I've only given a tenner, but there are plenty of rich people (unless it's all stealth boasting about dipique candles) here, so we should be able to help.

It's currently at 18.507k and needs 70!

I knew what I was voting for. I was voting to leave the EU.

One thing that could really fuck our economy up is uncertainty.
Stuff like this isn't helping!!!
Do it, don't do it. Just make a fucking decision and get on with it.

I think people who earn below a certain amount should not be eligible to vote. Or perhaps we should base it on qualifications. Either way, the rich should decide.

If the referendum had been 10 years ago i think the result would have been very different.
For 10 years some people's lives have got harder, no matter how hard they try to make it better, it's got worse. It's looking even bleaker for their children too. Meanwhile it feels like we are being told what rules to have in this country with no thought for the people in the country and pumping money out to enable them to do it - on what looks like a bloody good jolly on expenses.
Back here we are having huge cuts causing said persons life to be even harder and threats of more.

It's not about being educated or not, it's about life being bloody tough and getting harder for a huge proportion of the population.
It's
"fuck it, life can't be any worse",
"what we've got isn't working for me anymore"
Type vote

You'd have to be hugely naive and arrogant to believe those people are uneducated or their vote doesn't matter. Their vote came from how life is for them. You and I may not agree and may have voted differently, but who are you to say their vote is wrong?

Why not go the whole way and only let property-owning white men vote? They're the most objective and can decide what's best for everyone, right?

I voted to Leave. I'm working-class (and you can say that, OP - 'below middle-class' isn't a polite euphemism!) and I don't regret my vote or know any Leave voter who does. But the narrative of all those ignorant poor people who were misled by the evil Farage and now regret their folly is a weirdly pervasive one online.

I've heard countless stories about the people that voted for brexit and now regretting it

I keep reading that, that there are scores of people regretting voting leave. Can I fuck find one IRL though.

I voted remain but I believe in democracy. Yawn

Yep me too.

As for your 'less educated comment' the leave voters I know we're well educated and knew exactly what they voted for.

OP I guess you are also one of those people that think people over a certain age shouldn't vote Hmm

We're going to leave the EU. I just hope that the Conservatives don't cut off their nose to spite their face with all their rhetoric. We have to work with Europe so all this hard line attitude towards the EU might well have a negative impact.

Report
thecrowabby · 10/12/2016 10:49

This is pathetic, just a bunch of whiny children stamping there feet because they didn't get there own way. It's doesn't matter if you voted to leave or stay the majority voted to leave so that is what should happen.

Yabu hth and try and get that stick out of your arse. Degree educated, highly intelligent and I voted Leave to secure my dc future. I've not met a single Leave voter who regrets it either so let's hear some facts to back up your wishful thinking.

The EEA question is an interesting one. It is a different kettle of fish and not covered by the referendum question.

I'm not entirely convinced by this being heard in the Irish courts though (although I understand the legal reasons being put forward). I think, politically, it needs to be the uk courts that determine issues relating to brexit. So I won't be supporting the crowdfund.

I'm university educated and working class. I voted leave because I feel it's best for my child's future.

Your comments make you sound like an arsehole.

I voted to remain. I felt and still feel very strongly that this was what was best for the UK.

I feel even more strongly that we live in a democracy. It was made very clear that there would be one vote. Leave won that vote. I would be horribly ashamed of my country if we did not honour that result.

I value being part of a democracy higher than I value being in the EU. This is just a complete waste of time, money and resource.

I think op is just stating the facts regarding voting, was detailed article on buzzfeed (www.buzzfeed.com/jamesball/heres-who-voted-for-brexit-and-who-didnt?utm_term=.fyQYJqVXa#.ybd9Mmvb2 ) and it was the case that the percentage of people who voted remain increased as the level of education increased.
There will of course be highly educated people who voted leave as there will be people with low level education who voted remain.

out that still doesn't mean the poor or poorly educated vote shouldn't count. That's not a reason that we should ignore the vote.

I voted reman and cried when I found out the result.

However we had a vote and we should stick to the outcome. Anyone who thinks any different is an idiot.

And as someone said upthrrad all this stuff trying to block Brexit is bad for the U.K. We just need to get on with it and live with the consequences and hope thinks in this country get better for people who need it.
