary ....

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 15/11/2018 09:07

Oh god, I just can’t keep up. Too much other life stuff happening. Got so behind I don’t stand a chance of catching up on this thread. Please forgive me if I ask questions that have already been answered....

lonelyplanetmum · 15/11/2018 09:07

'Poisoned chalice' has been around for centuries. It needs to be more up to date and street.

How about 'it's a bit of a Brexsec?'

FishesaPlenty · 15/11/2018 09:08

an option that still hasn’t been confirm by the Courts so PM or not she can’t assume this is an option.

I fully understand that. And I don't believe that the reason the Gov. are contesting the case is because they expect (or want) to 'win' it.

SusanWalker · 15/11/2018 09:17

I think Gove regrets his support of leave, and instead of doubling down on the rhetoric like BJ, is trying to fly under the radar and doesn't want no deal.

I totally agree about the creeping rise of Fascism. This was actually recorded in 2010. Who would have thought an ‘80s pop band would be such visionaries?
So a man who has only just realised that the U.K. is an island wants to be PM?
I honestly think that, in a world where Donald Trump is Commander in Chief, pretty much anything is possible.
And not in a good way.
Does anyone still remember how the 2012 Olympics felt? How does that happen?

Why was someone who didn't know the importance of Dover-Calais allegedly closely involved in drafting the agreement anyway? The calibre of job candidates is so low.
