The DUP are playing silly buggers.
The EU are getting nervous and turning down the pressure.
The ERG still want Schroedingers Brexit.
The Budget is coming. So is a government defeat or climb down.
The M26 is closing.

Keep thinking of the glorious freedom your blue passport will give up whilst you search waste tips.

Remember the parliamentary bullying stuff that Newsnight exposed?

Chris Cook @xtophercook
There were around 200 cointributors to the Laura Cox inquiry - and it's pretty brutal.

No deal announcement today???

Sad

I'll get my drinks ready, I have mixers, ice and spirits in thankfully.

RedToothBrush · 15/10/2018 13:33

Chris Cook @xtophercook
This is utterly damning of the House management.

Buteo, I've long thought that this is her get-out-of-jail free card. I sometimes think her husband might have been gently suggesting it to her for a long time, and I really wouldn't blame her if she did.

SusanWalker · 15/10/2018 13:35

Perhaps we should have a variety of backstops, put them in a hat, pull one out and go with that. We could televise it and announce the winner is....

As soon as you label it the winner public support would swing behind it, problem solved.

Well it's no worse than our current way of floating an idea, then watch it be pulled to pieces by various MPs and the media. More X factor meets the lottery than bear baiting.

Britpack just caught @MichelBarnier walking back to the Commission from lunch at an Italian restaurant. Are talks at an impasse, we asked? ‘Be patient’ was his reply.

BBC Brussels reporter Adam Fleming pretty much sums up the UK in 2018 in this reply.

Adam Fleming @adamfleming
BUT DID YOU ASK WHAT PIZZA HE HAD?

BREAKING The Cabinet should debate the merits of 'super-Canada' option for Brexit, former minister Mark Francois tells @BBCRadio4 #WATO

Just the minor problem that no one has got their head around that without a withdrawal agreement there is no talk of a post-Brexit deal until after we leave.

It is better to go down fighting and honouring the democratic decision of our British people. Then to be long remembered for waving a white flag and surrendering to EU demands. All Brexiteers in Gov and on the backbenches its time to #StandUp4Brexit and finally #ChuckChequers.

Nikita she never looks particularly well. Can't imagine stress is good for Type 1 diabetes either.

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 15/10/2018 13:41

Brandon Lewis has now been seeing Theresa May for 50mins and counting he's so powerful now he gets his chauffeur to wait, parked illegally

Why would May be seeing the Conservative Party Chairman today in the midst of all this?

Something defintely afoot. And this meeting makes me wonder about the scale of it (as in are they discussing the possibility of the party splitting?).

Nick Boles MP @NickBoles
Yet another Leaver colleague has just told me that he supports the idea that the UK should spend the interim in EEA/EFTA and a temporary customs union and negotiate a long term free trade agreement from there. Significant.

Hmmm.

I suppose we should take this as a positive but it beggars belief that some MPs are only starting to consider this a good option 2.5 years down the line. This was the most obvious, sensible position from the outset.

No I think she may have actually topped it with this one.

Sex pests and bullies: John Bercow faces new pressure to quit over grope dossier

So yes they are trying to bury. The role of the speaker could yet be important as there was a clause in one of the amendments which might let an important decision over Brexit fall at the feet of the Speaker.

But don't ask me what that was, cos I forget. I just know it was important. But the way things seem to be going it could be completely irrelevant by the end of the day anyway, whatever it was.

It will be up to the Speaker at the time to decide whether MPs could amend a motion if no deal is reached by 21 January.

He's not.

And why the fuck would he put the wrong nationality?

You know those lame posters - Keep Calm and Carry On. ? It was about this sort of shit.

RedToothBrush · 15/10/2018 14:03

Ah yes, so who the Speaker is, is highly relevant.

If you wanted a deal and to protect Bercow, you might want to release a damning report involving him on a bad news day to take pressure off him?

Correct?

Or exactly the opposite. Its trying to get rid of him?
