Well, I've only seen the first episode and a bit of the second one (which nights is it on? I was away until yesterday so missed the broadcast of the first episode), but I saw some of the Traitors Uncloaked last night, and agreed with one of the panellists that Paudie's response to being accused of being a traitor (a jokily sarcastic 'Totally! Murdering away for myself the whole day!' or something like that) was probably not something you'd be that likely to get on overseas versions I've seen where you have people going weepy and glassy-eyed with sincerity and swearing 'I'm a Faithful! I swear!' The only person doing that so far in the Irish one is the American-accented black guy (Wilkin?). He'd clearly want to cop on to himself if he doesn't want to get banished for looking too sincere.
I'm sorry Diane went, as I quite liked her, but the early banishments are always completely mad. 'You took a drink of water when Siobhán said 'My traitors', therefore you are one!' 'You were quiet at breakfast, therefore you are evil!' 'You speak Irish so you are clearly in league with the Dark Lord!'
My Total Pain is Faye the Shrieky Event Organiser With the Hair. I get that people will feel self-conscious about being on camera the whole time, but isn't being on camera all the time all the more reason for your first action inside the castle not to be rushing straight across a room to check your hair in the mirror?
Also, why would you go onto a TV show where you know you will be doing physical tasks involving carrying and lifting heavy stuff with giant decorated fake nails that mean you can't even wipe your eyes, far less roll a barrel, Vanessa?
I'm interested in the casino manager guy, though I can't decide if he genuinely suffers from memory loss or was trying to psych Nina out by claiming they never had the conversation in the car. I don't think he'll last long on the grounds of being no craic. No one wants a sour-faced know-all continually piping up 'The traitors are laughing at us!'
