Random question

Is Dee her full name?

It comes across as a shortened name.

Dee-luded

She doesn't look like a Deirdre iykwim Smile

It's standard if you win, that the other person has to pay the costs isn't it.

There was a question mark about James Lawrence’s costs especially @Lallydallydune.

Lallydallydune · 05/12/2024 16:54

I remember Rebekah Vardy being made to pay Colleen Rooney's court costs, because she won.

It's a bit scary to take anyone to court isn't it. Because if you lose, you'll have to pay the other person's costs.

So nikita was brave. If she lost the case. he would be paying huge costs for Conor and James.

vibratosprigato · 05/12/2024 17:29

I've read that she will not have to pay Mr Lawrence's legal costs because they were paid for by McGregor in any case, and the pair of them served one defence drafted by the same law firm. She will have to bear the cost of her own legal costs for the case against Mr Lawrence though.

Downerthanishouldbe · 05/12/2024 18:38

Thanks @vibratosprigato

honeyrider · 05/12/2024 19:49

If a go fund me is set up to help Nakita I'd have no problem chipping in and I'm sure there would be plenty of others willing to do the same.

www.irishtimes.com/crime-law/courts/2024/12/05/conor-mcgregor-ordered-to-pay-nikita-hands-legal-costs-of-successful-civil-rape-claim/

So Conor is paying for himself, James Lawrence and Nikita's costs in relation to him.

Judge acknowledged that since McGregor is paying Lawrence costs, he shouldn't have any costs.

So she covers her costs against Lawrence.

The judge isn't happy with the comments uploaded and deleted by McGregor about the Court.

Potential fine for contempt.

Ooh is that where he called them a kangaroo court.

I'm not saying he's right to do it. Just that I didn't know.

I didn't know they could fine him for contempt of court for something he said on his own social media, after the case is over?

DublinFemale · 05/12/2024 20:34

I would expect the costs from Lawrence case will be absorbed into the costs against McGregor.

I am assuming the case was taken as a 'no win, no fee.

DublinFemale · 05/12/2024 20:41

@Lallydallydune

Technically the case wasn't over. Costs had not been heard. He made disparaging remarks regarding the court.

He has also indicated he plans to appeal, not sure on what grounds, but if he does the case is still not finished so he cannot be commenting on an active court

Well he was very stupid to comment online then before it was all finalised.

But he has a hot head.

DublinFemale · 05/12/2024 20:45

He always was a hot head even before all the MMA.

Lallydallydune · 05/12/2024 20:48

That must be why dee edited some of her online comments too.

A legal advisor must have told her to take it down.

vibratosprigato · 05/12/2024 21:19

I also read in one of the articles (can't remember which now) that part of the reason Mr Lawrence's costs weren't awarded was that although he "won" his case, he didn't win it on the defence he provided. He won it because the jury didn't accept that any sex took place (consensual or otherwise).

Nah, they can lash out and put up horrible nasty posts and then delete them.

They just don't care.

I read that too.

But I always thought that from the verdict. I was reading the verdict against JL as no sex occurs rather than proved consensual sex crap.

His story was absolutely bullshit.

For a man of 'modest means' he just needs to bottle his stamina, 5 times with 2 women in 7hours while drinking and snorting.

He could call it Stallion. He'll be a billionaire and can pay Conor back for his court costs.

She was very brave I think. Not only was it a fairly risky case (won ultimately because of the medical evidence but also both her authenticity on the stand and also the inauthenticity of CMG) but costs were a wildcard.

DublinFemale · 06/12/2024 07:24

It was always a gamble, but as I mentioned in previous post I would expected it to be no win, no fee.

The flip side of that would be I would have expected NH's legal team to have believed and tested evidence to bring the case through civil courts.

Their payday (and let's all be honest in court cases the big winners are always legal team) was always going to be if NH won.

Their payday evidence against CMG was quite strong and his behaviour in the stand would t have helped him.

The JL evidence in the case is what, I feel, muddied the waters for a DPP case. If it was NH vs CMG I feel there was a stronger chance it might have gone to trial.

JL is an absolute fool and obviously isn't part of Conor's friend circle since he wasn't out socialising with him prior to collecting the women.

Yes but no win no fee, just means that nikita wouldn't have to lay her own solicitors fees, if she lost the case.

If she had lost the case, she would be responsible for paying Conor mcgregors solicitors fees.

DublinFemale · 06/12/2024 17:24

@Lallydallydune

I am aware of that gamble hence my post stating I had expected her legal team to have tested and reviewed the evidence prior to you going to trial.

As it stands with no win, no fee, only covers the actual hours and court appearances, any exploratory expenses, reports etc would have been Nikita's responsibility had she lost as well as McGregor and potentially JL

So I am still of the opinion the legal team were going for McGregor and had to bring the other fool in as he I believe got a decent payoff for lying to the police.

And yes I 100% 💯 believe he lied about being with Nikita.

mollyfolk · 06/12/2024 17:42

If the DPP had brought it to trial? Could they have prosecuted both JL and CMG in the same trial? Or does everyone get their own trial in a criminal case.
