Hazchem your link shows the login page and when I put my details it says the listing has been removed!
I have bids on two items which is not bad, I no longer expect bids until the last day Grin

hazchem · 12/04/2012 13:36

Humm right I am a total novice to this sorry!

The listing goes live tonight [facepalm] I'll re ask after it goes live.

I've got three other things 1 wallet which has bids and 2 pairs of shoes with some watchers but no bids.

toobreathless · 12/04/2012 18:53

Hazchem:

Good listing, just a few things to consider:

  • Would you be willing to post overseas?
  • Would you consider combining postage with your other items?
  • I personally find the (very nice) background distracting & would like to be able to read the print on the bottle so would use a closer up shot.
  • I assume you don't have the original box? I would probably say this.
  • I would say roughly how old it is, because perfume can expire.

Hope this is helpful.

hazchem · 12/04/2012 19:34

toobreathless That's really helpful thanks. I'll rephotograph the other ones so they have a clear background ( I was trying to be artistic:) )
It's only been listed for about 20 minutes and someone has asked for a buy it now price? Eeeek what would you do.

toobreathless · 12/04/2012 21:17

Up to you. Perfume can do quite well do I wouldn't put too low a buy it now price on it.

Is it still being produced? If so I might go for between 1/2 and 2/3 of the usual retail price if it is almost full.

If its no longer in production I would let the auction run as these perfumes can be very desirable & do very, very well.

carrotsandcelery · 12/04/2012 21:20

Have you looked up the going rate in completed listings?

Like I said, dh's became a furious bidding war and reached £36.

I would look up completed listings and see what they have sold for in the past.

carrotsandcelery · 12/04/2012 21:21

I have just peeked myself and they go for quite a lot.

dizzyday07 · 12/04/2012 21:58

I'm back! I signed up to the Easter thread but then couldn't find any motivation to list anything and seemed to be busy every Free Listing Weekend! But I got my act in gear and got some up last weekend - inc. 2 bottles of Eau De Toilette which both have bids!

baabi · 13/04/2012 13:02

Another free listing weekend if anyone is interested Smile
Just as well as I have lots of DD's dresses and skirts to list, she has become more of a jeans & t-shirt type of girl.
I have promised her half of whatever money I make on her clothes and toys so she keeps checking her wardrobe Hmm

carrotsandcelery · 13/04/2012 13:25

That is brilliant news as I have loads and loads to list. My whole lounge is full of stuff.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 13/04/2012 17:43

I've not got anything else ready to list - need to get soprted from the 61 things that are on atm!

Tortoise · 13/04/2012 19:27

Made £26 last night. Rest of my items end tonight. Disappointed in low amount of bids and watchers. Will just have to keep fingers crossed for bids. At least I can re-list all for free this weekend lol.

Bitofastate · 13/04/2012 19:39

can i join?

currently selling lots of mini boden / monsoon etc girls clothes from my daughters, a children's wardrobe (had to relist it after someone bought it but has been messing me around re picking it up), and will start listing dvds books i think shortly.

louiespence · 13/04/2012 20:02

Going well so far, 4 of my items have bids already and they don't end til Sunday so that's a nice surprise. Selling some random stuff too, an unwanted raffle prize of a biscuit icing book, a few unopened jigsaws of the DCs and a purse made of candy wrappers!

carrotsandcelery · 13/04/2012 22:03

I have scheduled 30 items so far for Sunday night.

I only have one bid on last weeks listings so far though so I may be relisting quite a lot as well as adding my new listings.

I still have loads and loads of items to list but think I should stop for now or I won't sleep.

Is anyone doing any better?

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 14/04/2012 08:03

Another bloody free listing weekend?? I want a weekend off! But then I'll feel guilty because no doubt there won't be another one for a month, and the stuff is sitting in my living room so I can't ignore it...what to do...

No, I'm finding it rather rubbish this week, Carrots. Nothing is shifting really. Although I have just realised that two of my items listed last week still don't have pictures- oops.

carrotsandcelery · 14/04/2012 08:33

I am just glad they are free listings if things are going to be so quiet. Maybe it is because of the holidays and people are away, so the coming week could be better.

HateBeingCantDoUpMyJeans · 14/04/2012 08:36

I will dip my toe if that's ok....btw I bought something recently and tge seller insisted on PayPal even though I collected and I wondered if it was one of you

carrotsandcelery · 14/04/2012 08:42

Wasn't me Grin

boredandrestless · 14/04/2012 08:44

I have been piling stuff in the loft since just before xmas for a car boot, optimistically thinking I can rope in a driver with a car to take me to the popular car boot around the corner. However maybe I should just stick it all on Ebay a bit at a time? It's mostly toys and boys clothes (ages between 6 and 8). Some books too.

Not sure whether to wait for a car boot or just go with ebay?

jardy · 14/04/2012 10:37

Hi Everyone,I am upto 38 pounds on bids.I think ebay is slow at the moment,no many watchers on my 50 odd stuff, which is mainly clothes

MustControlFistOfDeath · 14/04/2012 12:07

Weird ebay experience this week..

Item sold last weekend, buyer didn't pay so I sent the invoice reminder. Still didn't pay so next day I sent an email. Received an email back saying that she had paid via paypal. My ebay still said the item was unpaid.

I opened an unpaid item case, and emailed her straight away to tell her. I suggested she checked her paypal etc for any issues (as I had done). She emailed saying the payment had gone out of her paypal. Hmm

3 days later, she emailed me asking when I would be sending the item!!! I explained that I had not received payment so would not be sending, and that she would need to reply to the unpaid item case. She emailed me (quite shirtily) saying she had paid

I rang ebay at this point who were very helpful. She had manually marked the item as payment sent within her ebay, but had not paid.

I emailed her, told her I had spoken with ebay and that I would be closing the case to receive my listing fee back if she didn't respond.

Closed the case....she then left me (my first ever) negative feedback!!! How rude. I rang ebay and they removed it thank goodness.

What a loon Confused

Tortoise · 14/04/2012 13:25

Mustcontrol What a nutter lol. Taking a chance maybe of a free item!

Ebay is very slow at the moment. Only sold a couple of bits last night.
Does anyone think its maybe because of all the free listings? Start prices are higher and less bargain.

I was looking for some jeans last night. Gave up because they all seemed to be around £3 start plus the £3+ postage made them feel too expensive. I would probably bid upto £3 if started on 99p.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 14/04/2012 13:34

I think I have set some of my prices too high. I usually do on a free listing week and then see what happens as I can relist the next free listing if it doesn't sell.

Most of the things I have scheduled are 99p items which I don't expect to go for more than 99p really so they don't really need to wait for free listings. It needs to be done though to move some stuff along.
