Thanks everyone Smile. Is the day of the auction day 0 or day 1?

LineRunner · 09/07/2012 17:38

I would say Day 1, unless it ends at night.

But I know nothing. Grin

Hope everyone is having success with eBay, recently had loads of non payers! It's so annoying but the automatic case opening system has been so helpful and quite successful in making people pay up :)

Here are my bits and bobs so far

LineRunner · 11/07/2012 14:39

They are fab photos, Cracked. My stuff looks like it just fell out of a cupboard (which it did....)

Must up my game. Grin

Been lucky with people paying up, though.

CrackedNipplesSuchFun · 11/07/2012 15:31

Thank you LineRunner. And pleased to hear you are having luck not having the non payers :)

If it helps, I take all my photos on a white or cream sheet, which I lay on my dining room table and position this under a window. The natural light does wonders for cracking photos!

LineRunner · 11/07/2012 20:15

Genius. Many thanks for the tip. Smile

I have to say things are slow this past few days.

RecursiveMoon · 11/07/2012 20:46

I got to bronze Smile! I think we're going to have a family holiday later in the year, so I'm hoping to be able to pay for our accommodation with my eBay earnings.

I opened my first case today. I'm going to set it up to do it automatically from now on.

Well done, Recursive. What kinds of things are you selling well?

RecursiveMoon · 11/07/2012 20:55

I've only sold maternity clothes, shoes, and baby things so far (either new with or without tags). I think it will get harder from here on!

LineRunner · 11/07/2012 20:58

I've sold mostly my daughter's clothes. (She's grown about a foot in a year!)

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 11/07/2012 21:07

I have one bid.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 11/07/2012 21:08

sorry

I have one bid, it's on a fabric patch for a band that broke up ten years ago, and I chucked on for the sake of it. I'm slightly amused.

It's not going to help me clear space in the house though!

LineRunner · 11/07/2012 23:51

Ooh, had my first bullshitter. 'Not as described' my arse.

LineRunner · 11/07/2012 23:52
RecursiveMoon · 12/07/2012 12:23

What happened with your pesty customer LineRunner?

LineRunner · 12/07/2012 14:56

She says the item I sent is damaged when it isn't. I've simply said to return. (Then I'll block her.)

RecursiveMoon · 13/07/2012 12:54

Yep, return, refund, block. She might not return if she was hoping for a partial refund / a refund before return?

LineRunner · 13/07/2012 14:10

Well, I haven't heard another word from her. I guess she was angling for a partial refund. As the next highest bid was only about 50p lower than hers, I'd rather have the item back, to re-list it. But I'm wondering if she'll damage it now herself.

RecursiveMoon · 13/07/2012 19:23

I think you might be right about the partial refund. In which case, she wants the item (but just wants to pay less for it), so will probably keep it instead of damaging it then returning it. Hopefully you won't hear from her again Smile.

LineRunner · 14/07/2012 14:37

Ooh, she's back! Still angling, I reckon.

Anyway, even if I refund her, I've finally made bronze! Smile

RecursiveMoon · 14/07/2012 15:11

Yay, congratulations Grin!

RecursiveMoon · 14/07/2012 19:09

Gosh, postage is expensive isn't it? It makes it difficult to sell anything cheap / small, as the minute you charge for 2nd class recorded delivery of a packet it adds on ~£3.

I thought I might get some of my last parcels through as large letters, but the post office just out them through as packets. Should I specifically ask? Would they be more likely to put them through as large letters if they were in an envelope? Sorry for the quite possibly silly questions Blush!

DontEatTheVolesKids · 14/07/2012 20:07

I don't bother with recorded delivery for low value items (

LineRunner · 14/07/2012 20:20

You can get proof of posting per item for no extra charge.

You don't get a tracking number, though, so have to wait for either feedback or 21 days to release the paypal dosh. (I think.)
