After disaster after Salzberg and a very predictable humilation over the Chequers Deal which the ERG reject, moderate Brexiteers reject, Remainers reject and the EU reject....

May does a press conference...

...which is delayed by a power shortage inside No. 10.

And....

Never done links before, this might be it and it seems MN are saving up for a new computer by stealing all the 'enter' keys. It has been noted on a separate AIBU thread.

BBC or SKY had it on their website.

UK-EU flights could cease in event of no-deal Brexit, says government

In latest set of ‘no deal’ notices, UK says planes may be grounded over licensing issues

Dogs, cats and ferrets would need rabies tests to go to EU
Motorists would require insurance green card to drive in EU
British mineral waters would not be accepted for sale in EU

(UK govt) Guidance: Exporting animals and animal products if there’s no Brexit deal

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/exporting-animals-and-animal-products-if-theres-no-brexit-deal/exporting-animals-and-animal-products-if-theres-no-brexit-deal

The EU would require the UK to be a listed third country.
In the unlikely event of a ‘no deal’ scenario, 🤦🏻‍♀️ the UK would apply for this status but cannot be certain of the EU response or its timing.

Without listed status no exports to the EU could take place.

woman11017 · 24/09/2018 19:47

If there's no meat, and we can't take ferrets out of the country..........Grilled?

BigChocFrenzy · 24/09/2018 19:56

< shudders for poor little ferrets in hungry Britain - stick them down your trouser leg, where they belong >

woman I keep telling myself that even this Dunning-Kruger govt will still enable food and med imports to flow, via an emergency WTO waiver

To avoid / reduce logjams - as proposed by RNorth and others - they would have to prevent UK exports to the EU,
so British lorries would travel empty (Uk checked) to the channel ports, to remove the need for EU checks, then return with food

It's UK exports that will stop, i.e. the stuff that earns the money to pay for imports ....

1tisILeClerc · 24/09/2018 20:11

{It's UK exports that will stop,} Are those the exports from the UK Powerhouse that needs to errrm...... make them to EU specifications otherwise we can't sell them........

BigChocFrenzy · 24/09/2018 20:16

They are the exports - which we can't get certified because we have lost our certification rights -
and it will take 6 months after Brexit for the Uk to be added to the EU databases of 3rd countries
Until then, we don't exist

"The clear message coming from the Labour party conference is: get your money out of the UK pronto. The message that is likely to come from the Tory party conference is: get your money out of the UK pronto"

Hazardswan · 24/09/2018 20:37

Ok... can there be a talking Hazardswan down from the tree thread because my stress levels are CLIMBING.

SusanWalker · 24/09/2018 20:37

Helen whatshername from the Spectator(?) pointed out that usually the Tories would accuse Labour of having policies that will drive business and people out of the uk. But that they now can't because their policy is also driving business and people out of the uk.

I likes company mrs

1tisILeClerc · 24/09/2018 20:41

So while the country goes to the dogs (and I don't mean greyhound racing) little huddles of MPs are arguing in corners rather than making a plan to sort out the Brexit mess. Fabulous!
