I was going to have lunch with a friend today who suggested weatherspoons (cheap and cheerful). I could not believe that their 3 small plates have increased from £10 to £15! Which led me onto thinking what else has jumped up a considerable amount product wise! We shop at Aldi so I haven't noticed a big difference YET.

Wow! On one hand, steak and chips for £11 is a bargain, but outrageous to charge more for the way you chose it to be cooked, which was probably another 2 minutes in the pan/grill.

You often get charged for peppercorn sauce or similar for steak, but I’ve never heard of an extra charge for medium or well done. Did it say it on the menu? If not, I’d have disputed it.

If £11 isn’t enough to charge, they should say £13.

I genuinely couldn't believe it and was about to complain. My wife said she rather i didn't. Quiet life and all that so i didn't. I did wonder if it was even legal to do that though.

Oh I would name and shame this! That’s completely and utterly bonkers. The highest order of cheeky fuckery.

That £2 is the shema on you charge😂joking

Re pubs and cafes and restaurants. They really can't help it. Wholesale prices went mental, absolutely mental, some items easily doubled plus, important plus, businesses didn't have any energy unit controls like households. There was no cap. So the prices skyrocketed too. At one point energy companies wanted thousands of pounds as deposits if smaller businesses tried to move to them.
