Early Spring Clean : Anyone for a 400 pounds by Easter challenge?

Gameboy · 19/01/2007 13:44

Was listening to a radio programme the other day about making money from your old things and it made me realise how much stuff I've got 'waiting to go on eBay'.

Just wondered if anyone fancied a challenge to see how much we can each make from selling the unwanted stuff we have by Easter. I reckon I could get to about ?400 maybe?

We'd have to share our eBay names, and then keep a running total of everything we sell between now and 31st March?

For simplicity's sake I'd suggest we just tot up the totals invoiced (incl. P&P)rather than the net profit IYSWIM?
To include only unwanted items - not trading of new goods etc....

I thought if it became competitive it might spur me into action more !

Yes postal orders cost more. Also think more people prefer to use paypal.Cheques need to clear 1st and i would probably forget to post then! Lol!

WriggleJiggle · 27/01/2007 17:42

Bah humbug, dh has just told me I can't join in just yet. I have to wait until nearer Easter before selling golf equipment. Still, I guess he's got a point, no one buys golf stuff in the winter.

cece · 27/01/2007 17:54

Most people send me a cheque. Once Iget the cheque I wrap the item, then wait for cheque to clear then off to PO....

JARM · 27/01/2007 17:57

I listed all mine for 3 days, all with Buy It Now or Best Offer.

I have comprimised on a few items, but thats the whole point. I also check what other things the same are going for, and slightly undercut if I can - guarenteed sale!

It also helps that my house is full of rubbish lol

JARM · 27/01/2007 17:59

oh and mine is all Paypal only, i know it costs to recieve the money, but there is the security of it.

i have accepted a postal order one one of my items, but have stated that it is a one off.

bothered · 27/01/2007 18:20

Hi, Ive placed 7 items and am up to wait for it ....£1.04 for one item a pair of maternity jeans - oh well..

nikkie · 27/01/2007 18:47

I do paypal or postal order as at least with them you can get the money straight away and it costs the buyer rather than the seller (like paypal)

nikkie · 27/01/2007 18:51

books on here

My ebay selling is now up to £44

charliecat · 27/01/2007 19:03

Tortoise, I didnt have any money to post the items and ran round to my friends coz she owed me some but she wasnt in. So I stood in the post office Q for AGES...hoping they took credit cards for payment for posting stuff and they do.
So out of my nearly £50 ten pound needs to go onto my credit card to pay for the postage when I withdraw it from PP.

tortoise · 27/01/2007 19:25

Oh dear! CC.
I had to chop up my credit card. Can't afford the re-payments.

tortoise · 27/01/2007 19:26
