Grim, isn't it? Holding on to outdated trans policies although most sporting bodies in Ireland have asserted that the women's category = female at birth.

I wonder how much support it has at grassroots level.

It's a good article, isn't it? I don't read the Indo much, but I should support it
because it seems to be a bastion of objectivity and realism on sex/gender.

This gives me a chance to post that famous photo of Giulia Valentino bravely representing transwomen in the GAA.
Giulia [who seems to have disappeared back to Italy, or London] said in interviews at the time that Giulia wished to leave a legacy for transwomen in the GAA.
Happy to oblige at every opportunity by posting your photo, Giulia, the more people see it, the stronger your 'legacy' will be!

I often wonder why the LGFA pushed through their transgender policy. It wasn't something that would have been widely supported at grassroots level.
Someone high up with a trans child or relative perhaps?
We see similar with certain prominent politicians.
My understanding is that the LGFA adopted the 2015 IOC guidelines when they threw female players under the bus in the name of kindness and inclusion.

As the more recent IOC policy finally decided to prioritise safety and fairness in womens sports, we can only hope there will be enough senior members of the GAA and Camogie Association who will have the sense to recognise that continuing with the current LGFA position after amalgamation,leaves them very vulnerable to liability claims.

Well it must have had something to do with higher-ups, AbbVie pharmaceuticals were/are huge sponsors and just so happens they are the biggest producers of puberty blocker medication. There must be a connection there.

With it being such a high contact sport it's only a matter of time until there's a serious injury and that might be the only thing to make anyone take notice. The Gaels for Fair Play group must be so upset with this latest news. They have an even bigger mountain to climb now 😩
