Grufflemummy · 23/10/2010 09:21

I have listed some more stuff to end next weekend, and have 11 finishing tonight here... I have over 60 watchers on my boden dress Shock cannot believe it! Think that's my most ever Grin

Should do okay tonight- all but one have bids now, so pleased about that. I am up to £160 roughly, which I'm really pleased with- never thought I'd make even a third of that tbh. This thread has been very motivating- thank you all!

DG- been to pick up my parcel - I love the tree and monkey! DS will be very pleased with his new stuff Grin

Does anyone know- with free listing weekend... if I start auctions on thursday at 0.99 (ie free) then on the weekend change start price to higher amount (eg 2.99) would there still be no fees?

Dumbledoresgirl · 23/10/2010 09:23

Fantastic Grin You do realise the monkey can hang off the tree don't you?

JustKeepSwimming · 23/10/2010 09:25

Hi can I join in?

I'm a relative newcomer to selling but have recently made £76 into my Paypal account - handy for Christmas:) - so am feeling pretty chuffed.

Have a disaster zone spare room to go through pre-Christmas so hoping I'll find more treasures to sell in there.

Also have a pile of stuff finishing today, though only 3 out of 11 bid on, i'm not worried as they are all relisted things that can just go to charity next week (as long as they leave the house at this point i don't care!).

Then i can focus on next lot.

DeadlyNightShadeofViolet · 23/10/2010 11:39

Morning all.

Sold a Nica handbag, a wii game and a bundle of DS's old Disney Cars and made £50 so am quite chuffed - have brio and duplo ending in a few minutes too.

roosterroo · 24/10/2010 15:10

Hi Eveyone,

Have taken advantage of free listing so here are my items.

Now can anyone help me I am sure one of you ladies made a Perry the platapus cake?? Ds1 is 11 next mnth and I am considering making a cake for himConfused and I know someone has made one!!

GruesomeShellChillingTortoise · 24/10/2010 17:01

rooster That was me [hgrin]. Took ages to do the icing but wasn't actually that hard. [hsmile]

GruesomeShellChillingTortoise · 24/10/2010 17:04

I have sorted out a pile of items to list and taken photos. Will start listing after DD's are in bed later. Hoping to get all done by 10pm!

JustKeepSparkling · 24/10/2010 17:36

So has anybody hit the £300 target already?

Not that I realistically expect to get that far, just curious how you're all doing.

4 out of my 11 items sold, now up to £84 + waiting for another £3.

On the downside though, the train table I'm bidding on for DS1 for Christmas just went up from 28 to 70!! Have increased my bid to 79, really want it as it's local to me for pick-up but may have to admit defeat if it goes past 85ish.

bumpybecky · 24/10/2010 17:40

got 9 things listed so far, but it's taking ages! doesn't help that the kids are really hyper today

I'll get some more done when the littlies are in bed :) for now though my listings are here

mygirllollipop · 24/10/2010 17:59

I always lurk on these threads and very occasionally post but I have actually managed to list this time. I have listed about 15 items using the trick of scheduling then before it gets scheduled to go live, make it live myself at the time I want. It has been really handy, so thanks!
I have some more items scheduled that I will make live myself this evening.
Will let you know how I get on.

Dracschick · 24/10/2010 18:07

justkeepsparkling last winter/christmas at a shop called 'home bargains' they had train sets similar to brio on a table all for £29.99

Dumbledoresgirl · 24/10/2010 18:21

Well, I made £30 this weekend, which, added to what I made last weekend, makes my total so far £122 - but £12 of that is ebay's when they take their fees. So, I have cleared £110 - a bit over a third of the way to target. Smile

Trouble is, I am not sure anything I have left to sell will do particularly well now. Sad My stuff, in case anyone is interested

Grufflemummy · 24/10/2010 20:51

Mine are finishing in half an hour... just getting a few more listings ready to go on tonight.

DG- yes, re monkey- DH was most impressed that the monkey's hands were at different angles for lots of different swinging poses Wink

I am liking the sound of a platypus cake tortoise!

notcitrus · 24/10/2010 21:37

Not many sales here - finally have a bid on a pen so have hit £50.

