Just to add - at least 50% of what I sold was originally purchased from eBay.

stressheaderic · 15/04/2012 16:34

Wow LapsedPacifist, that's two gold medals and a bronze for you already! Well done on your excellent ebaying, I hope to take a leaf out of your book.
Ebay v quiet at the mo, hope it picks up.

I am exhausted. I have been listing fancy dress outfits all afternoon.

I still have loads and loads to list but I think that is all I can stand for now.

I will have to remember to go and make them all live tonight or I will be charged for scheduling.

My current listings still aren't getting any bids.

Is anyone doing any better?

CointreauVersial · 15/04/2012 17:02

Not doing brilliantly; 16 items finishing tomorrow, two with bids and another four with watchers. They were all relists, though.

I try to end my auctions on Sunday evening, but I'm never sure what time is best. Between 6 and 8pm I'm generally too busy with dinner/bathtime etc. but after that seems a bit late.

Maybe I'll do it now and get it out of the way. I need to add photos for about 20 items; I was on the wrong PC when I did the listings.

jardy · 15/04/2012 17:04

Can anyone help please? My listed item (ends in 3 hours)has a defect.I have emailed the single bidder explaining that it has a defect,I described the defect.
She is bidding 99p on it.I dont want to be left negative feedback, tbh even with the defect,I think I would get a few more bids.Ideally I would like to take the item off,or is it possible for me to bid on the item?Any suggestions?I cant edit it,it is too late.It is described as new by mistake.

jardy · 15/04/2012 17:07

Wondering if I could post them to her, then just refund her everything.
It`s a bit annoying but I feel it is my fault. It is an item of clothing and I think judging by her description she has a clothes shop, and probably hoping to sell them on as they are described as NEW.

carrotsandcelery · 15/04/2012 17:30

Can you cancel the auction altogether and start again?

Tortoise · 15/04/2012 17:53

Think my items today will be all re-lists. Not in an Ebaying mood.

He he! Just finished listing all my Pippa Dolls and wardrobe (about 18 items in all); in the time it took me to add the photos and list them all I already had several watchers and a bid for £12 for one teeny tiny dress!!

This week will be interesting.

carrotsandcelery · 15/04/2012 19:31

Cointreau I shall be fascinated - will you be rushing to gold medal status in a week?

Our Ponyville stuff has a lot of watchers but no bids and only about an hour to go.

I wonder if it is all people with the same stuff wondering if it will sell Hmm

carrotsandcelery · 15/04/2012 19:39

I am off to read the dcs their bedtime stories and hoping that when I come back some watchers will have miraculously bid on our loot.

I can't stop checking every 30 seconds wee while to see if someone might have bid yet.

jardy · 15/04/2012 20:28

Thanks carrots,I will try and cancell it

chaosisawayoflife · 15/04/2012 20:50

I'm in! Fairly new to the ebay selling lark (not to buying though!) and have just listed 18 items. Going to try to get up to the loft tomorrow to see what else I've got worth selling. Now going to spend the next week obsessively checking for watchers and bids!

Gef · 15/04/2012 20:51

Can I join? listed 13 things this weekend, watchers on all, 10+ odd watchers on some, bids on three items totalling, erm, £11.38 Grin

but that's OK cause it's early days, and some of it is big collection stuff that I just neeeed to get out of the house / garden, getting a few quid for it is a bonus.

very excited and addicted to checking my selling page Smile

carrotsandcelery · 15/04/2012 21:10

After all that I made £39. I only sold 2 items, one of them being the Ponyville the other being a Mini Boden top.

I have to admit I am disappointed, despite knowing my prices were quite high.

I have relisted and listed so much stuff now that it won't let me list anymore so I have had to schedule my other listings for another 2 weeks and then we will see if I am allowed to list more or not.

Lets hope this week goes better.

My medal total is about £56 so far.

carrotsandcelery · 15/04/2012 21:11

Infact that is not so bad as I aim for £30 a week so I am just about on schedule. Grin

CointreauVersial · 15/04/2012 21:23

HA HA HA HA HA! Bids up to £30, and still a week to go.

Actually there are 24 Pippa clothing items, not 18. Bids on 5 of them so far.

Bitofastate · 15/04/2012 21:24

Up to £40 on the girl's clothes so far mainly mini boden/polly flinders etc. Finish tomorrow so we shall see where they end up.

carrotsandcelery · 15/04/2012 22:12

Oooh! I have cheered up. I have bids up to £9.98 already for next Sunday.

Ebay is the strangest place.

louiespence · 16/04/2012 06:19

Made £21 from listings ending last night, so just made my £20 target! Agree with others who said it was a slow week for watchers/bids!

Now have to find some more stuff to sell! I have quite a few books to get rid of, but these never seem to go particularly well for me - I think I listed and then re-listed a load last year about ten times, before getting fed up and putting them in a charity bag. Decent books too, think it is the postage that puts people off!

mygirllollipop · 16/04/2012 10:10

I'm always surprised. I think I have nothing to go on ebay, end up with 32 listings and make £36. I now have another 32 listings, some of them need revising as they were just to get the free listing.
Need to pack up 11 items and take them to the PO now.

toobreathless · 16/04/2012 10:39

What on earth are Pippa dolls & where do so find some to eBay? Grin

I made £10 from two items last night, pleased with that. My gro bag made £8.50 despite only having one watcher & one bid until the last minute.

Louiespence: books are tricky, I did sell a mixed bundle of fiction once as a collect only. 15 books picked up by a second hand book dealer for £8, I was pretty happy as otherwise it would have been the charity shop for them.

I listed 7 items last night & already have a bid and 8 watchers on the mini boden (age 7) jeans.

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 11:07

I am slowly gathering watchers and just about to brave figuring out how to package the Ponyville stuff.

CointreauVersial · 16/04/2012 11:17

Toobreathless - Pippa (and her friends Marie, Britt, Penny etc) was a doll really popular in the early 1970s - like a Barbie, but only about 15cm tall. She has a very snazzy 70s wardrobe.

My mum found my old box of dolls in her loft and passed them on to me "for the DDs". They weren't that interested, so I had a look on eBay....Shock apparently very collectible. I just hope the collectors are online this week.

stressheaderic · 16/04/2012 11:19

Just as a little bit of inspiration for us all...last year, I listed a set of small Mr Tumble snap cards which came on the front of Something Special magazine.... got £20 Smile
It's amazing (and brilliant) what will sell on ebay.
