No, you're just wrong.

WinchesterWoman · 04/11/2016 20:53

No you are so wrong and what's sad is that inside you know it. Sovereignty of parliament is a conduit for representation of the people, not an end in itself. The people have spoken: the representation is already complete: we have represented ourselves. You want it now so you can block, delay, frustrate and hinder that representation of the will of the people. Then you'll be happy to see it gone. (again)

We don't have it now that is so obvious it's embarrassing to have to type it. Otherwise we could have had a vote in parliament ten months ago to decide how to spend uk taxpayers cash instead of having to ask the leaders of 27 other countries how we could spend it.

Kaija · 04/11/2016 21:15

No Winchester. Unless the only sovereignty you would accept is North Korea style.

Tryingtosaveup · 04/11/2016 21:17

I agree those fucking judges are just pandering to their mates. £1 in jar.
I'd personally shoot the buggers. Ok another £1.

Kaija · 04/11/2016 21:22

Really, trying? What was it in the government's case was it that you found so convincing?

WinchesterWoman · 04/11/2016 21:23

That's the stupidest post I've ever seen. When was the last time north Korea had a referendum and did what the people wanted?

It's the remainers doing a super impression of North Korea here.

WinchesterWoman · 04/11/2016 21:23

Kaija what do you think parliament derives its sovereignty and authority from?

Remainers: Nice friends you've got

Kaija · 04/11/2016 21:31

I would say Parliament's authority comes from its elected representatives acting within the Law in the best interests of the people. That's all of the people.

Cxc78 · 04/11/2016 21:33

Look who's on your side first love

surferjet · 04/11/2016 21:34

WW. Ignore her, hopefully she'll go & annoy people elsewhere then.

Parliament is elected representatives (apart from the lords) acting through and enacting laws. You didn't answer the question. Where do you think the elected representative derive their authority from?

WinchesterWoman · 04/11/2016 21:35

Pass the absinthe surf.

autumnintheair · 04/11/2016 21:35

When was the last time north Korea had a referendum and did what the people wanted?

well it shows what level we are dealing with WW doesn't it Grin

parliament is sovereign and yet its taken a law court ruling to decide on this specific matter, a ruling that with different not EU europhile judges may go another way.

However it was made very clear during the brexit debates that the EU court is higher than our own court....

so how the FUCK is that parliamentary sovereignty when we need law courts to decide this!
Yes its actually an OK thing yes its brilliant - however please..

WinchesterWoman · 04/11/2016 21:37

Thank you Autumn. So that's me you and surf thinking straight tonight. Obviously we've drunk far too little of we're the only ones making sense

autumnintheair · 04/11/2016 21:37

I would say Parliament's authority comes from its elected representatives acting within the Law in the best interests of the people. That's all of the people

which law and thats the crux our law or the law of the EU which we have been told has higher jurisdiction than our own, which in fact is what one of the judges wants who ruled on this!!

autumnintheair · 04/11/2016 21:38

ooop swear jar

Kaija · 04/11/2016 21:39

Autumn, the court just asserted parliamentary sovereignty. You apparently want them to say that parliament can be excluded from the whole Brexit process.

WinchesterWoman · 04/11/2016 21:39

In the best interests of the people

Very sinister when they think the people don't know what's good for them despite an explicit expression of that

I think that kind of thinking was rather 'on point' behind the iron curtain c1972

Kaija · 04/11/2016 21:40

Autumn, this was a uk court.

WinchesterWoman · 04/11/2016 21:40

Kaija did you miss my question about where the elected representatives derive their authority from

Cxc78 · 04/11/2016 21:41

I am staying, report me if you like. I really couldn't care less what you think of me

Kaija · 04/11/2016 21:42

Winchester, you did not vote on the terms of Brexit, you just voted to leave. This has nothing to do with overruling your vote.

Kaija · 04/11/2016 21:42

Winchester I already answered it. What you you think?
