So, since there are only 3 posts remaining on the old thread I have made us a new home.

AF arrived for me today and although not what I wanted for Christmas this year made a perfect 28 day cycle so I'll take it! Here's to a January BFP.

Make yourselves comfortable ladies:

@ChunkyButFunky87 I’m so sorry for your friend. That is so sad.

@ChunkyButFunky87 I am so sorry to hear this, she must be absolutely devostated. When she's ready she should report wherever she went for a private scan as that is disgusting behaviour from them. I know it won't change what happened to her but I think I'd rather find out sooner than later. Hope all is well ladies.
It's been a busy week for me, I turned 30 and now I'm 35 weeks, I've got a scan on Wednesday that will hopefully go well like the others so I can keep her in till 38 weeks 😁😁

@Busybee143 that’s great you’re at 35 weeks - let us know how Wednesday goes. Fingers crossed for the 38 weeks.

@ChunkyButFunky87 @Coolhand2 how are you both getting on?

Hi ladies :) I haven't posted on here in a couple of months but wanted to come back and share some news, I'm not sure if it will help! I got my BFP on the fifth cycle after some interesting research about how sperm swim.

I don't know if you know this, maybe it's a "duh" fact, but apparently sperm can't swim along the vaginal wall. They can only swim across the cervix and in your cervical mucus. This isn't usually an issue for natural sex as the penis shoots out sperm at speed towards the cervix, so that's where most of them land. With AI, if you have a long vagina or don't produce a lot of cervical mucus, it can make things tricker.

With my successful cycle, I bought a cheap speculum from eBay, laid down on the bed with my legs up against the wall and managed to do some acrobatics holding a mirror and my phone (for the torch) in one hand, and located my cervix. I wound the speculum open so it stayed open and I was still able to visualise my cervix without holding the speculum. Then with my free hand, I dropped the sperm from the syringe directly onto my cervix - it was tricky but I managed to actually see it land on my cervix. I waited a minute or two and very gently pulled out the speculum an inch or two so I didn't disturb any of the sperm, then closed it and pulled it out.

I am convinced that's why I got my BFP this cycle, the sperm went exactly where they needed to be. I was using soft cups before and I just don't think they were bringing the sperm high enough because I've never had huge amounts of fertile cervical mucus either. I also did this at O-2 so it wasn't exactly great timing, but it still worked!

I really hope this helps someone and I'm sorry if I've said something a bit obvious, I just know how confused I was about the best method to use. This one was tricky and would be better with a partner to help, but I managed it on my own.

Hope everyone is looking forward to the long Easter weekend! I am 5 weeks on Saturday so still early days but I'm absolutely over the moon :)

Hi ladies, congratulations @restingwitchface86🥳 I am so happy for you, and pray you have a healthy pregnancy. That's so interesting about finding the cervix, so glad it worked.

Good to see things are going well with you ladies @Busybee143, you are almost there.
@ChunkyButFunky87, July is my birth month and I really like it, you will enjoy it for sure.

How is @H8624 doing?

I am 19+1 weeks now, and I found out this week that I am having a Girl🥰 I am so happy, after having 2 boys, I look forward to shopping in the pink section now. The pregnancy is going really well, just exhaustion, luckily working from home, I can rest during breaks.

Happy Easter 🎉🥳

@Coolhand2 how exciting that you're having a girl! The shopping is fun! I loved it even though there's so much less choice for boys!

I'm doing well thanks for asking - my little boy is 3 months old already - time is going so fast and he's grown so much already.

@ChunkyButFunky87 and @Busybee143 you're both getting close now! Hope the pregnancies are going well?

I hope it all went smoothly for you, enjoy the newborn bubble!

Congrats for the BFP ladies!

I'm 28+1 today, getting heavy and feel like he's trying to escape most of the time now! Due maternity leave in 10 weeks, hoping I can make it that far. I work 10 hour shifts and by the end of it, this last week my tummy has started to ache so I'm conscious just to listen to my body.

Hope everyone's doing well x

Congratulations @Busybee143, that’s lovely news.

Glad everything is going well @ChunkyButFunky87, hope you manage to work for as long as possible. You definitely do need to listen to your body though, 12 hours is a long time, especially if you’re on your feet for most of that.

