Waiting for Results on 1st March

Thought it would be nice to start a support thread on here about the wait for our DC getting into secondary schools. Anyone else glad the tests are all over?

again congrats to those who are getting the results that they wanted!

I have figured out that I can log into the admissions site on my phone (not sure if this is a good or bad idea) - so if you see a woman at 5ish looking slightly deranged stumbling through central London while obsessively looking at her phone, you now know why

and I have my fingers crossed for everyone who has to sit on a waiting list to try and get in to the school they wanted :(

Just seen this, which says '40% in most hotly contested areas may not get first choice'. I had no idea there was as much as a 60% chance of getting one's first choice! Shall I just chill out then, as I would be perfectly happy with 2nd choice?

when it says 'after 5pm' how soon after do you reckon? will we wait hours and hours or will the wait be over in an hour and a half?

I'm not going to be home with DD until 7ish, so we've got a bit longer. I'm hoping to avoid the bit where the whole system falls over rush that way.

Hi - haven't read whole thread but congrats to those with first choices and commiserations otherwise.

Our allocation was classic laurel and hardy comedy, with the email giving the offer and then in the same email saying that none of the preferences had been allocated and that a letter would arrive with an alternative offer in due course. I wrote to them explaining that I thought I understood the letter but that it would be very confusing if that was the form of the letter that went to everyone. So far I have had 4 - count them, 4 - letters of apology and clarification, not all of which offered any clarity. Gotta larf, eh.

BTW I have a copy of a good appeals process book (I thought I'd need it last year but didn't go to appeal, though I do think my opening letter made it clear I had all the info) which I can send to anyone who needs it if they PM me.

I got an email at 8am, DD got in the first choice! We were told not to expect emails till the afternoon.

Ok here we go - final hour -

I haven't allowed myself to contemplate the horror of appeal...though we have good grounds I believe, on the basis of ds' disability

Am now feeling really sick...
have checked online, site says offered, but nothing more..
email any time now
