Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has a DS doing the 7+ or 8+ exam for some of the London day schools, like St Paul's Juniors, Westminster, or Kings. My DS is doing the 7+ and the first exam is on December 1st (St Paul's). I think I have a fairly good idea of the exam structure but, of course, I would welcome any top tips - as well as company from a Mumsnet support group, as we go through this! Good luck to everyone!

does anyone know how many boys were there on Saturday roughly?
and no email...

Heist · 02/12/2019 16:27

Roughly around 400 (at least)

fionaming · 02/12/2019 16:29

It's over 400 and the biggest 7+ ever

Cadeaux · 02/12/2019 16:31

Maybe that what's causing the delay...

fionaming · 02/12/2019 16:32

Update: email will be sent in the following hour.

fionaming · 02/12/2019 16:33

Why they couldn't tell us offers would be send from 430 to 530 beforehand

JamesJones · 02/12/2019 16:34

How do you know that Fiona?

fionaming · 02/12/2019 16:35

Somebody called

Heist · 02/12/2019 16:44

I also tried calling the reception team (option 1 on SPJ landline), but they told me that they do not have any information and transferred my call to 7+/8+ admissions (Option 2 on SPJ landline). There was option of leaving voicemail and could not speak to anyone.
This wait could not get any longer

fionaming · 02/12/2019 16:45

I also called twice this morning but sent to voicemail.

winteragain · 02/12/2019 17:03

There were 11plus sittings at SPJS all day today so I expect the admissions team was busy with that. The school was closed for the pupils.

fionaming · 02/12/2019 17:06

We got invited. Good luck to all

quitestressed78 · 02/12/2019 17:14

We’re back Weds! Good luck to all

Cadeaux · 02/12/2019 17:15

We've been invited for Monday but we can't make that date. Do you think they will be able to reschedule?

Doubleclick2020 · 02/12/2019 17:30

We are going tomorrow morning at 845am.

Icannotbelievethis001 · 02/12/2019 17:30

@Cadeaux I think they did mention in the initial, that it would be difficult to change the appointment.

Sleepoveritmum · 02/12/2019 23:27

Any tips for the next round of SPJ? What should we expect? And how many have been invited? Are they grouping children based on round 1 marks? Or based on surnames?

Tingting01 · 03/12/2019 00:24

Can I ask for those who have an interview, what scores did you have for maths and dictation? And for reasoning as well? Thank you

quitestressed78 · 03/12/2019 01:41

Tingting01 I have no idea how we scored in any of the papers. Only what DS said in feedback. I have no idea where DS ranked out of everyone called back or how the call backs are ordered.

quitestressed78 · 03/12/2019 07:43

Hi, can I ask what people are wearing to the activity day. School uniform or own clothes? Obviously I mean DC!

Heist · 03/12/2019 08:25

No guideline is given by SPJ. Even for written test on Saturday, they mentioned comfortable clothes - either school uniform or own clothes. In absence of any further guidance, assumption could be either for interview as well.
King's had clear instructions of 'No School Uniform' for activity morning, but so such guidance from SPJ

fionaming · 03/12/2019 08:37

We are going today and it's 2 hour drive Halo

Heist · 03/12/2019 09:10

Good Luck Fiona. I am sure, 2 hour drive will be all worth it, after yesterday's waiting game.
