Thought it would be nice to start a support thread on here about the wait for our DC getting into secondary schools. Anyone else glad the tests are all over?

It is friday - I can have [ttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Last-Light-Alex-Scarrow/dp/0752893270 last light wine] for real. Hooray!

swanriver · 25/02/2011 20:41

I'm waiting too. All Catholic comprehensives in West London, and pretty sure that ds will get his first choice, but not so sure about whether anyone he knows will be going with him, as they all put our first choice 3rd or 4th! Didn't know the online result wouldn't be there till late on Tues?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/02/2011 22:22

GORGEOUSX · 25/02/2011 22:26

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/02/2011 22:27

You are welcome Grin

swanriver · 25/02/2011 22:38

I had an anxiety dream the another night that everyone else had taken a test I didn't know ds1 was meant to take Shock
but otherwise I am caaaaalm.
Thanks for the wine, I think I've had enough this evening already. I'm happy sitting on the floor really Smile

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/02/2011 22:46

how about some cherry vodka then? makes it hard to type but very yummy. cherries out of neighbours tree home grown

GORGEOUSX · 25/02/2011 22:54

Swanriver You can't sit on the floor - I'll have to climb over you every time I need to get Wine. Not sure I'll be able to rely on OhyouBadBadKitten to help Wink

I dreamt that DD was taking her test.... she was in a gladiator ring riding a chariot and furiously whipping the horses to go faster Confused and she didn't do very well. She turned to me and said,

"I didn't know I had to steer..... you never told me I had to steer"

What does that mean? Confused [schock]

miniwedge · 26/02/2011 09:29

What is it with the dreams? I had a horrid one last night where I got the results on a till roll. Had to unwind the whole thing read down through loads of schools all with "not offered" next to them until the last one which was a local school that is being shut and is failing with "allocated" next to it in massive letters.

This is ridiculous, I am normally sane and rational. In my head I know that dd will do well wherever but in my heart I want a school thatbwe both love. Bonkers!

GORGEOUSX · 26/02/2011 09:35

It means we've had too much Wine Grin

3 MORE DAYS.......Shock Shock Shock

miniwedge · 26/02/2011 09:50

I never thought I'd say this but we need tickers...... Grin

GORGEOUSX · 26/02/2011 09:55

miniwedge I'm a complete technophobe - have no idea how to do tickers. Can you do it for all of us, or does that not count? (more delegating - all I need to do now is get more Wine pourers and I'll be able to go out. Grin

UnquietDad · 26/02/2011 11:41

Ours have come early!!

Letter came today, and DD has her first choice.

(It was a sort of formality as we are in catchment, but you can never be sure with this crazy local authority...)

willow · 26/02/2011 12:02

Result, as they say, UQD. Have no doubt that we will be hanging on until the last minute here!

drosophila · 26/02/2011 13:09

Anyone know what time you can access the results on the e admissions system in London. Would it be Midnight on the 1st March? I was told I would get an email at Midday...

GORGEOUSX · 26/02/2011 13:19

UnquietDad CONGRATULATIONS! Envy

I never knew you could find out early!!!! What's going on? Gosh, you've really put the cat amongst the pigeons now.

I am now thoroughly Confused

Or is your DC statemented?

GORGEOUSX · 26/02/2011 13:20

UnquietDad What is your local authority? Shock

GORGEOUSX · 26/02/2011 13:22

drosophila I think it's 5.00 p.m., but hopefully someone will confirm. Would you like to sit down and have Wine with us? Grin

GORGEOUSX · 26/02/2011 13:23

willow What's the betting you and I shall be the last to know? Grin

UnquietDad · 26/02/2011 13:25

Gorgeousx - no, she's not statemented. We found out by ordinary postal letter, dated yesterday and delivered today. We did request the local catchment school so perhaps they do the uncomplicated ones first?...

UnquietDad · 26/02/2011 13:25

Sheffield.

drosophila · 26/02/2011 13:33

It's abit like waiting for your baby to be born. You know those last couple of weeks when you are dreading the pain but wanting it over with and you baby safe with you.

drosophila · 26/02/2011 13:35

Found this on Surrey Website.
