Who thought that would ever happen!!? Has there even been a sixth page before?

There is ( or was, might have been removed since) a very detailed post on reddit from a poster who alleges he groomed and assaulted her when she was around 16 and he was late 20s, so about 10 years ago. I don't have a reddit account but the screenshots were on WhatsApp last week.

Since that was shared Twitter has been lit up with other accounts of him being inappropriate (at best) around women.

Mayzee · 10/03/2021 08:00

@7Days

Making women the butt of the joke as usual.

I hesitate to believe internet rumours. But I'm never surprised anymore to learn that the most right-on have a misogynist streak, or worse.

Agree with this about the right on. Often the more vocally ‘woke’ a person is, the more unpleasant they really are ime. The threads on Twitter from girls making the allegations are a tough read. His career is destroyed now which, if even one of those accounts is true, he deserves.
Emeraldshamrock · 10/03/2021 08:22

Hello to all the new posters! It's such a nice board
Welcome. Smile
The weather was wild last night. I'm glad I tied the trampoline to our tree before bed.

Screenshots are circulating on Twitter as well.

Regardless of the alleged events (being careful here because I really hope there's a criminal investigation going on)... I could never stand Eoghan McDermott.

Creepy smarmy fucker who always got my hackles up. I never understood why he was so popular.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 10/03/2021 09:14

Ugh it doesn't look good does it, some very unpleasant reading there. I must admit I don't know him at all or anything about him. I don't ever listen to 2FM. It certainly does sound like his career is over. Which is a good thing if the allegations are true.

eggandonion · 10/03/2021 09:21

I don't know who he is either, he sounds horrible. I wonder how much he was paid.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 10/03/2021 09:31

Those clips that Jane posted are shocking. Ugh!

LadyEloise · 10/03/2021 11:14

HSE boss Paul Reid gets a salary of over €420,00.
More than Joe Biden, Angela Merkel, Boris Johnston or the Taoiseach.
Utterly bonkers system of salaries in Ireland . Angry
Who is responsible for salary setting and when did the ludicrousness start ? Under whose watch ?
The sh*tshow that is the roll out of vaccines in Ireland !!!
Haven't we got a big pharma industry in Ireland ? Surely we have the contacts to get more vaccines ?

HaHaVeryBunny · 10/03/2021 12:01

www.thejournal.ie/eu-confirms-ireland-to-receive-46500-additional-pfizer-doses-5377116-Mar2021/
Not sure l believe much out of the Government's mouth (if l ever really did) but if true this has to be good news.

My mum who is long term residential care has still not received her first dose, and l'm sure there are plenty here who have similar stories to tell.

HaHaVeryBunny · 10/03/2021 12:04
  • in case link didn’t work, story was about Ireland to receive 56,500 extra doses of Pfizer by the end of March.
eggandonion · 10/03/2021 12:12

Why has she not had the vaccine yet HaHa? Is there a reason?
My daughter works in the HSE and likes Paul Reid, not sure if she likes him 420k though! They brought in a consultant last year when ppe procurement was in chaos, and apparently she was good. I think they should bring her in to sort the vaccine procurement.
I think there are too many men in charge, a few sensible women might be the answer.
I took my dog out and got soaked, it's pretty miserable here.

HaHaVeryBunny · 10/03/2021 12:32

@eggandonion my mum lives in a long term care residential community, with 90% of residents being over 75, however they all have separate units/living area but everything else is commmual, the laundry, gardens, rubbish/recycling area the daycare centre etc. You pay €2000 a month for this privilege.

The management decided to opt out of the Vaccine even though 3 residents had died from COVID-19 at the peak last year, and other long term residential communities have opted in to the Vaccine that is free through the HSE.

There are no rules for residents to wear masks and a flimsy sign was put up to say everyone who had to enter must be temp tested and wear a mask, great, except it didn't happen.

I rang my GP who was appalled by this and she gave me a contact number to report this and go further with it.
I truly wish l could post the name of this care facility but l think going down a more legal route and direct approach would be better.

Vitural hugs to everyone reading this, it’s such a tough time but your all doing great

halfpasteleven · 10/03/2021 13:30

That's so hard @HaHaVeryBunny
I hope you get answers and results very soon. Their approach just doesn't make sense.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 10/03/2021 13:33

Hey HaHaVeryBunny that's completely shocking. A virtual hug right back at you. I'm sorry you are going through this stress.

eggandonion · 10/03/2021 14:14

That's interesting, by having a degree of independence and a degree of support they have missed out on the vaccine. I hope they are sorted soon, my dh is fed up with having to wait but I know there are lots of people who need the jab more than I do.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 10/03/2021 14:14

That's pretty shocking @HaHaVeryBunny I hope you get somewhere with the legal route. Good news that we've got more supplies coming but my God we're still very slow to roll out the programme aren't we Sad We still haven't vaccinated all the over 85s! The in-laws are late 70s and still haven't even got a date yet. It's just too slow.

I wonder when we'll really start to open up again. My sister was in a Dunnes Stores this morning and she said the staff were moving loads of clothes out from the cordoned off section and re-pricing them with sale stickers. She got loads of bits for her little DD. I might try and get in there myself in the morning!! (I wonder will there be anything left by then)

HaHaVeryBunny · 10/03/2021 14:23

Thank you all so much for your posts and advice, it's a fantastic supportive community here Star

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 10/03/2021 14:53

Wishing you good luck, HaHa. I can't see what reasons they have for doing this (I understand you can't talk about it).

I'm around here most days alwaysfor a moan or for a bit of company.

The weather is grim with a fierce blowy wind. The cat can't decide what to do with himself. He asks to go out, does a U-turn, comes back in again. Five minutes later, he forgets the weather is grim, asks to go out...

CherryValanc · 10/03/2021 15:14

Thats absolutely shocking HaHaVeryBunny. What a complete disgrace of management.

@Lipz I was thinking about you the other day as I've now been stopped several times this week, did you appeal that fine? I hope it's wavered for you.

The dog refused to go out this morning so, like a tool, I had to stand with a brolly in my dressing gown and coax her out for a wee. The bins are still lying sideways, no point in lifting them in this wind!

@HaHaVeryBunny I hope you get the vaccine issue resolved soon. A sheltered/residential home near my mum wasn't on the priority list for vaccines because, although their residents are practically all 75+, they don't have nurses on staff (they have wonderful staff of carers and support team around the clock), so they didn't count as a "nursing" home when TDs were spouting about getting all homes vaccinated by x date back in Feb. It caused a lot of upset among the residents, who were hearing this on the news, but then being told "sorry, doesn't include you"

It took a lot of local press and radio coverage, and persistence of family members and staff to get there. I should add though that the management were absolutely pushing for it, not against.

Emeraldshamrock · 10/03/2021 15:33

@HaHaVeryBunny That's awful. Can you contact Hiqa?
The rollout is shocking.
MIL FIL and BIL 30 with asthma in NI all had their first last week.

MarDhea · 10/03/2021 15:40

@HaHaVeryBunny That's awful, hope you can get somewhere with it Thanks

I'm stuck in my home office in hours of boring meetings today, listening to the rain and wind howling outside. The cat is in and out of the room every 5 mins so good job I can turn my camera off 🙄

Thanks so much. Cat will decide when they make their entrance, no respect for the working hours of their humans :)

MarDhea · 10/03/2021 15:58

Yep, cats everywhere are very disappointed with the quality of service from their humans these days.

Not angry, just disappointed.
