Wayfair Scandal

What are your thoughts on the above?

I have looked in to it and watched/read a lot of things and can't help but think this is most likely true.

Although it's likely we will never know the truth.

If you believe it then I think you need to educate yourself about retail practices.

When items are low in stock, some retailers jack the prices up to discourage sales of items but it allows them to keep the item listed for viewing and interest.

If you try to purchase an item after a price gouge your order would most likely fail.

The names of the items are very common names, and the ones that are less common have caused a commotion with kids who aren't actually missing, as they're having to defend their status.

Not to mention, trafficking in plain sight would be a piss poor decision on the traffickers part when the Darknet is easily accessible, encrypted and doesn't run the risk of some one opening the box for their new Annabelle wardrobe and actually finding little Annabelle.

SickOfNorthernExile · 18/07/2020 17:36

Some of the responses on this thread have made me howl.

Unfortunately I know enough about human trafficking (second hand but trusted friends working in criminal law) to say categorically that this is the biggest load of bobbins I’ve ever read.

Trafficked children are not being advertised as wardrobes and dining chairs. I promise you there is absolutely no need for paedophile rings to operate in this way, nor would they take this kind of risk.

The dark web (which is really just “the internet”, and a huge percentage of sites actually- what you see on search engines is a tiny tiny tiny percentage of sites in existence) doesnt need nor use Wayfair as a shop front.

Jaxhog · 18/07/2020 17:37

How utterly bizarre.

Still, some people seem to believe everything they read on social media, so may be quite an effective way for a foreign power to disrupt an economy.

Jaxhog · 18/07/2020 17:38

No-one inside my cushions either.

notanotherpothole · 18/07/2020 17:42

Wayfair is a site that many retailers sell through, like eBay. Quite often if a product is out of stock they inflate the price to something ridiculous so no one buys, then reduce to normal when it's back in stock. Its easier than removing the listing and then relishing at a later date. No fancy conspiracy.

Rebelwithallthecause · 18/07/2020 17:42

@SickOfNorthernExile that’s reassuring at least. (Whilst also very sad and scary that It’s accessible on the dark web)

It’s a horrific invention the www despite being totally revolutionary and amazing at the same time

SerenityNowwwww · 18/07/2020 17:44

I bought my MIL a sideboard for her hall. I must ask her to check.

Pobblebonk · 18/07/2020 18:06

It's truly frightening that there are people stupid enough to believe such obvious nonsense.

user1209 · 18/07/2020 18:12

I was actually on the Alleged Russian website and wrote in one of the product codes from one of the wayfair products themselves (before they were taken down) and although I couldn't understand anything it said as I can't read Russian, when I clicked on images it was deeply disturbing pictures of semi naked kids.

Although it is very true, if this were true, the kids would most definitely die in transit.

Around 7 months ago I purchased my cot from there and while browsing there was a couple retailed at £15,000 and the exact same ones were also there for a couple of hundred pounds.

Things like this are really not that hard to believe when there are so many deeply disturbed predators in this world.

The above has graphic descriptions of a police officers account of what he has come across regarding child pornography.

Although unrelated to wayfair, this is a powerful video.

If you put in a random series of numbers you will get the same result.

It makes me truly consider whether democracy is all it’s cracked up to be Grin These people actually decide who runs the world. Fucking terrifying.

Nah. It's obviously paedogeddon. You and your bloody reasonable explanations.

The episode from November last year about human trafficking is worth listening to.
Although I doubt that there's anything that will persuade some people on this thread that this conspiracy theory is a pile of shite.

Pobblebonk · 18/07/2020 18:38

That would have happened if you put in any random set of numbers.

Honestly, if you believe this nonsense, please don't exercise your right to vote.

VettiyaIruken · 18/07/2020 18:41

Really?
They have a website out there on the internet available for all to see, and they use it as code.

Really?

Rebelwithallthecause · 18/07/2020 19:13

When you google a random set of numbers you don’t come across a Russian paedo site 😂
There really is some naivety going on to just insult anyone who is has concerns about this sort of stuff

I can’t imagine any mother or parent not being sickened by the news that is happening daily now

I’m so glad there are people speaking out publicly like this now

Yes, you do. Not sure why you find that so hilarious.

Yes, I find right wing trolls trying to divert attention and police resources away from genuine trafficking cases and towards weird conspiracy theories about cabinets deeply disturbing.

Nobody said that you did. The allegation was that the numbers brought up the pictures either on the site, or onto Yandex (which has now been corrected) preceded by the term Src USA
Comefromaway · 18/07/2020 19:45

To make that clear. You had to enter The numbers/code onto the Yandex search engine

cliffdiver · 18/07/2020 19:47

I've given my Frida Kahlo canvas a shake, definitely a print, not a real person.

AlexCabot · 18/07/2020 19:52

I have some magic beans for sale and I think I've found my customer base.

Rebelwithallthecause · 18/07/2020 19:54

Yes I think you might have Grin
