MNHQ here: results of our Brexit survey - 71% want another referendum

Hello

We ran a survey on Mumsnet in August-September; more than 2000 of you took part. We were asking about your thoughts about Brexit and whether there should be a second referendum.

We're releasing the results today, and they show that 71% said they wanted another referendum (although 26% don't).

60% of survey respondents said they felt misled by claims made by campaigners in the 2016 referendum, including 41% who said they felt misled by claims made by the Leave campaign and 18% who said they felt misled by claims made by both Remain and Leave.

Summing up, one respondent said 'I envisaged jobs, travel and opportunity, not having a potato delivered by the army.'

You can read all about it here.

Thanks
MNHQ

I repeat, pots and kettles...

surfer, No, I wasn’t tempted as it was a remainers thread to show their love & devotion to their idol.

Well, you posting on it would have changed that slightly and added another dimension.

Although I'm not sure I should be corresponding seriously with you as I wonder if your reply to me wasn't at least a little facetious.

DarlingNikita

I didn’t want to change the direction of the thread as that wouldn’t have been fair really.
It was obvious from the start that it was just a fan girl thing so I wasn’t going to ruin that vibe.
It was all very light & fluffy.
& sorry if I came across as facetious, I actually have no idea what that means but sorry anyway.
Oh, & I’ve re-opened the pub so pop over for a drink.

I thought that the 'Btw. I love you. & remember to plant a tree & sit in the shade, & go low when others go high ( or something )' stuff came across as facetious, is what I meant.

I don't understand why you think 'changing the direction' of the GM thread wouldn’t have been fair, or the other reasons you give, TBH. GM is hardly a stranger to different opinions strongly expressed.

A lot of Leave voters post here, like surferjet. Why didn't they take part in the poll?

Didn't see the survey advertised anywhere, otherwise I'd have done it.
