i love the English version. The first episode is always a bit manic so will reserve judgement. It’s interesting though the names of two traitors have already been brought up!

I’ve lost all interest now that Paudie is gone.

Bishopsbuddy · 17/09/2025 12:28

Gutted to see Paudie go last night. He was the one winner for me. I don’t really care for any of the rest.

CheeseDanish · 17/09/2025 12:32

I watched a couple of the Uncloaked episodes last night, having not seen most of them before. I was cracking up that Andrew, who was pretending to be from Cork to distance himself from Paudie, and had rashly borrowed his wife's Inchigeela birthplace, was apparently fielding questions from Eamon about some Inchigeela pub, and someone else turned out to have a granny from Baile Mhúirne and lots of local knowledge from just down the road, so poor Andrew was panicking.

Two of the people on Uncloaked (I never have any idea who these random panellists are?) did ask the obvious question about whether Andrew was panicking about questions about where he'd gone to school, Ireland being a small place.

I also thought it was really funny that Paudie missed his father's anniversary mass while he was in the castle, and when his brother couldn't get in touch with him about it, Paudie's wife had to pretend he'd suddenly decided to go back to work in the prison service, having been retired for 15 years!

MintLion · 17/09/2025 12:40

I loved Paudie shaking hands and accepting sympathies from the mourners at the funeral, you'd know he's been to a few more funerals than the younger crowd. He said he was evening thanking them for coming 😂

That was so funny.

CheeseDanish · 17/09/2025 14:11

It's actually quite funny (and possibly slightly weird) that the Ireland that's being conveyed in tasks is very trad (early 20thc rural funeral, keening women, ogham, piseógeanna, what looked like a Book of Kells-style illuminated manuscript in the church etc), and the Ireland of the contestants is an Ireland of immigrants, gamers, content creators, tattoo artists and people who are crap at Irish.

And also the death notice wasn't even posted on RIP.ie....which is truly 21st century

Dozycuntlaters · 17/09/2025 15:18

how Is everyone watching this? I’ve had a look on RTE player but can’t seem to find it? Love Traitors!

MsFelicityLemon · 17/09/2025 15:18

A good few of them were at the shaking hands and thanking people for coming, while looking serious.. It was funny to see them all looking so serious. I thought last night all the old/trad Irish being shown is to appeal to the US audience, as RTE need to make money off it.

The US one's nuts there's so many "big personalities' in it. Quite different to this one.

I don't agree it's better than year's UK one - i really enjoyed that, had a likeable characters, irritating egos, plus the whole fake accent thing (not a spoiler anyone who wants to watch - it's revealed to viewers at the start). The Irish one's going great, doesn't have to be "better" than other ones to achieve that

I watched the first 6 on RTE player - they were really pushing it, it was very obvious and easy to find. Strange that it's not coming up for you.
I've watched the latest three episodes as they were aired.

I think Andrew was lucky to not be outed as a fake Corkonian from what he said on Uncloaked! I think it would have been well-nigh impossible for someone to try a fake accent and get away with it like Charlotte pretending to be Welsh in the UK one!

Is it being sold to the US? That might explain why stuff that an Irish audience might find hilarious (like Eamon grilling fake Corkonian Andrew on Inchigeela pubs) hasn't made the edit.

Isn't the point of the US one that everyone is an alumnus of other reality shows, though? So they're been cast for their big personalities. (I mean, I haven't seen it, but that what I understood.)

Yes They are all known from different reality shows. All that big personality energy makes for some crazy arguments, plus they know each other or presume things depending which reality show they are from.

It's different from the Irish and UK ones. Still enjoy it. Not seen any other country's one.

Oh i don't know if it is. Just thought might be as other traitors end up in different countries.

It waa just last night had an American Irish feel to it. You're right too, the whole connections things is missing- we see so little of the chat between them. Did Eamonn reveal that on Uncloaked? Don't watch that- what was Paudie like on it?

TartanCulshie · 17/09/2025 21:24

Gutted to see paudie go. And to be ousted by nick (I've swung again and don't like him (again, for now!)).

