Had to send DH for emergency beach towels to dunnes this week as the drying is so bad in west cork 😞 he bought 4 in dunnes for the prices of one paul Costello and was very proud of himself- they're grand

I have a really thick Paul Costello towel that was reduced. It is a bath sheet. It takes so long to dry it can only be used in heatwaves.
@Carriemac are you in Clonakilty?

JaneJeffer · 13/04/2023 12:41

@honeyrider hope you have a great time. I'm most jealous of the fact you get to wear summer clothes! I've been looking at threads on S&B about spring wardrobes and thinking they are surplus to requirements here!

Taytocrisps · 13/04/2023 13:28

@JaneJeffer I always roll my eyes when I hear talk about the spring/summer season when I know that we'll all be bundled up in warm clothes until at least June and maybe beyond.

Have a fab. trip @honeyrider. Sounds amazing.

I got a text from Home Store and More to say that their towels are half price. I thought of this thread.

Right, off to pack a picnic for our day out. We may well end up eating in the car. In the rain.

eggandonion · 13/04/2023 14:28

Im hiding here from the joe biden thread. I hope he was wearing thermals yesterday .

JaneJeffer · 13/04/2023 14:31

Wise decision @eggandonion it's a bit of a troll magnet. It's fairly easy to avoid seeing Sleepy Joe.

LadyEloise1 · 13/04/2023 16:18

@eggandonion where is the Joe Biden thread ? I checked on Craicnet and couldn't see one.

eggandonion · 13/04/2023 16:56

On Chat.i fell asleep during Classic Coronation Street. Joe Biden is more alert than me.

honeyrider · 13/04/2023 17:25

We're over 2 weeks into our holiday and have another 2 nights in Vancouver. We get into Dublin on Sunday around lunchtime. It's been a trip of a lifetime.

We flew to Vegas for 2 nights then flew to San Diego and stayed with cousins for 3 nights then bus to LA for 2 nights then 6 nights cruise to Vancouver with stops at San Francisco Astoria in Oregon Victoria in Vancouver Island.

honeyrider · 13/04/2023 17:27

The cruise was fabulous and very good value, it's been the cheapest part of the holiday apart from staying with my cousins.

JaneJeffer · 13/04/2023 17:28

Sounds amazing @honeyrider Is Stanley Park the one with the beach? I saw it on Made Up in Belfast the other night if so. Trashy TV at its finest!

JaneJeffer · 13/04/2023 17:30

Or maybe that was Toronto

LadyEloise1 · 13/04/2023 19:21

Thank you @eggandonion

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 13/04/2023 20:15

I love how Biden is behind on his schedule because he's talking too much.
Gift of the gab 😄 At least the weather picked up today when he was out and about. A lovely sunny day, though still chilly.

Honeyrider that sounds amazing. Enjoy every minute of it. * *Good for ye.

eggandonion · 13/04/2023 21:25

I am so glad i wasn't invited to the posh dinner in Dublin Castle. Id be starving and hangry. I wonder if there were rolls on the table.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 13/04/2023 21:48

I just said something similar to dh! I'd be snuffling breadrolls under the table.

JaneJeffer · 13/04/2023 21:57

If Biden wants to be really Irish he needs to stuff himself with bread rolls before the soup is anywhere to be seen Grin

Eanair23 · 13/04/2023 22:13

Hi. 👋another holiday maker here. Coming home from Lanzarote on Saturday. Mild sunburn from lounging by the pool. It sounds like we missed fabulous weather at home.
I read that book about GD and Eilish ??? It was really interesting. He was so cruel to her. I'm glad his appeal failed.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 14/04/2023 11:56

Oh I'm envious of all you holiday-makers!

I just can't warm to Biden at all, and when I saw a photo of him holding a baby in the Dáil all I could think of was 'Jesus don't drop the baby'!!!

We're further west than Clon but it's our neared dunnes .
the kids persuaded us to buy an Aldi hot tub at the weekend and it's been fabulous! Just the thing for the changeable weather

JaneJeffer · 14/04/2023 14:19

Wrap up warm on the way home @Eanair23! Hope you're having a lovely holiday.

eggandonion · 14/04/2023 19:30

In fairness he looks like an experienced baby wrangler. I wonder if politicians practise baby skills. I haven't had a go on a baby for ages.
That Dunnes is really handy. My geography of Clonakilty is Super Valu the distillery and Dunnes!

JaneJeffer · 14/04/2023 19:33

I was watching Martin O'Malley on the news. He's very personable.

60smusic · 14/04/2023 20:52

Very sad news about Mark from The Scrip RIP so young and so much talent

JaneJeffer · 14/04/2023 21:05

May he rest in peace.
