No!!! This in my mind doesn’t count as “social media”
More “lifestyle” and “mental health” 😂

ememem84 · 01/02/2022 18:00

It’s more the Facebook. And getting too into the comments……

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/02/2022 18:11

Can this be anti-social media?
I need some where to vent

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/02/2022 18:16

Taken ds for a pCR as lost taste and smell

SingToTheSky · 01/02/2022 19:02

I don’t count MN either. I have barely used FB this year and I’m much happier for it

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/02/2022 19:06

Facebook is bollocks

HumbugWhale · 01/02/2022 19:25

Sorry been MIA. Feeling really ropey. Not covid, tested negative but some sort of cold from hell. Dragged myself to work today and was pretty useless to be honest!
Doing well with being frugal though. Have updated spreadsheet and not been buying stuff except food.

ememem84 · 01/02/2022 19:52

I agree. And I should delete my account. But the comments.

We have a local “good and bad business” group which is amazing. Like every day there’s a drama. It’s great.

And the government page. With the covid deniers. Amazing.

marthasmum · 01/02/2022 20:02

Unlucky about the boiler, hope it is fixable ☹️
Sorry to hear you feel rubbish humbug
Been working long hours this week and last, don’t feel I’m getting very far
Managed to balance the accounts a bit since Xmas but I’m worried about the fuel increase. Ours is now £200 a month again with bulb and. 50% increase is £300 which is bonkers! I know the advice is not to fix but I’m wondering if I should look as bulb isn’t the cheapest? Going to do some searching tonight cos I don’t really understand it.

Wolfcub · 01/02/2022 20:08

£70 petrol. Effin petrol prices.

Martha read everything Martin Lewis has written on the subject when researching

marthasmum · 01/02/2022 20:13

Yes I was going to look at him again wolf. It’s very complex isn’t it and I’ve forgotten what he said!

Wolfcub · 01/02/2022 20:30

The dog has just knocked me off balance and I've smacked my head on the outside door. Lovely big red lump right in the middle of my forehead. Hope it doesn't bruise

Lovemaltesers · 01/02/2022 20:52

🤞 it’s not covid life

Oh no, wolf, I hope you are ok

Feel better soon humbug, there’s some nasty non-covid things going around.

I have to do the full 10 days isolation. I am feeling very fed up!

I need to remind DH to look at the energy account too martha, I’m a bit worried about it. Had to transfer some extra to the joint account earlier as it’s disappearing so quickly at the moment. We’ve had the heating on loads in January as constantly at home.

Lovemaltesers · 01/02/2022 20:54

I have unfollowed so many of my friends/acquaintances on FB, because I find them/their views annoying 🤣 my feed is now mainly adverts

marthasmum · 01/02/2022 20:57

Oh no wolf I hope you are alright! Head bumps are nasty.
I’m afraid my research yielded rather depressing results. If it’s of help to anyone else, I watched Martin Lewis’s 5 min video which is helpful. Basically saying most people will be better off doing nothing - unless you are unusual and can find a fix that’s less than a 40% rise. I’d hoped we might as bulb are not the cheapest. Looks like I was naive. On average we’ve been paying around £200 a month for a 4 bed, quite draughty house (have loft extension so no insulation and not much double glazing). I could only find 3 comparable offers and the cheapest was £450 pm!! Other website are basically saying sorry, no new customers atm. So it looks like any fixes available are super expensive as they don’t know what’s happening. And most companies are simply battening down waiting to see what happens.
I feel quite anxious about it and I’m on a good wage. God knows how people feel who are on hard circumstances already.
