Damn right people don't feel welcome here

I am afraid your making an un true goady and sweeping generalization. My own family is a rainbow of so many countries. Including POlish SIL who has been here for years and many long term friends from Europe. None of them feel un welcome, I can however understand why some people may feel this, but to make such a sweeping generalization is a falsehood. My DH is only a quart British.

autumnintheair · 03/11/2016 22:28

Bear why do you think I or anyone one else would?

I also dont know who you think you are or anyone else is - to tell people what their realities are or are not?

time4chocolate · 03/11/2016 22:30

Gloria - Asia is horrified by the racist belligerence and imbecility!! I really don't know what to say to that.

Bearbehind · 03/11/2016 22:31

autumn simple question - why do you think the EU is corrupt?

GloriaGaynor · 03/11/2016 22:35

surferjet Or so she said. Not that it makes any difference either way.

Really Gloria? Asia is shocked by one of the most liberal inclusive, multi cultural success stories in the world is it?

It's shocked that one of the most liberal, inclusive, multicultural success stories has degenerated into racist, xenophobic little dump.

I assume you read the papers.

time4chocolate · 03/11/2016 22:38

Is that your view too Gloria?

autumnintheair · 03/11/2016 22:41

How odd Gloria when many minorities have called the EU the "white fortress" and expressed gratitude at being able to just "be" to a greater degree in the Uk than elsewhere.

I dont see a little dump Confused I see a country that wants to embrace its old pal the EU but also look to the rest of the exciting big wide world.

GloriaGaynor · 03/11/2016 22:42

I don't think this country is past saving, whether it's possible to save it is another matter.

autumnintheair · 03/11/2016 22:45

Bear its not that simple a question but it is simple to google it all and do your own research. Which I assume one would do to make a sensible voting decision? I looked at both sides, I understand both sides, but on balance felt it was better to Leave.

I strongly felt there was no room for reform from within either.

autumnintheair · 03/11/2016 22:45

We can certainly save it, once we are out of the EU.

GloriaGaynor · 03/11/2016 22:45

Do you not grasp the difference between pre and post referendum?

The narrative coming from UKIP, the Leave campaign and the Tory conference casts a new unpleasant light on a country that has always been perceived as tolerant.

Bearbehind · 03/11/2016 22:46

It is a simple question, stop waffling.

If you think it's corrupt - why?

autumnintheair · 03/11/2016 22:48

Bear, I know my reasons, but what do you think? You must have considered these points when you voted? Its not possible to look at the EU a a cohesive functioning place.

It doesn't matter what I think, its really best you do your own research and learn about it and come to the knowledge in your own way.

autumnintheair · 03/11/2016 22:49

It is a simple question, stop waffling.

^^ Grin ha! Why dont you stop asking the question and simply do your own research Grin

time4chocolate · 03/11/2016 22:49

OMG Gloria, I assume you have seen the papers this week, the neo-nazi clashes in Germany, the brawling in Paris. This country is nothing like that and I find your comment about it being 'not too late to save the country' very insulting.

GloriaGaynor · 03/11/2016 22:51

Isn't it? Every time I go online I see Leave voters threatening violence if they don't get their way.

Bearbehind · 03/11/2016 22:53

God this is tedious.

If you truly believed in your own research you'd shout it from the rooftops.

I've read the myths about the accounts never being signed off blah, blah blah and it's bollocks.

What makes you conclude the EU is any more corrupt than the government?

GloriaGaynor · 03/11/2016 22:54

She read it in the DM QED.

time4chocolate · 03/11/2016 22:56

No, not threatening violence if they don't get their way but yes I can see unrest for sure if the decision is overturned.

autumnintheair · 03/11/2016 22:56

Yes I agree its tedious Grin But since the vote has gone the way of Brexit I truly feel its best you look for yourself to see why people may have voted leave. BUT there is no point looking with prejudice, you have to put yourself in someone else's shoes.
You can't read stuff and declare...its nonsense its not reality!

Bearbehind · 03/11/2016 23:00

Yes but autumn your representatives are going to have to justify and debate the reasons for and methods of leaving and now you are shitting yourselves because you don't know the answers to the questions so you're more then a little concerned that there actually are no answers,

surferjet · 03/11/2016 23:02

Just google 'EU corruption' people, plenty of nice bed time reading there.

Night night.

OP posts:
autumnintheair · 03/11/2016 23:05

But the answers are so long, and you wouldnt listen to it from me. As surfer suggests just try looking some stuff up.

Bearbehind · 03/11/2016 23:07

No probs,.

Clearly neither of you have an actual opinion if your own.

As ^gloria* said QED