But just won a dresser for much less than I was willing to pay, which is great and will have more high shelves to keep things away from toddlers... got sniped on a lovely chest of drawers though.

About to list a few more small bits.

Grufflemummy · 24/10/2010 22:10

My sales went well tonight- best evening yet (aided mainly by Mini Boden)- I have now done £248.00 - just 50 left to go.

One added bonus is that because of all the time needed to list (photos, descriptions, etc) I am not buying so much atm Smile

GruesomeShellChillingTortoise · 24/10/2010 22:23

I have managed 22 listing tonight! Would have liked to do more but think everything else will be ok to start at 99p!

my items

Grufflemummy Pic of cake in my profile but will need to click on a post in my normal name! Smile

Tillyscoutsmum · 24/10/2010 22:26

All my listings have ended now. I have made £210 Smile Need to rummage through the loft and get some more stuff listed and hopefully sold.

I'm having problems packaging up a bouncy chair though, I have bubble wrap and brown paper and it looks like possibly the worst wrapped package in the world Hmm. Its a standing joke amongst my family and friends that I am atrocious at gift wrapping so trying to do something like a bouncy chair has been especially testing !

OhCobblers · 24/10/2010 23:03

well i'm up to £304 but haven't taken ebay/paypal fees off that yet.

have listed a few more tonight. have a massive bundle of babygros and vests to add but i can't bring myself to do it Sad

freefruit · 25/10/2010 03:00

well I take my hat off to you lot
I spent ages last weekend listing for the first time the first thing I sold went to someone who clearly had no intention of paying!!
Since then I have sold 2 nappy wraps and a pair of tights
I'm gutted my pushchair didn't sell since it would have been the cheapest by some way had it sold at my start price and I had 12 watchers!

JustKeepSparkling · 25/10/2010 06:38

Dracschick - thanks, i had a look but no Home Bargains near us. Plus i had got my mind set on the white Brio table (as if DS1 would have cared which one i know!), and i got it for £72, so a bit left in Paypal for a few other bits until I get listing with more stuff.

The spare room is calling :)

GruesomeShellChillingTortoise · 25/10/2010 08:45

freefruit Re-list the pushchair. [hsmile] Sometimes it takes a while to get bidders. What is your feedback like? If new to this it maybe because feedback is low and that can put bidders off. Keep at it though. [hsmile]

GruesomeShellChillingTortoise · 25/10/2010 12:01

I've just listed a little Halloween dress on a 1 day listing. Forgot to do it last time and getting bit close to Halloween now!

DirtyMartiniOfDoom · 25/10/2010 13:33

Freefruit, if you re-list and post a link here, maybe people can advise you on ways to make your listing even better? Only saying because I have seen that happen earlier on thread and it seemed to help people :)

Having said that, if you had 12 watchers then you're clearly on the right track. Probably you were just unlucky.

I have made, I think, about £200 so far -- that's a guess based on my paypal balance minus the fees and packing stuff. I am a bit rubbish about tracking my expenditure on polythene envelopes at the post office, though. I could probably pack stuff more cheaply (and ecologically) but they're just so easy. Managed to parcel up lots of things this morning with DS and DD around my ankles.

Getting stuff photographed in small batches for listing on Thursday and Friday. More kids' clothing mainly.

Someone paid me £12.50 for a used maternity nightdress Hmm; I think mainly because it is Isabella Oliver. I'm really worried they will be disappointed -- I mean, it just seems a lot to pay for something that isn't new, although it is genuinely in good nick ... I wrapped it in tissue paper to make it seem like er, a nicer shopping experience. Fingers crossed. Do you ever feel oddly guilty when stuff goes for more than you expected?

GruesomeShellChillingTortoise · 25/10/2010 20:54

Been offered a BIN of £15 for CD player. [hshock] Happy with that so have added a BIN to the listing. [hsmile]

OhCobblers · 25/10/2010 22:24

DMOD i know how you feel. even though you know its a great item i'm still waiting to get an email saying they're disappointed and want a refund.
even before i post it i'm double checking it to make sure its exactly as described in the listing!
