Westministenders: Talks Walk Out?

We are now on the countdown to whether we get a backstop Withdrawal Deal. May is hoping to get the EU to backdown on this saying that we will stay in the customs union until a deal is agreed on NI. That would mean come 29th March, we'd have no transistion period, but we'd still have a hard border in NI because we were out of the single market. And if the EU don't agree to it we are into the chances of accidental Brexit being sky high. The only way out would be revoking a50. May has hinted that if Tory MPs don't give her support we could end up with no brexit at all - whether she means revoking a50 or Beano isn't clear.

So onward to 18th October...

Please miss I did!
Resetting the motherboard clocks to post 2000 and seeing if the programs we used still worked.
Boringly, they did just work!
Didn't get paid extra for it either though.

iirc, a few of the NHS systems were overlooked, with tragic results for some pregnant women

That does illustrate what would have happened if none of the systems had been upgraded

Arborea · 05/10/2018 20:07

Well here's a handy guide to help you tell Leavers apart: mobile.twitter.com/pacarnahan/status/1047865906343370752

1sILe I at least had some enjoyment at finding a few things that wouldn't work, most thabkfully did. All replaced very quickly mind you. A company I worked at later in had a very hastily mishmashed system they were still fixing years later after discovering a major part of it was going to be victim to the bug quite late in and flinging a rapid fix in.

They don't fly.

Is it just me or are MN Leavers getting increasingly agitated? There seem to be a lot of posters who are going to need new exclamation mark and caps lock keys Grin

Erm. Hello . Just your wandering bregretter here. Thanks for all prior advice. Popping over to Ireland next week to try see what I can sort out in business. I'm trying to put contingencies in place for my nieces and nephews who are were all remainers but think I am over anxious. And as a final apology for the consequences of my vote am trying to create a community emergency plan and supplies under the general 30 days 30 ways be prepared / resilience flag. Just a note that for the admittedly apparently loads of people who seem to think the planes can't stop because spain needs our tourist money there are also a certain number who read new information and change views.

pointythings · 05/10/2018 20:29

falcon you give us all hope. Flowers You are also not alone.

TheElementsSong · 05/10/2018 20:30

They WON didnt they?

I can't stay away from that travel thread, it's just so entertaining! It just gets better and better, the sheer incomprehension of the world and the unfocussed fury is quite palpable.

Wine falcon

mathanxiety · 05/10/2018 20:33

So the world is divided into nation states, is it?

A quick spin of the globe reveals that many alleged nation states have borders consisting of straight lines. How grateful cartographers must be to those very obliging nations...

A quick glance at the so-called 'United Kingdom' reveals a picture that doesn't correspond to the definition of 'nation state' by any stretch of the imagination. So many languages, so many independence movements, so many desperate attempts to keep it all cobbled together, from military occupation to 'devolution'...

LOL.

falcon5 · 05/10/2018 20:34

Wine cheers all

TheElementsSong · 05/10/2018 20:36

Nice try math, but I think you'll find that we need the expert TruPatriot ProperNationhood Expert to define these things for us Wink.

frumpety · 05/10/2018 20:37

Link to the travel thread ? very much in need of a giggle, got a stinking cold/sore throat brewing.

DarlingNikita · 05/10/2018 20:40

Thanks Red. Hope you're doing better.

1tisILeClerc · 05/10/2018 20:50

{Very cross and frothy indeed}
Don't mock the inflicting!

1tisILeClerc · 05/10/2018 20:54

Frumpety, it is one of two on AIBU.
One is travel and the other 'in or out'.
Apparently the border between Ireland and NI is a swiss cheese!

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 05/10/2018 20:58

Apparently the border between Ireland and NI is a swiss cheese!
Ah that explains it. Too European. It should be made from a Cheddar or Wensleydale surely?

1tisILeClerc · 05/10/2018 21:10

{ It should be made from a Cheddar or Wensleydale surely?}
Very topical. The place of origin labeling (not the right title) is being discussed by the EU (while they wait for Mrs May to stop dancing) and foodstuffs such as cheddar and cornish pasties may lose their protected status.
