Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has a DS doing the 7+ or 8+ exam for some of the London day schools, like St Paul's Juniors, Westminster, or Kings. My DS is doing the 7+ and the first exam is on December 1st (St Paul's). I think I have a fairly good idea of the exam structure but, of course, I would welcome any top tips - as well as company from a Mumsnet support group, as we go through this! Good luck to everyone!

Nothing yet and none of the parents at our DS school have either yet.

Cadeaux · 02/12/2019 12:59

@litan thank you
4-5 hours of waiting to go...
although they mentioned that some emails may come on Tuesday...

Heist · 02/12/2019 14:06

No email yet...
Waiting is getting difficult now

quitestressed78 · 02/12/2019 15:06

I’m giving up any hope now!!

fionaming · 02/12/2019 15:17

Any update?

fionaming · 02/12/2019 15:20

When does the school close? 5:30? Sad

quitestressed78 · 02/12/2019 15:21

Has anyone heard?

JamesJones · 02/12/2019 15:25

Haven’t received anything yet

Heist · 02/12/2019 15:29

No email yet. The wait is getting crazy. School reception is open till 5, i believe.
Only solace is that Ms Shaw mentioned on Saturday that emails will come on Monday and Tuesday.

fionaming · 02/12/2019 15:35

Thanks Heist. Completely missed the HM's talk last Saturday. So as long as we receive sth from spj today and tmr it must be the interview invite?

Icannotbelievethis001 · 02/12/2019 15:37

There supposed to be sessions tomorrow, so assume that those invited back must have been told by now so at least logistically those that need to be there tomorrow can prepare

Heist · 02/12/2019 15:40

Not sure about the fact that if email is received today/tomorrow - it will be 100% positive news.
Reading previous messages, believe they will send emails to unsuccessful candidates as well

quitestressed78 · 02/12/2019 15:41

If that is the case then I think it will be a no for us as we are near start of alphabet. Will be useful to know if anyone has been contacted.

fionaming · 02/12/2019 15:41

Agree Litan. And maybe they invite those who live nearby first

quitestressed78 · 02/12/2019 15:43

Seems no one really knows!😂

quitestressed78 · 02/12/2019 15:43

Nice to be going through the wait with others!!

fionaming · 02/12/2019 15:43

They really should have organised this much better, so parents don't need to keep refreshing the phone Sad

fionaming · 02/12/2019 15:45

It took me a long time to find this thread because it is not a new one

Heist · 02/12/2019 15:46

@quitestressed78 - Do not lose hope just yet. The wait is bad, but wait till tomorrow to get more stressed

JamesJones · 02/12/2019 15:47

Given that no one has reported receiving anything yet, my assumption is that emails just aren't out yet. My glass is half full :-)

quitestressed78 · 02/12/2019 15:47

I’m only quitestressed!😝

Any with surnames beginning with A? I may just be becoming obsessed with the alphabet thing now! Thanks litan.

organiccoffee · 02/12/2019 15:50

for interviews on Tuesday, the emails were sent on Sunday night (for previous years at least) to allow parents to take leave from work on Monday I think.
I don't think it's by alphabetic order, we received emails all in one go. Only slight difference due to email server timing. But it could be veeeery late in the afternoon. good luck to all.

fionaming · 02/12/2019 15:53

Thanks organic coffee. I prefer king's approach, paper test at the end and result sent in the post. Big envelop offer Blush
