Report neighbour committing benefit fraud

Hi, I believe a neighbour is committing benefit fraud. She has a teenaged son that has been taken out from school due to 'ADHD' because he can't sit still in class.(Does however sit all day on his console). She is claiming DLA for him and also carers allowance. She does not need to give him any extra attention at all, He can dress, feed and wash himself like as well as any other teenaged boy. She also works 3 days a week so isn't at home all day anyway, So how can she be claiming to be a carer when she does nowt extra? Haven't decided whether to report or not, interested in other people's views on this. Thanks

Can’t some people (not all) who get pip also work. A colleague told me I’m cutting my hours as I’m getting pip so why work full time when I don’t need to. So is that not manipulating the system!
You have to accept that some abuse the system. If you entitled to benefits fine but not everyone who gets it is genuine. If that was the case the government wouldn’t be looking for ways to cut out the fake claims.

I work FT and claim PIP. There is nothing stopping me from quitting work

MatchaMatchaMatcha · 11/11/2025 17:22

@platinumanddiamonds the government looks to cut fake claims because it makes for populist headlines. The rags do like to foam about it.

That’s shocking claiming for 3 people then leaving them to look after each other. Probably most on here will not agree but at the end of the day false claims are costing the country a fortune. The system needs a total review.

You cannot claim CA for more than one person at a time. Ever. Under any circumstances. You've just based your comment of social outrage on total and utter false information. Check your facts first.

I responded hypothetically to another post. Some OP are so defensive

I think that was you...🤔. In case you've forgotten what you said (likely, considering your mature follow ups):

You know what, people used to have some empathy for others with a disabled child, now they are actually jealous, because of dla.🫣 I have 3 children on dla, I have no life, can't work, and am currently filling out pip for the first time for my oldest, who is on a massively reduced timetable at school as can't cope, and at this rate I'll be grateful if she just got Maths and English gcse. Do you want their disabilities, or just the money? You can't have one without the other ?

I'd love to be able to work but I'm on call always, I'd love my youngest 3 to have the life my eldest has, but they can't, I'd love to not have to need the money, but I do.

You have no idea.

Cutting her hours wont result in her getting anymore pip . Her condition may br easier to manage if she cuts her hours but why is it manipulating the system if her payments dont increase ?

platinumanddiamonds · 16/11/2025 12:26

I’ll admit maybe I have misunderstood the person who said this sorry.

QueenClinomania · 16/11/2025 12:31

Amazing how many people apparently boast to all and sundry the details of their benefit payments and how they got it fraudulently.

If I was committing fraud I would keep it to myself because only someone without any brains at all goes round bragging about benefit fraud, particularly right now when it's under the microscope and there appears to be a well organised media and social media campaign to demonise disabled claimants and push the whole flat screen TV and holidays to disneyland on your hard earned money bullshit.

QueenClinomania · 16/11/2025 12:37

DLA and PIP are not mean tested benefits. It is not affected by any other income you get. You can work. Many do.

Carers allowance requires a minimum of 35 hours a week. There are 168 hours in a week. It's perfectly possible to work part time and still be eligible for carers allowance. You can also earn up to £196 net per week and get it.

It's very hard to get dla/pip. You need evidence. More people who really need it are wrongly rejected than claim it fraudulently.

If he can sit and concentrate on gaming, it’s ADD.

uoi don’t know anything about what his care needs are and DLA isn’t income based so get a grip
