Aww kwick how long is the conference for? It's awful having to do stuff like that when you are just not in the mood for it. Hope it goes quick.

pez I am really excited for you, I hope this is your time Smile

StorkAhoy · 09/04/2017 18:21

Ha! I know what you meant caution!

And pez, you are totally correct, one must take control. I would add to that that given the amount of money we are laying out I do expect a certain level of customer service though! Wink

Loving benji kwick!

pickle162 · 09/04/2017 19:57

Make sure you leave early kwick.... 6.30 start on a Sunday fxxk that for a laugh 🙄 hope u don't meet said dickhead!

Hi benji welcome to the gang 😊

Feeling rather exhausted after my weekend of babysitting (not the babysitting itself, just the late nights 2.30am Friday and 1.30 last night) zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

kwick · 09/04/2017 21:04

I am not sure Benji could savage anyone - he is such a good doggy!
I saw the horrid man but managed to avoid him - unlikely I will be able to do this all week though. Conference ends Thursday. Huge conference - more than 500 of which I "should" (I am terrible with faces and names) know at least 200...
I am back in room - ordering room service.
It is so funny everyone that knows about my new role think its a huge promotion.... little do they know!!!

I agree stork - yes I am interested in knowing the details about my treatment but I am a lay person and I expect the medical staff to be on the ball - as I may not realise there was even a ball... if you get what I mean!!!

pickle hope you can get an early night!

Good luck @ the conference kwick. Is it ASRA? (Don't worry if it's too identifying)

Thanks for all the positive vibes for my embies. I am booked in for this afternoon unless the clinic call this morning. Unfortunately I have to go to work as today is my first day heading up 2 departments rather than just 1 so need to be there for my new teams. I don't have great phone signal in the office either so will be balancing it on the windowsill or something to make sure I don't miss the call.

In the IUI v IVF debate, I agree with trying IUI. We had 3 stimulated IUI & while they didn't work all 3 goes were less £ than 1 cycle of IVF! I'm not sure how I would've coped with natural though - I like to be certain about what's going on in there!

Pez82 · 10/04/2017 07:10

Line got stronger and is nearly as dark as the control line this morning - phew! This whole thing is really about taking it one day at a time...

Cazinge, any news on your little embies? Are you going for your transfer today or Wednesday?

Munro, how's your TWW going?

Hi everyone else!

kwick · 10/04/2017 07:30

Not ASRA caz it is an internal conference.
Best of luck for your big day!

Yep one day at a time pez! But this is a good sign.

Munrowalker · 10/04/2017 07:35

Arrgh @pez I'm going back to work today. Not sure if that's helping with the TWW or not. Caved and did a test this morning. It's negative. But what did I expect? It's still 5 days too early....should I see a faint line at this point?
I'm trying to stay positive and realistic at the same time. It's really tough.

Pez82 · 10/04/2017 07:44

Good luck going back to work Munro, hopefully it will take your mind away from the TWW. Are you 9dpiui? That is way too early to test!! Hang on in there and wait at least a couple more days before testing again. Fingers crossed!

INeedNewShoes · 10/04/2017 08:41

Munro - I agree with Pez. You're setting yourself up for disappointment testing do early - either a negative test or a very faint line that isn't really conclusive anyway. When testing early, 'squinters' (really faint lines) have a nasty habit of turning into chemical pregnancies anyway. If you can wait until 12dpo and get a lovely clear line like the one in Pez's photo you can be reasonably hopeful that it's a BFP that's going to stick for more than a couple of days.

PhoenixMama · 10/04/2017 12:03

Morning lovely ladies!!!

First off - PEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spend the weekend with DD and you get knocked up confirmation! How amazing. Fingers crossed its sticky!!! Is it weird I got all teary when I saw your line?

Kwik Not sure it would help but when you see this dickhead just think about all of us having your back. We could savage him if Benji wasn't up for the task!

Caution I know what you mean about going straight to IVF but I too have decided to start with IUI. I know it probably makes no difference at all but it feels like I'm kind've easing my body into it...

Cazinge Good luck for today!

Good luck being back Munro!

My dd has gone to her dad's and I'm part happy and part heartbroken. She's doing better post tonsils. When she was poorly she told me she wanted to play a game about naming babies Hmm So if i do get knocked up I have some definite front-runners. She's so perceptive I'm sure she has an idea of whats going on. I'm feeling so impatient now and just want it to be May!

PS - SnorkMaiden I love your name - DD just got a Snork Maiden doll and it even went to the hospital with her. x

Munrowalker · 10/04/2017 15:18

Well I'm surviving work. Everyone's being lovely with the exception of one person but I can cope with that!
Thanks for the slap on the wrist ladies for early testing.
I'm building myself up for a BFN anyway. Need to prepare myself mentally...and anyway; who wants a new year baby anyway? (At least that's what I keep telling myself)

Munrowalker · 10/04/2017 15:19

Haha can I borrow Benji to bite this horrible work girl on her bum???