So after the devastating news my friend received a few weeks back, her little girl was born sleeping yesterday afternoon as expected. I'm heartbroken for her and she's just broken in herself.

Life just seems so cruel sometimes. I feel so blessed to have this little boy on the way but I'm saddened that they won't get to grow up together and the plans we made just ripped away.

Trying to stay positive, I had midwife myself today and all was good, no signs of preeclampsia which may be a possibility so I'll take that for now.

Hope you're all well x

Glad to hear you are getting on well @ChunkyButFunky87. That is so heartbreaking for your friend. It does make you really appreciate what you do have. Eventually your friend will be ok and I’m sure will get the baby that she wants - it’s just so horrible she has to go through the heartbreak first

Great news that everything is going well for you @ChunkyButFunky87 but it must feel pretty bittersweet. It’s so sad for your friend and it’s sad for both of you that your little ones won’t get to grow up together. I’m sure that it’s hard for you too, it’s hard to be excited when your friend is dealing with such a tragic loss and this is a time you should be able to share.

Try to remember that you’re allowed to be excited, you’ve had your own journey to get to this point.

Your boy has grown now, wow, time really flies. Good to hear that all is well @H8624

So sorry to hear about your friend @ChunkyButFunky87, that's so terrible. I pray God gives them a healthy baby.

I am 25+1 weeks and so far all is going well. With the weather warming up I hope I can bike more outside and get some exercise, I have gained a lot of weight already.

I hope everyone is doing well and goodluck to you if you haven't gotten your BFP yet.

Morning ladies,

How are you all? It's been a while so thought I'd pop on and say hi. I hope your journeys are going well?

I'm 35+6 today, the heat is too much, 2 weeks left at work and generally just ready to have a baby lol

Baby still breach so potentially looking at c-section, discussing next week, he's also measuring big Confused

Hello all! I'm in a similar boat. My oh is asexual and while he loves me we don't have sex. Tbh I'm pretty fine with it - just makes having a baby that little bit harder! Oh well. I'm doing a month of opks but I'm yet to have a surge (or catch it!) So I think next month we'll just do the SI when the apps predict! It's been so lovely to hear that I'm not alone for various reasons 😊

Wow @Chunkybutfunky87 that feels like it’s gone so fast but at the same time it feels like you’ve been pregnant forever! 😂

Did you decide whether you’ll have a c-section?

Only one working week to go now, the countdown is ON!!

So happy for you x

Hi @Waiting2BAMummy not quite . . This morning I woke up with reduced movements (37 weeks today) so popped in for a check and turns out pre eclampsia has appeared (baby fine!) so I've now been admitted, given blood pressure meds to try and control and by tomorrow they'll decide if he needs out now or if they book in for induction, either way, doctor said it's likely he'll be here in the next couple of days - week at the most!!! ShockShockGrin

So yes, currently sat rather bored in hospital waiting to see what tomorrow brings! Shit a brick . . Not ready for this lol

I had a baby!!

1.7.21 our little boy arrived by elective c section, breech, weighing 11lb 6oz!!! He's absolutely perfect, I had a rough time of it, extremely sick all day long, couldn't hold him or do anything for the first 20 ish hours and with limited husband access it's been hard but we're getting there. Hopefully home tomorrow (or today now having seen the time!)

This journey has been worth every second, thank you all for the support x

Omg! Congratulations 🥳 @Chunkybutfunky87. I am so happy you get to hold your bundle of joy now. He is a big baby. So glad everything went well with delivery, enjoy him, God bless your family.

I am 32+3 weeks today, so far everything is going well. Maybe 7ish wks to go because I might get induced again.

Hi guys I've been catching up on the thread. Congrats @ChunkyButFunky87 that's amazing news, what a big boy you have. Nellie was born weighing 4lbs 7oz and at today (12 weeks 3 days) weighs 9lbs 😅 your newborn is bigger than my 12 week old 😂 I hope you're doing OK, I hear c sections are difficult to recover from, take it easy.

Glad to see you're all doing good guys xx

Hi ladies, how is everyone doing? I hope you are well.

I gave birth to my baby girl Aug 28 at 40+3wks pregnant. I was induced around 430pm and baby came in the morning at 650am, weighting 4.14kg, such a big girl, I was shocked. It only took 20mins to push her out but way longer with the older brothers who were smaller. We are home and recovering well.
