Anyone listen to Liveline yesterday ?
Joe was very cross and rightly so that the drowning of 2 men in Dublin on Good Friday got so little media attention.
A homeless man called James jumped in to rescue a young man who, as his friend who was with him said was a spur of the moment alcohol fuelled decision to jump in to the Liffey ( I'm not sure if the 21 year old was suicidal or it was for the craic ). James came along and without hesitation jumped in to save him. He was ex Army, had battled addictions and knew how to swim.
Sadly both men lost their lives.
A deafening silence from the media.
Too busy with Biden visit news etc.
The death of Bród got more attention.
Heartbreaking for the families and friends of the two men.
May they rest in peace.
I'd love if someone or some official body acknowledged in some way the heroism of James.
