Early Spring Clean : Anyone for a 400 pounds by Easter challenge?

Gameboy · 19/01/2007 13:44

Was listening to a radio programme the other day about making money from your old things and it made me realise how much stuff I've got 'waiting to go on eBay'.

Just wondered if anyone fancied a challenge to see how much we can each make from selling the unwanted stuff we have by Easter. I reckon I could get to about ?400 maybe?

We'd have to share our eBay names, and then keep a running total of everything we sell between now and 31st March?

For simplicity's sake I'd suggest we just tot up the totals invoiced (incl. P&P)rather than the net profit IYSWIM?
To include only unwanted items - not trading of new goods etc....

I thought if it became competitive it might spur me into action more !

I want to join too please, do you find it quite time consuming putting the items onto ebay though? is there a best time to list them?

Gameboy · 25/01/2007 14:17

This is all excellent - so glad I started this thread!

Bothered - have you tried Turbolister - let's you add things in a spreadsheet and then you can upload later.

I;m not sure about time - I always make mine finish in the evening after about 8 pm?

Turbolister is free to download - you can list all your items, but only upload when you are ready to. Be careful - you can choose to upload all at once, but if you are selling eg clothes in the same size it's better to upload one at a time in case the same person wants to bid on more than one item - they couldn't be watching them both at once so you might lose out! I usually list all my items, then transfer across spacing out the time or doing a few widely different items at once.

bothered · 25/01/2007 15:17

i have downloaded turbolister but it does not recognise my ebay password! Can anyone helpplease? Also - do you think its best to list for seven days or less?

satine · 25/01/2007 17:33

Is one of you lot bidding on my sewing machine?

I'm up to £107!!!

Have decided if I get to £400 I'm going to spend part of it on getting a good hairdresser to dye my hair red (a la Jane Goldman)

That'll give me an incentive to get listing!

JARM · 25/01/2007 17:39

WHY would anyone watch a BUY IT NOW item?!

I have 3, yes 3, people watching my maclaren pushchair! WHY?! JUST BUY IT!!!

katzg · 25/01/2007 18:09

\link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=12774&topicid=1375&threadid=269052&redir=12774put your things here, might attract some sales!}

lunavix · 25/01/2007 18:39

Can I join in please? I don't think I'll get that much, but I'd like to be motivated to sell something!

Does it count if we sell it on MN/Nappylady? It's just things eg nappies sell better there!

my ebay is punkvix btw!

fannyannie · 25/01/2007 18:50

woohoo - up to £30.40 now - one of my PS1 games is up to £3.20!!!

tortoise · 25/01/2007 18:59

fannyannie · 25/01/2007 19:55
