Let's just say I won't be returning
Unfortunately nothing had a price on and it was too late to back out once it was rung through

Why would a butcher think someone was odd for using imperial measurements? Surely it's very common in shops that sell by weight to use lbs or ounces.

Not here, they use grams. It is quite a hipster butcher though so maybe that’s why. I thought most shops used grams and kilograms these days 🤷‍♀️

They've only just very recently come back. Shops were required by law to sell in metric weights from 2000 to 2022. It was one of the things people got Brexity about. IIRC exceptions were made to allow the selling of beer and cider by the pint.

It's unlikely they would bat an eye at anyone using imperial measurements. They'll be used to mostly older people ordering in lbs and (mostly) younger people ordering in kg. Asking for a fixed number of sausages is unlikely to phase any butchers either.
