As the title really. My dd has bulimia. I found out on the 5th November 2013 and she's been in a eating disorder unit since.
Currently, she weighs 3st 4 Sad and last Wednesday she had a nasal-gastric drip inserted as she wasn't eating.
I am looking for advice and hands to hold please. I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place.
How can I not blame myself?

Her body has lots of healing to do too as well as the weight gain, so I'd tend to think it must be a week when the resources are used up on that.

Hope you're ok, bun. Flowers

I agree Ye, she's getting her energy back. Colours coming back to her cheeks. She looks more like her. As long as her body is healing then I am happy.

Oh, so happy to hear this. Flowers

It is wonderful Ye, I can see how far she has come.

I'm not around much nowadays as we are moving on Friday, but I do think of you all.
Ye thanks for PM.

Hi Zing! Good luck for the move. Do update us when you can and unpack the kettle first! It helps get you through the unpacking if you have a Brew.
4st 7. She has gained this week.
She's currently having a major meltdown (I'm posting from the unit) and I can't do anything for her. The nurses have taken her away to another room but I can hear her screaming. I'm not sure why she's like this today.

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 21/05/2014 15:25

Hoe are you, bun? Good to see you. Glad to hear she has gained a little more this week. So sorry to hear she is having a meltdown. Horrible to see when it's your teenager. Flowers Hope she is calm soon.

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 21/05/2014 15:39

Nothing's worth stressing over, particularly when pregnant. Am finally learning this at my ripe old age. GrinBrew

Hope today is a better day with no major meltdowns, bun. Flowers

I seem to be starting to tackle some knotty problems. Have had a sports massage for my frozen shoulder, and at counselling today touched on my relationship with DD2 which is going through a tricky patch.

HotCrossBunting · 24/05/2014 09:37

I'm doing ok Ye, glad to hear your sorting some stuff out.
DD isn't doing well. She threatened suicide and to SH the other night. She's on constant monitoring atm.

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 24/05/2014 10:55

There is a long road ahead. She will be watched in hospital 1 to 1, won't she?
I was dreading this with DD, it is the worst aspect of the illness. I am trying to let go of the dread of it and not be on constant alert. It takes effort some days, just to not worry or jump to conclusions.

I am concerned about how DD will come with sharing a kitchen and dealing with sharing a house at uni (in 2 years' time.) I'm not sure where to turn to get advice on how to help her prepare, sharing a fridge or a cooker and not stealing food or restricting.

HotCrossBunting · 24/05/2014 13:45

She has a nurse with her at all times and 10 minute obs through the night Ye.
It is the worst aspect of the illness, you live in a state of constant worry because you never know what might happen.
I have no idea about the uni problem Ye, do you have family therapy still? Could you ask the therapist to help prepare your DD?

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 24/05/2014 20:36

Family therapy every 3 weeks of so these days. Exams have got in the way a bit, but am so glad that DD is well enough to take them and feels she is doing the best she can. I'll ask DD about bringing it up. I don't get to see the therapist on my own at all.
