Early Spring Clean : Anyone for a 400 pounds by Easter challenge?

Gameboy · 19/01/2007 13:44

Was listening to a radio programme the other day about making money from your old things and it made me realise how much stuff I've got 'waiting to go on eBay'.

Just wondered if anyone fancied a challenge to see how much we can each make from selling the unwanted stuff we have by Easter. I reckon I could get to about ?400 maybe?

We'd have to share our eBay names, and then keep a running total of everything we sell between now and 31st March?

For simplicity's sake I'd suggest we just tot up the totals invoiced (incl. P&P)rather than the net profit IYSWIM?
To include only unwanted items - not trading of new goods etc....

I thought if it became competitive it might spur me into action more !

I know I'm a late comer but can I join in? I'm at work so no time to read all thr post if anybody could give a synopsis I'd be really grateful. WIll try and list some stuff at the weekend, do I need to post a link to the stuff or anything?

tortoise · 26/01/2007 09:40

FFF- Either put your ebay name or post a link to your stuff!

FatFikAndFugly · 26/01/2007 09:48

ok, will post when I've listed this weeks items. First thing will be my stinky work shoes which I'm hoping to get a fair bit for after the 'sell you manky old shoes' thread.

Any new comers thinking of listing now id wait till all the grunge from the cheap listing day has gone...then people wont have to look so hard for your stuff as there will be less on!

justbeme · 26/01/2007 10:11

Can I join? Im Juliet0395 on Ebay.
Sold my first batch on 22/1 - Does that count? £34.10 in total.
Have 10 items listed now - only 1 bid but quite a few watchers.
I find it all so time consuming. The weighing of the goods and going onto Post office site for prices and then working out what to write and measuring for dimensions? Is there any easier way?
And then the constant email questions!! Good job I only work Part time!! Any advice would be appreciated - Thanks!

FatFikAndFugly · 26/01/2007 10:13

BIN v's Auction no conclusion?? eh what?

I've only sold about 20 thing on eBay before now so I'm fairly new to it.

Do I need turbo lister? I too find it all very time consuming (I work fulltime)

charliecat · 26/01/2007 10:15

Dedicate an evening to it...with tape measure, scales, you can get a leaflet with the RM prices on it to look at, get camera out, clear floor space for taking piccysn etc.

JARM · 26/01/2007 10:23

Hurrah! At last I start a thread which gets more than 3 posts

This is great, but I'm WAY behind you all already. We'll all have to be ultra honest about how much we're making, as I have no intention of keeping a running total (could be using that valuable time listing items!)

"Keep up the good work... You're all doing very well" (said 'Old Mr Grace' style.... remember him? Are you Being Served?..... Ho hum.... )
