I only buy Kerrygold grass-fed Irish butter and goats butter, both worth every penny. I also make my own butter when I can buy local fresh double cream. It's so easy to make, you don't need a butter churn!

The whisk attachment on my kitchen aid, whisk on high until the butter separates from the whey (few minutes) then rinse the butter in icy cold water to clean off any remaining buttermilk and then mix in the salt, shape, wrap and chill. Buttermilk gets used for buttermilk pancakes, bread making and muffins. I would make all my own butter if I had a regular supply of fresh double cream that was away from the food chain.

I only ever by own brand british butter where ever I am shopping - butter got really expensive for a while, but its been consistantly below £2 for some time again now.

Put your double cream in your saddle bag and go for a bike ride in a container of course

Cheapest block butters from Ocado.

Olive oil is also incredibly expensive now. On a tip from someone here, I bought a huge carton of cold-pressed rapeseed oil which is much cheaper (unit price) and does a good job.

M&S own brand via Ocado cheaper than Asda’s own (1.99)!

Country life used to be one of the cheaper ones, possibly price hike is due to Brexit?
