Right, new thread ready to make cash for Christmas!
Good luck Ebayers.

I'm a bit of a wimp!! I'd have preferred it to be the colour in the photo but can certainly live with it's actual colour. Also, I'm sure I've read on here about faggy smells coming from certain types of mailing bags - listing says it comes from a smoke-free home and I'm sure it'll go once it's been through the wash.

I might just email to say I've received it and am disappointed about the colour and see if she offers partial refund. If not, I won't lose any sleep over it!

Tortoise · 12/11/2009 22:34

Yes some bags do have a smell to them. Hopefully a wash and maybe dry outside if the weather is ever nice! Email is a good idea.

Eek, just sent email - I hope it's not someone on this thread! Although, I was very polite so no reason to hate me!!!

mogs0 · 12/11/2009 22:57

Ooh, a couple more bids! All, bar this have bids now (another shameless plug, sorry!). One step closer to being clutter-free!!

IdrisTheDragon · 12/11/2009 23:46

Just looking at your other items mogs and the PSP is going up nicely . Hope it goes up even more before it ends.

Need to send out the items that finished yesterday (everyone has paid now). Got some more ending on Saturday night and bids are coming in for nearly all of them.

Only item with no watchers even is a pair of DS's trainers. He doesn't have smelly feet honestly

caykon · 13/11/2009 09:19

I have been a lurker on here but am trying to make some money before christmas.
I got an email this morning say free listing day on sunday
so am going to sort out stuff that I don't want to start at 99p

Tortoise · 13/11/2009 09:56

I am STILL waiting for payments. Buyers seem to be very slow to pay lately and it is very annoying!

Might wait until Sunday to do some listing if it will be free.

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 13/11/2009 10:16

Woohoo - free listing on Sunday.

Going to get a huge pile of stuff to list I think

Got an item ending today that's going to go for over £10, so my total is currently about £36. Not brilliant, but not too bad I suppose.

IdrisTheDragon · 13/11/2009 12:34

Why haven't I had an email? Good thing I've got this thread to let me know .

Have a few things I'd like to start at more than 99p but of course free listing means more people will be listing so more competition.

I have found out what people are doing about not being able to have postage on books - they are putting it as pick up only and then in the body of their auction putting the postage cost. It is tempting but part of me thinks it's a bit unfair (especially as I had to do some with no postage....)

More items ending tomorrow and Sunday and have about £11.30 on them so far so am hopeful for a bit more

Tortoise · 13/11/2009 13:08

Idris I didn't get an email either! I guess the risk with putting postage in the listing is that people don't have to pay it especially if they pay before an invoice is sent.
Any cchildren'sbooks with TV characters in can go in toys and games under the character items.

OP posts:
mogs0 · 13/11/2009 13:16

Idris - the PSP has been at that price for 6 days now! Every day I check in the hope that it's gone up a bit more!! It belongs to my friend though so all money made is for her. I hope the trainers get some bids!

Tort - have you had any contact from the non-payers now? It's very rude! I've been lucky with my recent listings, all been paying promptly. I hope it'll be ok with the ones ending today and tomorrow.

caykon + Imove - there's nothing like a free listing opportunity to build up enough motivation to get listing is there? I've been putting it off all week but will have to get my butt into gear and get TLing tonight and tomorrow.

I've got a few more bids since last night!! The only item still with no bids is the bag but the more I look at it the more I want to keep it so won't be too disappointed if it gets no bids.

I'll have to go and investigate the free listing rules - what are the main conditions to qualify?

mogs0 · 13/11/2009 13:18

Ooh, I forgot, I had a reply from the skirt seller this morning thanking me for pointing out the 'smelly bag' and the not-so-accurate picture colours. She offered for me to return if I wanted but I think I'll still keep it. Can always re-list if it doesn't get worn!!

mogs0 · 13/11/2009 13:41

Ok, I think I understand the rules now!! I'd better get listing - I have quite a few things that I'd like to list above 99p.

NickNemo · 13/11/2009 15:27

Just listed a harness and reins set here

Now I want to list a winter dress coat. Its from Zara and a lovely camel colour and its quite a hugh percentage of wool. Size 8. Its only been worn a couple times, as I had another one I wore and this was for 'dress' ocasions (there weren't many, sadly. Its quite long too.

So any suggestions as to how much to start listing from? It cost me £70 but this was a couple years ago. Its all been drycleaned and still in the dry cleaners bag. I am not bothered about selling for a huge amount as long as it sells. But don't want to start listing low either.

I think I'll wait till Sunday to list though.

sushistar · 13/11/2009 18:10

Ohh, I've done quite well with my last couple of bits - sold boays coat for £5 something and bracelet for £7 something, and have loads of bids on my printer cartridges. I start most things at 0.99p so will AVOID listing on Sunday - too much competition!

Must put some more bits up - have a stack of clothes to list but they all need ironing before I photo them which is putting me off!

mogs0 · 13/11/2009 18:14

Well done sushi!! A few of my things end at 8pm and I'm constantly checking to see if there are any more bids. They're going up steadily!! I have to go and take ds' friend home now....wil be back in about 7 minutes to check my ebay account!!!

NickNemo · 13/11/2009 18:49

Yay, the buyer who bought my truck left me positive feedback and she collected using Collect Plus.

Filing one for the postage strike and very reasonably priced carriage too. It does take its time (5 working days in this case), but you can track all the way... ! Pleased with my experience, methinks.

mogs0 · 13/11/2009 18:55

Nick - that's good news! I looked at that courier after you mentioned it but they didn't seem to have anywhere near me. I've just found out I can take parcels to PF office instead of hanging around ALL day for them to collect it from my house. Glad you got good feedback!

mogs0 · 13/11/2009 19:24

I'm going to go and hide in the kitchen for the next 45 minutes because I am wasting so much time checking my listings all the time - booster seat just had another 3 bids!

janx · 13/11/2009 19:44

Sorry for all the questions - but how much do it actually cost to list things?...can't see to find the amount of ebay
I doubt if I am going to make 30p before christmas

mogs0 · 13/11/2009 20:04

It depends on each listing. If you start at 99p and have no extras then it's free. If you start at a higher price, have a BIN or a reserve then it starts costing. The first photo is free but if you add any extras they charge for the that too. The final value fee is 10% and Paypal take a cut aswell.

Tortoise · 13/11/2009 20:13

Just to add to what Mogs said. Some categories you can add upto 12 photos for free.

OP posts:
mogs0 · 13/11/2009 20:19

Can you? Which ones? I never knew!! It gets a bit too confusing for me when there are too many different rules for different categories (like the free P&P rules) .

4 items just finished - £205!! - except £160 belongs to my friend. One item paid for so will go and pack up the item and might even take to PO tomorrow morning.

Tortoise · 13/11/2009 20:24

Just clothing i think. Includes mens, womens and childrens.
