Why are they allowed to get away with it?

No replies wanted, just need this put out there.

'shameful' lol
Channel 4 cater to their audience just as any media outlet does... they are actually businesses you know! The majority of people who watch channel 4 are 'remainers' they arent going to piss off their audience by being too vocal in support of brexit.

Flaminghaggis · 17/07/2018 21:51

When the press is controlled it’s called propaganda.

Would you prefer they gloss over all the rules leave broke or lies they told?

350 million for the NHS my arse. And that’s the least of it.

Moussemoose · 17/07/2018 21:53

The solution stick in a complaint and see how far you get.......

Point out the specific incidents and register your complaint. Or you can just bang on in an ill informed way on MN.

surferjet · 17/07/2018 21:55

I will be complaining - and switching them off.

Marmite I'm with you will start watching it now, was sickened by the endless coverage given to Farage et al by BBC.

Moussemoose · 17/07/2018 21:57

If you are complaining please could we see the nature of your complaint? You have made general comments but not followed up with detail.

It might help those of us who can't see your point if you quote the lines you have issue with then we can understand.

Unescorted · 17/07/2018 21:57

If Brexit is so wanted by the people why are you worried by a minority voice being heard. I thought it was all about democracy and giving a platform to the people. Are you worried that the £625 k overspend might have had an influence? If the over spend wasn't a factor does it matter if the same voices pre referendum are still saying the same thing.

Dottierichardson · 17/07/2018 21:58

So perhaps I will lessen the tremendous sense of loss Channel 4 will no doubt experience when OP switches channel.

BertrandRussell · 17/07/2018 22:03

Do we know what Guru-Murty thinks personally? It wasn’t obvious on the bit of Channel 4 news I watched.

Incidentally, can I recommend Beyond 100 Days to my fellow news junkies? Fab stuff.

Maidsrus · 17/07/2018 22:12

Is the bbc pro-Brexit? I find the news about it just as depressing on there Confused

I’d love to find some good news about it. I think TMs non-Brexit Brexit white paper
might be the least catastrophic - if it has any chance of materialising that is

eddiemairswife · 17/07/2018 22:13

Some years ago I decided that BBC news was aimed at bright 12 year olds. I'm an adult; I watch channel 4 news.

Scoopofchaff · 17/07/2018 22:17

Indeed Eddiemairswife we call it Huw Edward's Newsround.

washewihersen · 17/07/2018 22:30

BBC news stories are so badly written they are nonsensical. At least C4 news asks people the difficult questions. Given state of the government, all over the place after Chequers and the Brexshit situation in parliament today, I just don't see how anyone can report anything positive in what's happening (or not happening as the case may be). No clear majority for either the Tories or Brexshit and yet we must all keep calm and carry out the Will if the People.

EveningShadows · 17/07/2018 23:12

OP, Vine is an educated, informed professional - I’ll stake my house he’s a Remain supporter.

BrittW · 17/07/2018 23:16

LBC is the home of Farage Ffs

No, actually it is not. 98 percent are very Left and Remainers. There's only Farage and Ian Collins that I can think of who are not. Collins is a good presenter who always tries to discuss all sides of a situation, rather than joining in the braying of the Regressive Left. Maajid Nawaz is a goo presenter as well - although a Remainer, he's not one of the howling mob.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 17/07/2018 23:20

Is it? Great, I'll make sure I watch it more often, cheers OP Wink

BrittW · 17/07/2018 23:30

Whoever said that the BBC is pro-Brexit and pro-Farage must have had a whiff too much of the hard smoke. During my time at the BBC I cannot think of one individual who was even half pro-Brexit. All of the production teams (journalists, researchers, office staff) were all pro-EU. This does not make for good TV whichever way you cut it. I found the Panorama team especially to be limp left. And this incessant need to have a Goody and a Baddy in every story, and then "siding" with the so-called good guys - juvenile and puerile. How they angled their documentaries would influence millions of people, most of whom never got to know the background to how a conflict started so their history lesson was via a programme heavily loaded to convey one viewpoint.

Scoopofchaff · 18/07/2018 05:47

Interesting article here.

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 18/07/2018 06:13

This OP is hilarious Grin

The press and the media in general in the UK are overwhelmingly pro Brexit and not reporting on most of the crucial issues that are going to make or break Brexit. If you rely on British mainstream media to follow or understand Brexit basically you have no idea what's going on.

Channel 4 provides a basic overview. I find them quite neutral and restrained. The BBC is so dumbed down it's irrelevant.

OP if you want to see what anti-Brexit media looks like may I suggest you read the Irish independent?

Squeegle · 18/07/2018 06:20

@surferjet, please give me some good news to share about Brexit, I will cover it in my news bulletin.

feathermucker · 18/07/2018 06:23

The Daily Mail and others are so blatantly right wing; should we remove them from publication?

drearydeardre · 18/07/2018 06:25

this thread (not you OP) really brings out the worst of the smirking, rude, sweary remain supporters (who would be guardian reading left supporters) who cannot ever see another side to any argument and resort to insults. I despair for this country in the future if they are representative.
The BBC and LBC and ch4 news are all so pro-remain they have brain-washed a vast swathe of the population. Shock

As PP has said - TELL US THE POSITIVE BREXiT NEWS!!!

I really want cheering up about it! Convince me!

Squeegle · 18/07/2018 06:33

I am not sweary, smug or smirking, but I honestly can’t think of one good thing about Brexit, or one sensible public figure of integrity who supports it. I am open minded and believe there could be another way, but honestly at the moment it seems to be only bigots like Nigel Farage and some of the more right wing anti collaboration groups who are backing it.
