I have looked in to it and watched/read a lot of things and can't help but think this is most likely true.

Although it's likely we will never know the truth.

Yes, I find right wing trolls trying to divert attention and police resources away from genuine trafficking cases and towards weird conspiracy theories about cabinets deeply disturbing.

It’s a known and well-reported fact that pizzagate diverted police resources. It’s extremely weird that someone who claims to care about trafficking victims is being so dismissive and trying to deny reported facts.

I’ve been a regular poster on MN for seven years. I’ve posted numerous huge long posts in the past about the realities of child trafficking, the issues with confronting trafficking, and how media misrepresentation hurts those already most at risk. You can read those posts in some of the other Wayfair threads. I don’t see anything similar from you, just a load of gaslighting and accusations and bizarre “😂” emojis.

My comment about how conspiracy theories divert police resources - the comment you rejected and belittled - explicitly referred to pizzagate.

You’ve ridiculed and belittled posters far more than has been done to you. Plenty of posters have posted facts and figures and articulated why this theory is not based on fact. Posters have provided links to legitimate sources for information on trafficking. You’ve not even attempted to provide one single bit of evidence to support this theory, just yelled at and thrown nasty accusations around.

This is the second thread this week I’ve seen where an OP posts this story and says something like I’m confused/some of this sounds convincing. It’s clearly muddled bizarre nonsense and I really question the motivation of people who seem to be trying to give it legs. My own personal conspiracy theory is that there are dark forces out there who are using this type of thing to undermine the very notion of truth / objective reality.

This would be the funniest thing I've heard in years if it wasn't for the dark subject matter. I am close to someone who works in the field and he just rolled his eyes when I told him. I think he's often exposed to idiots thinking they know how it's really done when they actually haven't got a clue. Obviously he's not going to put them straight.

If I were to listen to such ridiculous stories from these impressionable and naiive people, (the mental health of whom I really worry for) then I would be scared to order a pair of jeans, half of which seem to have girls' names.
