Aaah. I was born in 1984 & spent first six years in Germany so probably explains why I hadn't heard of them.

CointreauVersial · 16/04/2012 11:44

Well done, stresshead!

Toobreathless - I was doing A-levels in 1984!

nsjuly · 16/04/2012 11:51

This thread is so inspiring and I'm dying to get selling. However my laptop is broken and I only have the iPad. I can't seem to upload pics to eBay using the iPad - does anyone know a way around this? I have loads of girls Boden clothes to sell. Thanks!

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 12:28

I am Shock at the Mr Tumble cards. How bizarre!

nsjuly do you have an iphone? I don't have one but I know a lot of iphone owners find it quicker to list things on ebay using it than the do on their laptops.

I have parcelled off yesterdays meagre sales. I posted the Ponyville recorded as it felt like too big a sale to risk losing the money. It meant I went over what I charged for postage by £2 I think but I am hoping it is worth it for peace of mind.

I have gathered a lot of watchers while I was packaging too. I am hoping that I might get a few people combining postage and buying a few things together as there are batches of the same sizes listed or same types of things.

nsjuly · 16/04/2012 12:43

I do have an iPhone carrotsandcelery, however I can't figure out how to sell on the eBay app. Perhaps I am exceptionally thick?!

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 12:46

I don't know how to do it nsjuly but hopefully some of those who do will be along soon to explain as I know several sellers do use it.

toobreathless · 16/04/2012 15:41

Nsjuly: I sell very successfully with the iPhone app.

Go to sell along the bottom.

Green box 'list your item' to add photos press the grey camera icon. You can then either choose a photo from your pictures or take ond there & then.

When your items are live go to your home page & in grey across the top you hand watching/buying/selling boxes. Block in selling to look at your items.

I REALLY like it. My phone notifies me when a bid is placed & when someone pays so I don't have to keep constantly checking. The only thing I don't think you can do is see your direct seller rating scores.

HTH.

toobreathless · 16/04/2012 15:42

Sorry about typos: toddler hanging off my leg!

dizzyday07 · 16/04/2012 16:42

Whoo hoo! Aftershave is up to £12 and there are multiple bids on DD's Playmobil!

nsjuly · 16/04/2012 16:50

Toobreathless thank you for that, however on my eBay app along the bottom there are icons for "home", "search", "my eBay" and "settings". I did a search and saw that there should indeed be a sell icon, same as you describe so I wonder if it is the fact that I'm in Ireland that's making the difference? Very strange. I can't understand it!

Well done dizzyday07!

Tortoise · 16/04/2012 17:09

I sell using my HTC. So much quicker for me than using laptop. Also love that I get a message when an item gets a bid!
Not much action on listings so far!

I have a ps2 and games to list that came into the charity shop that I volunteer at. The manager thought it was only good for the bin! I'm sure it will make £15+, then if it does sell I will donate some money back to the shop.

Can I join? I've got 21 things listed at the moment and a cupboard of things waiting to go

HateBeingCantDoUpMyJeans · 16/04/2012 18:02

Well I got 5 listed yesterday so it's a start.

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 18:26

I have 3 bids on 3 items and quite a few watchers so fx.

Someone has messaged me saying they missed the end of the auction last night and would like to buy the item.

I have already relisted it.

How can I go about selling it to them?

If they bid can I end the auction and just sell it to them and if so what do I do?

Or do I wait and let the auction run?

jardy · 16/04/2012 18:32

carrots this happened to me and I just let the potential buyer know it was relisted.I always have a funny feeling it could be an impulse -after all if they REALLY wanted the article they would be watching it like a hawk. You might get more if you let the auction run.
I think I will make about £70 this week.Lots of relisting. The clothes item which was listed as new but was actually used has been cancelled. The buyer was absolutely LOVELY,so understanding and even left me nice feedback. What a nice understanding person! That sort of cancells out all the non-payers which leaves a nasty taste, especially as it was my fault,I was rushing.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 16/04/2012 19:31

Well 56 out of my 61 items sold making me a grand total of £544.28 Grin

Luckily one local lady bought 11 items and I dropped those round this morning which saved me paypal fees and packing them. I spent ages last night packing up things for buyers who had paid - got another load to do tonight Sad

That's all of our big baby things gone now - need to have a look if there's anything else except clothes to do now.

Bitofastate · 16/04/2012 19:36

Dresser - £90 sold, wardrobe £30 and £5 petrol sold.

Currently all my daughter's old dresses are going for around £57 and there's an hour left . A few more big things to list maybe if I can be bothered sorting everything and cleaning it all.

Best thing for me though isn't the money - its the space in the house! Grin

Dizzy - what playmobil is it? Im terrible with the stuff, we've got the massive fairy castle, the grande mansion, the zoo etc etc, i'm obsessed Grin

dizzyday07 · 16/04/2012 20:00

BitofaState - It's a dressage/showjumping set

Bitofastate · 16/04/2012 20:04

honestly i buy it for me not my dds Blush

nsjuly · 16/04/2012 20:53

Yay I figured it out! I changed my settings to UK instead of Ireland and immediately the sell icon appeared at the bottom of the screen on both the iPhone and iPad. I will probably spend tomorrow morning going around the house finding things to sell. Did I read somewhere that there is a limit of 10 items at any given time?

Well done bitofastate and IwishIwasmoreorganised!

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 21:20

Bitofastate there is a history of Playmobil obsession with a few of us on these threads - you are not alone.

I can't believe how much money everyone is making. I wonder what the thread total will be by the Olympics?

nsjuly I think there is a limit of 10 things until you have linked your bank account to your paypal account.

I now have a limit of 100 things per month but have exceeded that so have a lot of things listed and scheduled in advance.

dizzyday07 · 16/04/2012 21:31

made £50 (gross) tonight and have a good few watchers on the bits finishing at the end of the week already Grin

SomebodySaveMe · 17/04/2012 08:25

www.ebay.co.uk/sch/piratesparkles/m.html?item=261001800109&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&_trksid=p4340.l2562

These are my listings. I have 13 watchers on one top which hopefully means it will pick up a bit before it ends tomorrow!

Tortoise · 17/04/2012 11:08

Need some advice please.

Buyer has emailed about item she won and received yesterday. Basically she says the colour is not as expected and wants a refund! The photo showed colour of it so I can't see why I should accept return on this item.

So what would you do?

OP posts:
dizzyday07 · 17/04/2012 11:35

Tortoise - I think colour is one of those subjective things. I bought DD some trousers that were described as "bronze" and that is what the picture showed but when they came they were actually khaki green!

Maybe it would just be easier to offer a refund upon return