Pez82 · 10/04/2017 15:37

Keep up the PMA Munro!!
If this one sticks my due date would be 20th Dec so I'll just assume it will be a Xmas baby!

Im working but really don't feel like it. I've ordered the pregnancy book from Kaz Cooke (The rough guide to pregnancy and birth) and will go and collect it after work. I'm quite superstitious so I really hope this doesn't bring me back luck. I wanted to wait until the beta but with the long weekend coming up I really want to have the book with me 😊

Cazinge, any news?

Latenightreader · 10/04/2017 15:40

Thanks for the lovely thoughts everyone. I had my expected negative test this morning and am psyching myself up to phone the clinic to let them know. The last month has been so much more emotional than I anticipated, and I feel exhausted. I think it is worse than IUI because with that I knew I had IVF as The Big Gun, and now I just have one more go at that and then the dream is over.

Pez you definitely didn't sound gloating - enjoy it!

taydex · 10/04/2017 16:06

Benji is adorable.

The Kaz book is a good one. I think I may have ended up with 2 copies if anyone wants one?

cazinge · 10/04/2017 19:11

So sorry late (hugs)

I have 2 embies on board, one was 8-cell & one 6-cell and only slight fragmentation on the 8-cell. Not sure why as they were both doing well they decided to put two back (which I think contradicts their SET policy). I had to sign my life away re increased risk of multiples but went with the embrologists recommendation. The other 9 are still going and are all at least 2-cell with a couple of lower grade 6-cell and some 4-cell. They will continue them all until Weds to see if any are suitable to freeze.

The TWW begins....

CautionHormone · 10/04/2017 19:18

Stork, phew!! I'm glad you got what I meant! I didn't mean to come across as rude; I'm sorry Blush

Pez I'm so happy that the line has got darker this morning. Yay!! I'm so happy for you... I don't think ordering the Kaz Cooke book is doing anything wrong, enjoy reading it!!

Phoenix I'm glad your DD is better post tonsils... Having them out can be awful! How old is she?

Kwick, don't worry about the dickhead. As someone said, imagine us all there backing you up Wink

Phoenix & Cazinge - I get what you mean re IUI v IVF. I just worry that I won't get my weight off in time (BMI: 35) and it'll cause an issue, because everywhere I've read/every professional I've spoke to has said weight can cause problems. I know it'll be the same if I have IVF too, but because it's more - rigorous? - I just feel like it'll have a better chance of bypassing my weight problems and working. I don't know if I'm explaining myself properly or not haha 😂!

CautionHormone · 10/04/2017 19:20

Taydex - I'll grab the book off you if that's okay, and if nobody else wants it? I know it's quite soon for me to be reading books yet but being the bookworm I am, I like to get my stock up! 😂
I don't mind paying. 😘

CautionHormone · 10/04/2017 19:22

Oops cross-post!

cazinge that sounds positive! 2 embies - wow! When's your OTD? Your TWOT officially begins now Grin enjoy!

cazinge · 10/04/2017 19:30

OTD is 24th - ages away!!!

pickle162 · 10/04/2017 19:39

Yay for darker line pez hope ur beta goes ok tomorrow

Cazinge good luck, hope ur implanted (& Petri dish) embies behave and keep dividing :)

Kwick hope u can avoid douche-bag as much as possible. Does today's conference finish earlier?
I slept very well but def an angry monkey today, just want to tell everyone to fek off, had to write some tactful emails so not to offend anyone but whilst saying my point before I explode.
Found out cost of my medication today £166 (may require 1-2 more menopur depending on follies growth)coming out Thursday then hopefully I'll get a call from the delivery people and it can live in my fridge for a while :) this seriously the only thing keeping me going at mo, finding work crap really hard at the mo.

Hope everyone's ok x

StorkAhoy · 10/04/2017 19:49

Hi all!

cazinge congrats on the embies!

pez remind me when OTD is?

late I'm really sorry honey. When you say it's over after the second one, may I ask if that is due to money, or how you feel about ivf, or was it a package? I bought a two package, now save no for the lucky number three!

Just got off the phone with Wales fc and have a blond hair, blue eyed teacher donor daddy on ice ready for July. And he has positive pregnancies on file. #thirdtimesacharm?

pickle162 · 10/04/2017 20:04

Stork just read that and my head automatically translated fc as football club rather than fertility clinic!(that's how silly my brain is at the mo!) ur new donor sounds lush. Good luck my lovely x

Pez82 · 10/04/2017 20:26

Good news about the embies being on board Cazinge and fingers crossed you get some frosties on Wednesday.

My OTD is tomorrow Stork, which is just 14 days post egg collection. I go for my beta tomorrow first thing. Great news on the new yummy donor 😊

Now off to read the chapter about week 4 and reassure myself that a bit of cramping is fine...
