Right, new thread ready to make cash for Christmas!
Good luck Ebayers.

OP posts:
ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 10/12/2009 20:23

Have listed those two items.

Most of mine are ending tonight. So far 1 has sold and 1 has a bid! Rubbish night for my items!!

ElizabethWakefield · 11/12/2009 12:34

Saltire - It depends how much you would be happy to see the dress go for? Sometimes starting things low can lead to more interest than having a higher starting price, but obviously it is a risk.

I sold 5 item last night, although they all went for 99p, the heaviest item went to someone in germany, who hadn't contacted me re postage, so i am expecting problems there, but hopefully not.

Still have 27 items ending on Sunday. Every single item has at least one watcher, so i am feeling quite hopeful.

Mel most of these are baby clothes and i have found that they have been selling quite well, individually. I haven't bothered with bundles, although some people have bought a few items and i have discounted postage.

mogs0 · 11/12/2009 13:17

Tort - how did the rest of your things go?

I have a few watchers but only 2 bids.

I've had enough of it now. I feel really miserable at the moment and the thought of packing up more stuff on Sunday makes me want to cry!!

I'm also making mistakes - I sent out an item that was incomplete instead of the complete set that is sitting in the cupboard. Thankfully, the buyer is happy for me to send the missing bit out to her. Can't believe I didn't check it first though!

Saltire - Do you have a 2nd dress shop near by? My mum asked me to ebay a Jaeger suit for her that had been worn once and I got a bid of £10 on the jacket and the dress has been listed 3 times and still hasn't sold. It cost her £400 . She tried the 2nd hand dress shop but it was more than 2 years old so they wouldn't accept it. If yours is a fairly recent design you might get more selling it that way.

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 11/12/2009 16:34

mogs Only 2 items sold. K'nex listings end tonight. Have a couple of watchers but not convinced any will bid!

I have had enough too TBH. No more listing for me for a while. Not that i have much left to list! lol!

mogs0 · 11/12/2009 16:50

I still have loads of things but a lot would only sell for 99p and I think for all the hassle I'd rather donate it to the charity shop and let them make a bit of money out of it.

I daren't look at your k'nex again incase I bid on it and I'm not allowing myself to buy anything else - ever!!!! - But I hope you get some bids on it!!! My stuff is ending on Sunday and I wouldn't be too bothered if it didn't sell - less to pack up and take to the post office on Monday.

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 11/12/2009 16:51

Might get more for clothes in a bundle maybe but i agree, not worth listing if sells at 99p. Not much left after fees.

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 11/12/2009 23:17

Knex bits all ended with 1 bid each! So £4 for each collection and £2.50 for the instruction books. Disappointed but wasn't expecting to make loads from them.

mygirllollipop · 12/12/2009 12:47

The two mobiles I had on sold for £75 in total, waiting for a couple of people to pay and will have £150 in paypal (of course there's fees and P&P to come out of that).
Pleased with that, just need to de-clutter again in Jan as still have stuff left.

mogs0 · 13/12/2009 11:41

Well done with the mobiles - were they newish models? I have quite a few older ones that are just hanging around the place.

I've got 4 items with bids on now and watchers on all but the ski jacket!

I'm going to sort through my cupboards today and put any ebay stuff together ready for listing next christmas in January. I might create a bit of space for everything else to fit in then!!

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 13/12/2009 13:12

Might change my mind and list a couple of items later! Have been tidying DD1 and DD2's room!
Will make a decision later.

mogs0 · 13/12/2009 14:08

Ha, ha! I was thinking the same!! The items that are ending today are all easy to pack so not too much hassle. I have a few toys close to hand that could go on and possibly sell well.

How many days will you list them for?

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 13/12/2009 14:15

hmm probably 3 days, although would rather put on for longer. 5 days is getting a bit close to christmas.

ElizabethWakefield · 13/12/2009 18:45

I have 27 things ending over the next few hours.

14 have bids, and most of the others have watchers. I am actually dreading the packaging and posting as I am soooo busy this week! But the extra money is always a bonus!

mogs0 · 13/12/2009 21:40

5 items ended - 4 sold for almost £60 - far more than I'd expected for 2 of the items. 1 unsold - the bloody ski jacket again!! I'll try it once more in January then it'll be off to the charity shop - although, the more I look at it the more I think I might start wearing it again, especially as it's been so cold recently!!

I've got a 5 more things ending in an hour, 3 with bids on, all with watchers so who knows how they'll end!!

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 13/12/2009 21:49

Wow well done Mogs.
Snowsuit ended on £4.70. Happy with that.
Have a couple of DS games to list soon. And maybe a toy drum with other instruments in it. But might keep hold of it for now as it is a nice set and my friends DS2 plays with it when i look after him.

mogs0 · 13/12/2009 22:10

Glad you're happy with snowsuit price.

I've got another 30 mins until my next lot finish. I haven't had any dinner yet because I've been stalking my ebay account and now I'm really hungry but don't know if I can drag myself away to go and re-heat it - I might get distracted and miss the end of the auctions!! - Hmm, if I don't eat I might faint and miss them anyway - I'm off to heat my dinner!!!

meerkatsandkookaburras · 13/12/2009 23:17

hiya, what ds games are you listing? im wanting some and keep getting outbid or forgetting to bid on ebay lol

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 14/12/2009 11:02

DS games to be listed are-

Nintendogs Dachshund and friends (I think)
New Super Mario Bros
My Sims
Sims 2
And possibly Ice Age 2
Just game no box or instructions.

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 17/12/2009 19:09

DS games ready to list tonight. 3 day listing, start 99p! Really hope they don't sell for 99p lol! Hopefully any that sell will be paid for quickly and i can post Monday. Really think they will get more bids before Christmas.

persephonesnape · 17/12/2009 20:20

haven't listed for a few months, just painstakingly rebuilt 127 items from my ebay pile and it's cost me £79.90 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) to list! blimey! have rules changed? should i be putting everything on at 0.01? what is happenning? how do i make this cheaper!?

thought today a great day to list as will finish sunday after xmas day. ever hopeful.

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 17/12/2009 20:20

DS games here

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 17/12/2009 20:27

Persephonesnape - What were you listing? Did you start prices high or add BIN? Erm lots of pics in baby clothes costs more. Can't think of any other reason! Sounds like a lot or fees.

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 17/12/2009 20:28

of* fees.

persephonesnape · 17/12/2009 20:39

loads of womens, kids and baby clothes! one or at best two pics each. mostly under 4.99, whch used to be the cut off for fees getting bigger.

god, i hope i don't make a loss. that would suck.

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 17/12/2009 21:14

99p is free to list. Should have had fee at the end before you clicked list. Think it is only baby clothes that charge for more than 1 photo. Did you check no other boxes were selected which cost extra?

Hope you get lots of bids.
