Tomorrow is the Queen’s Speech. In honour of that the start of this thread is written in its honour:

….
Immigration is bad. Except for that good immigration.
….
….
Brexit means Brexit
….
Pilot scheme.
....
….
….
Money for –the DUP-- NI
….
….
Brexit means Brexit
….
The Internet is Bad. Newspapers are good.
….
Brexit means Brexit.
….
….
….
Britain wave your flag.
….

(The Queen’s turns over the page to read the back of the A4 sheet, only to find it blank)

nancywake that is such a beautifully polite post. Translated it means the current crop of tories have a tendency to laziness and arrogance. Pretty fatal flaws atm.

DD's satan joke:

Ahead of their talks the two men laughed off an apparent misunderstanding over Mr Davis's comment - "get thee behind me Satan" - in September when answering a Commons committee question about Mr Verhofstadt

patty penguin you may well be right. I am still hoping for a more decent, fair and safe public transport system.

RedToothBrush · 20/06/2017 21:45

You know how remainers were told about the 4 stages of grief?

Well....

Andy Conway Morris‏*@andymoz78*
Stages of Brexit
1) sunlit uplands of freedom
2) German car makers
3) no one said it would be easy
4) poverty, pah! Taste the sovereignty

In normal times, would a currency devaluation of that scale, be regarded as a national concern/crisis?

Sostenueto · 20/06/2017 21:49

Look wasn't GB the second biggest contributer to the EU? Why would they think OK to laugh at us? Why are they pushing for huge divorce settlement? Because they can't meet THEIR commitments without it. They are the ones who worry about us walking away with no deal. Now that's not really on the agenda they can maybe sit back and laugh a bit that's why it could have been a good idea for hard brexit. This is not my personal view just one I want to throw out to all to discuss. Remember I'm still sitting on the fence. So cone and convince me!

HarryBiscuit · 20/06/2017 21:52

sos it has taken me about 4 threads to realise your username! BlushJust put 2+2 together when you said you were in music.

Sostenueto · 20/06/2017 21:53

The pound was always rather too high and I think its maybe finding true value now?

HashiAsLarry · 20/06/2017 21:53

Because they can't meet THEIR commitments without it.
Ahem our commitments. We committed to the EU budget last time it was set.

HashiAsLarry · 20/06/2017 21:55

You know, like when you sign a 24m contract and try to walk out after 12 months.
You've committed, legally.
Ffs, why is this still a question

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 20/06/2017 21:56

Sos best place to start is 53 threads ago. There is so much info and background

If you are on the fence after a year can I ask....did you vote to leave and are rethinking? There may be specific areas posters can point you to

But I'm afraid now we are where we are. In the doggie doo doo with a bunch of idiots blustering their way through it Confused

Sostenueto · 20/06/2017 21:56

Da Capo is what I think, must wish they would take in the coda and finish it lol!

More reasons why TM wants to stop the pesky internet:

Sostenueto · 20/06/2017 22:07

Well expecting things to fly now, I actually did not vote. I am neither a leaver or a remainer. I felt that I was not in a position to vote with such sparse information and understanding of situation. Having said that not surprised at result for many reasons. The truth is the Tories did not listen to electorate, still don't listen. They took the electorate for granted, they still do. If you put your cross against Tory it will be a vote for business, always. Profit before the people. People voted for change, unfortunately the EU was the scapegoat. What do we do now? Get a government that will listen. It may all be too late. 90% of me says stay in and if a second ref I will vote for that definitely, but with a heavy heart still.

DividedKingdom · 20/06/2017 22:08

The pound was always rather too high and I think its maybe finding true value now?

In July 2015 GBPEUR hit 1.44

This represents a devaluation of over 20% in just 2 years.

This is third world style currency weakness. In fact, GBPEUR has only been weaker on one occasion in recent history: when the UK banking system collapsed.

BatSegundo · 20/06/2017 22:08

Citreon I have noticed Hammond suddenly everywhere in the past few days. Getting media coverage on Brexit, the economy (obviously) and Grenfell. Trying to sound sensible and statesman-like. Methinks he's angling for the leadership.

Thank Red and all regular posters for another civilised and educational thread.

BatSegundo · 20/06/2017 22:10

Yay! It worked (long time lurker on these threads who has twice tried posting in recent weeks only to have it lose my post)

Mrsmartell08 · 20/06/2017 22:10

Sadly sos I feel many voters feel the way you did/do

DividedKingdom · 20/06/2017 22:12

Hello bat and welcome to our world of pain Grin

Mrsmartell08 · 20/06/2017 22:13

HashiAsLarry · 20/06/2017 22:15

Firstly, welcome.
Secondly, now swear the oat of the saboteur
Wink

Sostenueto · 20/06/2017 22:16

Sorry to let you all down by admitting I did not vote in referendum. It broke my heart not to vote as I value my vote tremendously but I just could not make up my mind. The re ent election was an easy vite as I am a bit of a dreamer anyway lol! Apologies to all.Sad

Sostenueto · 20/06/2017 22:17

Lol hashyGrin

BatSegundo · 20/06/2017 22:17

I will happily swear the oat (I likes porridge - though maybe not in this heat)

Mrsmartell08 · 20/06/2017 22:19

Oooh!
Didnt know there was an oath!
Where do I sign!!?

HashiAsLarry · 20/06/2017 22:19
Grin My autocorrect is clearly Scottish today
BatSegundo · 20/06/2017 22:22

sos I'm usually rude about non-voters but I think not voting in the referendum was a reasonable decision. It was an overly simplistic question on a hugely complex issue that was further obfuscated by the nonsense spun in the media and by our so-called leaders.