Amy and kelley are sooo under the radar, and not linked to him at all. I think they would be a good shout.

Or, for the sake of comedy - wilkin. Slick nick all privilege and gameplay, and wilkin who possibly has a concussion as nothing he says seems to make sense

Christine was brilliant. She'll be missed.

Maybe if they vote out Vanessa it might spur Oyin to speak up!!!

MsFelicityLemon · 17/09/2025 21:54

I like Wilkin. He seems to operate on his own wavelength - I’m not entirely convinced he’s even playing the same game as the rest of them.

Had to laugh when Nick*, the illustrious Chairman of the Delusion Board, pressed Wilkin to declare what ideas he’d contributed and Wilkin said “none,” and didn't seem to care

  • think it was Nick, though i recall things with less clarity then the Paudfather, so I may be wrong.

I didn’t watch Eamon’s Uncloaked — I found him annoying enough on the show.

Andrew said it on his Uncloaked episode. He seemed as nice as you’d expect, and was funny about ‘Daddy’ and calling him ‘Dad’ to other people, and being slagged off on the family WhatsApp.

Paudie was adorable on his. He and Christine were on the same one, and were a funny double act. I loved him talking about him missing his dad’s anniversary mass, and his wife having to pretend to his brother (when Paudie wasn’t answering his phone) that he’d gone back to work in the prison service.

I would adore Wilkin to become a traitor. I have this vision of everyone else going mad-eyed with sincerity and swearing on their mothers’ lives they are 110% faithful, and Wilkin saying ‘Am I a faithful? Can’t remember…’

Maybe it's all an act, and the real Wilkin is a gimlet-eyed strategist who has been method-acting being permanently stoned to seem as if he's not a threat.

So Nick recruits him as an easily-managed disposable traitor and suddenly the Wilkin who pushes back his traitor's cloak hood for the first time in the dungeon is a total snake behind the scenes, uses his unthreatening doofus act to get rid of Nick, then pick off everyone else one by one till he's left in the final with one faithful who is convinced he's too dozy to be a traitor, and goes home with the 50k...?

Taytocrisps · 18/09/2025 22:50

I've just caught up on the weekend's episodes. So Andrew, Patrick and Paudie have all gone. I'll miss Paudie the most. His, "I'm not a fucking hugger", was hilarious. Although Andrew reckoned that was just a strategy to get Nick to do all the dirty work. And Paudie commenting on how it felt like a real funeral.

Christine and Faye got very emotional. I wonder if they were mortified watching it back?

Now that the numbers have reduced considerably, it's getting more interesting, because I've a better handle on who is who. I'd like Vanessa or Oyin to win.

Wilkin is hilarious - everyone else is making serious allegations and then he votes for an unlikely contender. And I think someone voted for him!

If I was in Nick's shoes, I'd recruit Oyin or Ben. I thought it was interesting that Nick and Paudie voted for each other - there was no alliance there at all.

Andrew got married recently - his wedding photos popped up in my Facebook feed.

honeyrider · 18/09/2025 23:14

Paudie was interviewed on Newstalk today and he said he does hug but wanted Nick to do it.

Find Australia series 2. I won’t spoil it but it is worth a watch!

We’ve just blasted through all the episodes in 3 nights - will totally miss the absolute chaos merchant that was Paudie! Delighted he got as far as he did and outlasted Eamonn and Katelyn, would have loved him to win it.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 21/09/2025 18:27

@CheeseDanish I thought the same on the vague background stuff, maybe they were told not to ask? There is no such thing as 'I'm from Limerick', to an Irish person. You need to at least specify a point between two towns! Andrew claimed to be from Cork, so would have been grilled on that.. especially by Christine who was a bit obsessed by her Cork origins and often referred to John as the fellow Cork man. Unless he told her he was from the Limerick border and that satisfied her. Either way several conversation had to have taken place that weren't aired.

FlipFlopShopInHawaii · 21/09/2025 23:18

Any watch tonight's?
Love the dagger idea!

I'm hating smug Nick 😠
