Unlinked because I can't remember how to do it, and can't find Help thing.

it hasn't been part of the Irish government's response to date, in relation to schools
DS's school had the windows open constantly. They were also going outside as much as possible when the weather (and teachers) allowed. So maybe it's not government policy but it was being done nonetheless.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 20/01/2021 12:48

Yes, JaneJeffer, same in the primary and secondary my children go to.

JaneJeffer · 20/01/2021 12:50

By the way I cleared out my hot press at the weekend and now my hall is full of black bags with nowhere to go. Maybe I should just put it all back!

Iblinkedandiamold · 20/01/2021 12:52

Who's going to watch Biden being sworn in today. (I cant spell the official word for itGrin)

JaneJeffer · 20/01/2021 12:56

Me! I can't believe the amount of military in Washington and the barbed wire fencing!

eggandonion · 20/01/2021 12:57

I noticed a lot of classes outside before Christmas, not sure that would work today.
Josepha and Norma are both upsetting people, leo did a really big leak, Europe wants us to crack on with jabs, but we aren't supposed to stockpile astra zeneca.
Yes, I will watch Biden!

Actually, I can't say mine had classes outside. There were lots of open windows though.

eggandonion · 20/01/2021 13:58

There seemed to be a lot of pe running, and nature walks, more than normal for December!

It was a mild month, so that is probably right, eggandonion

I must go off and check the state of my hot press.
I did a big clear out some time ago, so in theory, it shouldn't be too bad Smile

Thank god for the distraction on the Inauguration! My dc still remember the day they watched Obama's inauguration, all lined up on the sofa. I wonder when Joe will be able to visit Mayo?

DD would love to be back at school, she's in TY and it has been ruined by covid, no trips, work experience, etc. Instead she has an academic year, and so much work, online every day from 8.30 to 4. Her teachers are definitely doing their best, even though they sometimes have their toddlers on their knee when they're teaching. It must be so hard and I'm very grateful to them.

I think so many people are at the end of their tether, hence all the complaints and arguments. We are all trying our best in terrible circumstances.

eggandonion · 20/01/2021 15:00

I think TY is a brilliant invention, and the past two years have been so unlucky. I'm sure the good teachers are finding it hard, and the ok teachers too. We had very few useless teachers, only one, in all the years.
My dd2 has just received a Christmas hamper from work, it's for a colleague working from home in England. Brexit complicated it, so we got delivery of assorted cake slices and salted caramel chocolate. Roll on the joe show.

I was fixing the curtain rail in my junk room that was my DS' room. I had just finished drilling when the doorbell went. I thought it was my neighbour who likes to complain the rare time I do DIY.
It was only my mother wanting to ho for a walk.
She's in my bubble so not breaking any rules and she lives within 5k of me so she's not breaking any rules coming into me. Grin

I'm feeling sorry for Mike Pence. This is a measure of my emotional state. I need to get out more..

OP posts:
SionnachRua · 20/01/2021 16:29

I say fair fucks to Mike Pence. It would have been easy for him to slink away from it all like Trump. He's showing a bit of class in turning up...even if it's been the national standard since the 1880s Grin

eggandonion · 20/01/2021 16:32

He could be the new ambassador to Ireland, hes very holy, isn't he. But not Catholic. He could go to the north and eat traybakes.

I'm waiting to see which poem Joe goes for today.

Garth Brooks...please wear a mask when getting your hat back.
In fact we don't really like him, do we.

JaneJeffer · 20/01/2021 17:21

Croker doesn't anyway Grin

eggandonion · 20/01/2021 17:32

Nathan Carter on a big screen would have been a better man. Garth has put on weight.
Its about 5 years until we have a presidential election? I wonder who will be on the list? I hope we, all the world, is in a better place.

Wow Caitríona Perry had to shut your man up quickly there!

Iblinkedandiamold · 20/01/2021 18:13

I missed it in the end. I wanted to finish the room I started. I catch up later.

SionnachRua · 20/01/2021 18:47

@JaneJeffer

Wow Caitríona Perry had to shut your man up quickly there!
Clip in case anyone hasn't seen:

I agree, though I think they should have cut him off a bit sharper! Real Proud Boy type there.

Iblinkedandiamold · 20/01/2021 20:49

Oh my gosh, just watched it. He was not happy was he. Grin
