There are quite a lot of football fans on MN, and also loads of football-haters. If we hide here in Dadsnet, none of the detractors will find us. But if they do, they are welcome to come here and moan.

You don?t have to be male to post here, of course. (No-one would say women can?t post in the Dadsnet section, just like no woman would EVER say men aren?t welcome on Mumsnet?)

Footy fans please sign in with

  1. Which team you support.
  2. Which team(s) you loathe.
  3. How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team.
  1. A thought on the season so far (Premiership/Championship/Champions? League/FA Cup/League Cup/(el clasico?)/World Cup bids.

Ironic that Rooney goes through an entire league season without as much as a booking, then is banned for 2 games at the Euros.

Barry - no, not offering much value added is he?? and yes, Gerrard and Lampard in the midfield (and Terry at the back) is hardly the big prep for 2014 Brazil is it??

BelfastBloke · 30/05/2012 00:16

Oh thanks for reminding me:

If John Terry is going to be in defence during the Euros, then why the FUCK wasn't he playing on Saturday. Surely with limited time, Woy has to pick as close to his opening team as possible?

Why was Terry included in the 'let's give everyone who played in the Champions' League Final an extra break'?

HE DIDN'T PLAY. BECAUSE HE'S A TWAT.

He only dressed up like he played.

Claim to fame - I 'performed' in the Kiev Olympic Stadium in 1987....will go and find a piccie.....

BelfastBloke · 02/06/2012 07:45

So where's this picture then, Pan?

You weren't a pole-dancer, were you?

OP posts:
Pan · 07/06/2012 20:54

I'm being a tease, aren't I? ( worse than a pole-dancer!)

In the meantime, what are we saying about the Prospekts? England 'dogged' but dull? Really hope the Arsenal 100 metre relay squad get a chance, and young Danny Boy gets to shine.

Pan · 08/06/2012 22:18

Shall I stir the Euro tanks?

I organised a sweepstake at work, and I pulled Russia. Which I was a bit meh at the time, but seeing tonights game, maybe not so much!
Needless to say the least footie people in my team pulled Germany and Spain. The bloke who pulled out Spain looked at me and said "Is that good?". Crumbs..

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/06/2012 22:31

I got Republic of Ireland. You can buy a Ukraine flag in Asda but not an ROI one!

Pan · 08/06/2012 22:46

That is sooo funny!

I reckon if any team get out of the group stage, then it's all up for grabs. Incl RoI. And Russia!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/06/2012 22:52

We have set up one of the meeting rooms as a football den at work (I run a call centre). Projector screen, pop and crisps all decorated with flags.

Pan · 08/06/2012 23:00

I manage a large office which is mainly female, and def. 9-5, so most of the games will be at the end of the working day, and when I am biking-train-biking home.(past the Etihad Stadium which still hurts, slightly.Smile)

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/06/2012 23:08

You are lucky ! We work til 9pm and mainly male twenty something's.

Pan · 08/06/2012 23:22

Male 20 somethings? Piece of cake!

Am really impressed with 'our' goal keeper, and the midfield, and the strike rate per chances.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 09/06/2012 07:19

It's a piece of cake but boy - 200 and odd in an office and there is a big stench of farts by tea time!
A lot of people were saying they think Andy Carroll might turn into a bit of a star for us , after his rubbish season.

Pan · 09/06/2012 15:08

Eeeewwwww.....(not to AC).

KenDoddsDadsDog · 10/06/2012 19:41

Anyone watching ?!

Pan · 10/06/2012 19:42

just back and switched!

Pan · 10/06/2012 19:49

BB's quiet. Again.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 10/06/2012 19:51

Oh cak

Oblomov · 10/06/2012 20:08

Go on you Paddy's.

Pan · 10/06/2012 20:44

oh dear. Still it's still to play for.

as an aside I've sent some photos of the Kiev Olympic stadium in the Soviet times, with me in it....but this was before digital cameras (And the interweb), as a sort of contrast to what it was like then compared to the space-age 'set' for the finals....

Pan · 10/06/2012 20:46

HQ may be able to convert pdfs to jpegs! < dragging my I.T. knuckles now....Grin>

Pan · 10/06/2012 21:00

yes, isn't this situation made for McLean?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 10/06/2012 21:25

Grrrrr
